You Fly in the Sky, I Chase on the Ground
One hour later.
Ian Song returned to the Tian Clan compound, where Cici and Joy were anxiously awaiting his return.
"Master!"
As soon as they saw him, Cici and Joy rushed over and each hugged one of his arms.
"Let's go—head to the Tenth Natural Star."
Even before Light appeared, Ian had already planned to return to the Tenth Natural Star. Now that he had killed Light, he needed to keep searching for Lynn Ning—after all, he only had one month left before returning to the main world.
Half an hour later, in a luxury cabin aboard a ship headed for the Tenth Natural Star, Ian was talking with Meow-Meow.
After Ian killed Light, his mission in this world was complete, and Meow-Meow had awakened from its slumber.
"If I don't find Lynn Ning within this month, will I ever be able to see her again?"
Ian asked Meow-Meow.
Meow-Meow replied, "In theory, yes."
"Don't be cryptic—just explain it clearly!" Ian said irritably.
Meow-Meow grumbled, "Fine, since you're in a bad mood, I won't argue with you."
"Then stop wasting time and get to the point!" Ian urged.
Meow-Meow's voice sounded again: "Listen up, kid. There are three levels to this universe. The lowest level is called the Mortal Realm, and it's made up of countless small worlds. Your main world is part of the Mortal Realm—and so is this world, along with the four mission worlds you've traveled to before."
Ian interrupted, "Wait, weren't those worlds I traveled to created by the System?"
"Idiot, I've already told you—the worlds created by the System are real, they just use novels or movies as their blueprint!" Meow-Meow snapped.
Ian nodded thoughtfully. "So, just how many of these small worlds are there?"
Meow-Meow thought for a moment. "No idea. Maybe billions, tens of billions, hundreds of billions—or even more!"
"There's no way there are that many small worlds!" Ian exclaimed in shock.
"Because small worlds are constantly being created—some naturally, some artificially—and just as new ones are born, others are destroyed. So, even I don't know how many small worlds there are!"
Ian nodded, then asked, "So, above the Mortal Realm is the Immortal Realm, right?"
"That's right, above the Mortal Realm is the Immortal Realm!" Meow-Meow confirmed Ian's guess.
"There isn't just one Immortal Realm, is there?" Ian probed.
"You guessed right again. There are not just one, but three thousand Immortal Realms!" Meow-Meow replied.
"Why only three thousand? Why not four or five thousand?" Ian pressed.
"Good question!" Meow-Meow suddenly raised its voice. "Because I have no idea!"
"Damn cat, you're messing with me!" Ian shouted angrily.
Meow-Meow just chuckled.
Meow-Meow smiled and said, "Actually, the number of Immortal Realms has never changed since ancient times—it's always been three thousand. And above the Immortal Realms are the God Realms, which are even fewer, only twelve in total."
"Now here's the problem: Lynn Ning has gone missing, and we don't even know if she's still in this world. Even though you've obtained the Divine Temple from the Star King and can travel freely between small worlds—"
"—you still have no idea which small world she's in, and each one is huge. How are you supposed to find a single person? That's why I said, while it's theoretically possible to find her, in reality it's even harder than finding a grain of sand in the ocean!"
Hearing this, Ian felt almost hopeless. Suddenly, his eyes lit up as he thought of something. "Stupid cat, maybe it's hard to find her in the Mortal Realm, but if I ascend to the Immortal or God Realm, wouldn't it be much easier to find her there?"
"Only if you can guarantee that she also makes it to the Immortal or God Realm!" Meow-Meow replied.
"She will! She definitely will!" Ian muttered, though a trace of anxiety showed on his face.
Three days later, the ship landed on the Tenth Natural Star. With limited time, Ian only called Samuel Tian, telling him to keep a spacecraft ready for immediate departure—he might need it in the next two days.
The Tenth Natural Star is much larger in area than the Homeworld.
Ian first tried using Star-Fate Divination, but couldn't detect any trace of Lynn Ning. Helpless, he could only resort to his secret art to search for her aura.
Two days later, Ian, exhausted, boarded the ship Samuel Tian had prepared and headed for the Ninth Natural Star.
When he woke up, the ship had just landed on the Ninth Natural Star.
This planet is three to four times larger than the Homeworld, but smaller than the Tenth Natural Star.
After more than a day of searching, Ian found nothing, so he transferred by ship to the Seventh Natural Star.
Over the next twenty-seven days, Ian systematically searched every Natural Planet in the Federation Empire. Still, there was no sign of Lynn Ning—she seemed to have vanished into thin air.
With only three days left, he would soon be able to leave this world.
For these last three days, Ian decided to try his luck and see if he could eliminate Ethan Jiang. After all, all System Hosts are potential future enemies—better to deal with them early and reduce future threats.
Unfortunately, Ian was too late—Ethan Jiang had already left this world three days earlier.
Ian had a strong feeling that Ethan Jiang might become his greatest rival in the future.
Since Ethan Jiang was gone, Ian had no reason to stay. He rushed back to the Tenth Natural Star at top speed.
Before leaving, he planned to say goodbye to his friends.
Inside a private room at the Spring Moon Tavern.
Gordon Gao, now promoted to Minister of the Mesa City Special Police, raised his glass gratefully to Ian. "Minister, thank you for your support! I'm not good with words, so let me just drink to you first!"
After drinking with Gordon Gao, Ryan Zhang—now deputy minister and former captain of the First Battalion—also raised his glass to Ian.
Bang!
Suddenly, the private room door was kicked open.
Hannah Han stormed in, her eyes blazing with anger as she stared at Ian. "You bastard, I finally caught you!"
Thinking back on the past month, Hannah Han felt especially wronged and furious.
After Ian resigned, Hannah started searching for him. It took a lot of effort to find out he'd gone to the Homeworld, but by the time she arrived, he'd already returned to the Tenth Natural Star. She rushed back, only to find he had moved on to another planet.
After chasing Ian across five or six planets, Hannah finally couldn't take it anymore and returned to the Tenth Natural Star, deciding to wait for him there.
She didn't expect that waiting would work, but as soon as she got the news, she rushed to Spring Moon Tavern. Still burning with anger and frustration, she kicked open the private room door without hesitation.
Gordon Gao and Ryan Zhang both knew Hannah Han was the daughter of their top boss, and from the anger mixed with grievance in her eyes, they could tell her relationship with Ian wasn't simple. So, they made excuses and left, leaving only Hannah and Ian in the private room.
