"You really know how to plan ahead. So you can use this chance to ask them about what you want?" Hannah Nangong said with a smile.

"That's right. Maybe I really came to the right place." Evan Yang replied with a smile.

"Be careful, don't get in over your head and end up losing yourself in the process." Hannah Nangong said, worried about Evan.

"Relax, I've got plenty of tricks up my sleeve." Evan Yang smiled.

"Alright, I hope so." Hannah Nangong replied.

Evan Yang smiled, then continued to observe the situation outside. Soon, a suspicious figure appeared outside the manor. Seeing this, Chase Chu asked curiously, "Who are you?"

"I'm Evan Yang's friend. I have something urgent to discuss with him," the person said.

"Evan Yang's friend?" Chase Chu said, half skeptical.

Evan Yang naturally heard their conversation. He knew he had no friends here, and after thinking for a moment, he guessed who was behind this.

"So you've made your move, huh? I'll play along." Evan Yang muttered to himself. He got up and said to Hannah Nangong, "I have something to take care of outside."

"Oh? So what business does the Li Family have in sending you here?" Evan smiled.

"Do you have time to sit outside in the garden?" the man said with a smile.

"The Li Family hasn't exactly been friendly to me. Why should I go with you?" Evan asked curiously, though he knew in his heart that the Li Family wouldn't invite him out for no reason.

"What’s wrong, Brother Yang? Lost your nerve?" The man laughed at Evan’s question.

"This isn’t about courage. You should at least tell me what you want me to do," Evan replied with a smile.

"I want to introduce you to a friend," the man thought for a moment, then smiled.

"Why is the Li Family so interested in me? You even want to find friends for me?" Evan asked, confused.

"You should know what the contest is for, right? It’s to select outstanding talents for the major powers and ancient sects and clans. Don’t you feel even a little tempted?" The man gave Evan a strange smile.

Evan was puzzled. He truly had no interest in joining any ancient sect or clan, but he did want to ask them some things. After thinking for a moment, he smiled and said, "The Li Family is certainly thorough in its planning."

"Our Li Family thinks highly of you. Even if you’re not willing to join us now, we can still point you in the right direction. The person I’m about to introduce you to is from an ancient sect—his cultivation arts are truly extraordinary," the man said with a smile.

"With you saying that, I really can't refuse now," Evan Yang said with a smile.

"No pressure, but if you don't go, don't regret it later," the man said, convinced Evan wouldn't resist the temptation, so he smiled.

Evan smiled and said, "Alright then, I'm actually curious to see who your Li Family wants to introduce me to."

"You won't be disappointed," the man replied with a smile, but secretly muttered, "Kid, soon this will be your last moment."

After a short while, Evan followed the man to a large garden. With someone leading the way, they quickly arrived. At a stone table sat a person. Before he spoke, Evan thought he looked quite handsome, but when he opened his mouth...

Evan was stunned for a moment, because the man's voice carried a trace of femininity, making it feel strangely unbalanced.

"I've heard your name ever since I returned, Brother Yang. Now I finally get to see you for myself," the man said with a smile.

"May I ask who you are in the Li Family?" Evan asked.

"I'm from the Li Family, but I cultivate in the Yin Spirit Sect," Li Huai replied with a smile.

"Yin Spirit Sect?" Evan asked, puzzled—this was the first time he'd heard of such a sect.

"I know you've never heard of it, but you'll understand soon enough. Have a seat. I know you and the Li Family have some history, but our Li Family truly appreciates people like you. This cup of wine is my apology to you on behalf of the Li Family," Li Huai said with a smile.

Evan didn't know what the other party was really up to, but he was sure the Li Family wouldn't invite him here just for a casual drink. And what exactly was this Yin Spirit Sect?

"I'm actually quite interested in the Yin Spirit Sect. Could you explain it to me, Brother Li?" Evan asked with a smile.

"Of course. Let's drink as I explain," Li Huai replied, smiling.

So Evan sat down. The wine was already prepared. This was clearly a setup, but Evan wasn't afraid—he drank the wine anyway. He also noticed the man who'd brought him here making a move: a faint, colorless gas drifted from his body.

That gas floated over to Evan. After thinking for a moment, Evan absorbed it. The instant he did, his whole body went weak and the cup in his hand slipped and fell.

"Haha, Brother Yang, how does it feel?" Li Huai laughed.

"You..." Evan said in shock.

"That's right. The wine itself wasn't poisoned, but you inhaled what you shouldn't have. So now it's poisoned. Feeling weak all over, aren't you?" the man behind him said with a smile.

"So that's how it is," Evan snorted coldly.
