Biological Siblings

Clearpool’s hand inside his sleeve clenched into a fist, veins bulging. “My mother—by a twist of fate—was also your mother.”

Sera Si froze, staring at him for a long moment. “What do you mean? Are you saying we’re siblings?”

Clearpool nodded. “A lot of people know. Including your sister Mira Si, and the three Elders of the court.”

“Impossible! Absolutely impossible!” Sera Si refused to believe it.

“You can call your sister and the three Elders here and ask them yourself,” Clearpool said.

Sera Si took out a Messenger Charm and summoned her sister Mira Si, along with the three Elders of the Heavenly Moon Empire.

Although Mira Si was only a spiritual cultivator and hadn’t yet ascended to immortality, she lived in the palace and arrived quickly.

Upon seeing her, Xiao Chen’s brow furrowed almost imperceptibly.

The three Elders, all immortals, soon arrived in the grand hall as well.

Seeing Clearpool, the three Elders immediately understood what was happening—some exchanged glances, others frowned and sighed.

“Clearpool says he was born of my mother? And you all knew?” Sera Si asked bluntly.

“Clearpool!” Mira Si frowned. “Why did you come back? Didn’t you promise me you’d never return?”

Sera Si grabbed her sister’s arm. “Mira Si, what do you mean?”

“Your Majesty…” Mira Si’s face was full of sorrow. “He really is our brother! Mother had him before she ascended the throne…”

“You’re lying! How could that be possible? Mother never told me!” Sera Si said. “She saw our feelings long ago—if Clearpool really was my brother, why wouldn’t she warn me?”

“Your Majesty, it’s true.” One of the Elders said. “When the late Empress was dying, you weren’t there. She told us and the Second Prince herself.”

The three Elders had served two or even three reigns, deeply respected and highly cultivated—they had no reason to lie about this.

Sera Si’s face grew even paler. She shook her head. “No… Impossible… How could Clearpool and I be real siblings…”

“Your Majesty, it’s true.” Mira Si produced a talisman. “Mother’s Clarity Charm from her final moments is proof.”

She offered up the Clarity Charm with both hands.

Sera Si stared at the Clarity Charm, not only refusing to take it but even backing away a few steps as if it were some kind of monster.

Clearpool sighed, reached out to take it, and said, “I’ve seen this Clarity Charm myself. Take a look.”

As he spoke, he was about to reveal the contents of the talisman.

“Wait!” Mira Si called out. “This is a state secret—outsiders must leave.”

She looked at Lucia Lu, Sean Shaw, and Faustin.

Sera Si’s attention was fixed on the talisman, and she waved them away.

The three of them didn’t dare linger and had to leave.

Outside, Faustin sighed. “I never expected this… There’s nothing more awkward and cruel in the world, is there?”

Lucia Lu said, “In ancient times, the Divine Race kept their bloodlines pure by marrying siblings. Even now, many Divine clans still do this. But among mortals, it’s impossible.”

Faustin nodded. “Mortals care more about ethics than the Divine Realm. For siblings to be together—it’s absolutely forbidden!”

“Faustin.” At that moment, Sean Shaw called out.

“Fifth Highness, what is it?” Faustin asked.

“Give me a Surveillance Talisman.”

“Oh…” Faustin obediently handed him the Surveillance Talisman.

Sean Shaw vanished from sight in an instant.
