My Divine Father Forced Me to Come
Luna Lian: "What does that mean?"
"It means..." Adrian Drake started to say, but stopped halfway, rolling up his sleeves. "By the way, who did you say bullied you just now, Senior Sister? Tell me—I'll knock their teeth out!"
Luna Lian: "It was Jumin Jing."
"Ah? Him..." Adrian looked awkward and let his sleeves fall back down. "I heard he just ascended to High God..."
"Yeah!"
"Ahem, I forgot for a second—we're at the army camp, fighting is strictly forbidden! But listen, Lianlian, there are other ways to deal with someone than just beating them up..."
...
Lucia Lu pulled Sean Shaw aside, let go of his wrist, and leaned over to check on the other two.
Sean Shaw stiffened, staring at her, and after a long moment asked, "What do you want to ask me?"
Lucia Lu snapped out of it and grinned. "Fifth Highness, don't tell me you're joining the army too?"
"Mm." After a moment, he added, "My Divine Father forced me to come."
"Seems like everyone was forced to come. Fifth Highness, do you think Adrian and my sister would make a good couple?" Lucia pointed at the two in the distance.
Sean Shaw glanced at them but said nothing.
"Hmm? Not a good match?" Lucia pressed.
"Looks-wise and family-wise, they're a perfect fit," Sean said. "But Adrian already has someone he likes."
Lucia blinked. "Who? How come I didn't know?"
Jenna Summers.
"Jenna Summers? Don't tell me it's that sickly beauty from the Summers Clan?"
"I don't know her. I've only heard Adrian mention her."
"Oh my god! Lianlian was the one who cured that beauty, too! If she finds out she saved her own romantic rival, how is she supposed to feel?" Lucia shook her head.
Sean Shaw said nothing.
"Thanks for the intel! I'm off to tidy up my place—see you tomorrow!" Lucia grinned and waved at him.
Sean didn't answer.
Lucia was used to him being like this and headed back on her own.
Fifth Highness stood there for a while, then vanished in an instant.
Then, hidden from sight, he watched as Lucia entered a small courtyard.
Sign: Zero Five.
She lived in No. 5.
...
The living conditions at the Divine Guard Command Camp were pretty good.
Each person had their own private courtyard, complete with a reception room, bedroom, study, and even a huge array chamber—said to be the treatment reserved for commanders.
Ryan Lu lived in No. 4, Lucia Lu in No. 5, and Luna Lian in No. 6.
The next day, the three siblings arrived early at the training ground.
By the time they got there, plenty of people had already arrived, chatting in small groups.
When they showed up, the group from the Lumina Realm gathered around them.
Jumin Jing was chattering away, lively as ever, though no one knew what he was saying.
When he saw Lucia, his eyes lit up and he hurried over, greeting her with exaggerated warmth: "Cousin! You're here! Did you sleep well last night?"
Even though something unpleasant had happened yesterday, he acted as if nothing was wrong—completely shameless.
Lucia just nodded coolly, said little, greeted a few people she knew, and told them, "I'm taking Luna to find Adrian." Then she grabbed Luna and left.
Lucia had never liked her aunt's family.
Rumor had it that her aunt—Jumin Jing's mother—went around telling people, ever since Jumin Jing became a High God, that he was favored by Lord James Ming and that Lucia would be betrothed to him.
Just the thought of it made Lucia cringe.
She really didn't want to see Jumin Jing's face.
The two sisters picked a random corner and avoided him.
