Decisive Battle on the Life‑and‑Death Platform I

1/19/2026

Just as the crowd waited anxiously, Evan Chu used his Shifting Position movement technique to arrive on the Life-and-Death Platform.

Dressed in pure white, Evan Chu stood on the Life-and-Death Platform, looking utterly carefree. Seeing the surprised looks from the crowd below, he smiled.

"Sorry about that, I accidentally overslept. Sorry to keep you all waiting! I'll give everyone a satisfying answer soon."

Ryan Ouyang saw that as soon as Evan Chu stepped onto the stage, all eyes that had been on him were instantly stolen away. He was immediately furious, a flash of killing intent passing over his face.

"Evan Chu, you sure act high and mighty, huh? Making me wait this long—what, are you scared and just stalling for time so you can live a little longer?"

"You? Just looking at your ridiculous hair makes me sick. So, how do you want to die? I'll give you two options: one, I cut you to pieces; two, I leave your corpse whole. The first is quick and painless, the second means endless torment." Evan Chu kept smiling from start to finish.

His voice wasn't loud, but everyone could hear him clearly. Evan Chu's arrogance was even more outrageous than Ryan Ouyang's, and the crowd was even more eager for their deadly showdown to begin.

"Roxanne, Lin Feng sounds so confident—did he break through again?" Lily Tang whispered from the side.

"I don't know for sure. He always acts cautiously, so even though I don't know his exact strength right now, I can guarantee he'll win—and win beautifully."

"How come? I've been a little worried about him, honestly!" Lily Tang accidentally blurted out.

Lily, I know you like Lin Feng too. Don't worry—if he's willing, I won't mind. Lin Feng winning is a given, because he's my man!" Roxanne Lin said it naturally, without a trace of shyness.

Maybe she said it on purpose, but both fighters onstage could hear every word. Ryan Ouyang shot Roxanne Lin a vicious glare, thinking, 'Stupid girl, once I kill that brat, I'll show you my real power. Haven't touched a woman in ages—I'll make sure you pass out for two days before my anger is gone.'

Evan Chu simply nodded toward Roxanne Lin's direction, still standing on the Life-and-Death Platform with his elegant, carefree posture.

Ryan Ouyang was getting impatient. He glared at Evan Chu and shouted, "Evan Chu, I was going to spare your life, but since you don't know what's good for you, after you die I'll take good care of your woman!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Ryan moved. Stellar force flooded his palm as he attacked Evan Chu at lightning speed.

Ryan Ouyang's goal was simple: with so many people watching, if he could seriously injure or kill Evan Chu in a single move, his reputation would soar again. Maybe even Roxanne Lin would see him in a new light.

After all, plenty of girls like strong experts. Too bad his thinking was just disgusting.

Ryan Ouyang's attack was incredibly fast. The distance between him and Evan Chu was only five meters, and in an instant his palm was right in front of Evan.

"Despicable! He didn't even give a warning before attacking—what a scumbag!" Gus Bullard cursed from below.

Evan Chu casually met the attack with a palm of his own, using about eighty percent of his strength. If he got knocked flying by the very first move, he'd lose too much face.

"Overestimating yourself!" Ryan Ouyang saw Evan Chu not dodging but meeting his palm head-on, and laughed to himself. He was using his full strength—no way someone at second-level Earth Martial could take it.

Bang! A huge crash rang out as their palms collided. Everyone thought Evan Chu would be sent flying, but something completely unexpected happened.

Evan Chu only took a few steps back before stopping, while Ryan Ouyang was knocked several meters away by the counter-shock before landing. He didn't fall, though—so at least he was lucky.

This result from the very first move made Ryan Ouyang lose face. A thousand curses flashed through his mind: "How does this brat have such strong palm strength? That's impossible!"

Staring at Evan Chu in disbelief, he asked, "How much strength did you use in that palm?"

Evan Chu hadn't expected such a stupid question. "Of course I used all my strength against you. Why would I hold back? But honestly, your strength isn't much. That 'Ordinary Class One Number One' title really fits you."

"You... you're asking for death!" Ryan Ouyang was completely enraged by Evan Chu's words. Being number one in Ordinary Class One was his greatest pride, and now, in front of everyone, Evan had belittled it.

"Star-Shatter Fist!" Powerful stellar force instantly flooded his body. Evan Chu could clearly see Ryan Ouyang's fist glowing with pale blue stellar force—this punch was way stronger than his earlier palm.

To make a fist glow with stellar force, Ryan Ouyang really did have some skill. Too bad he was facing Evan Chu, so his defeat was already set in stone.

Just as Ryan Ouyang's fist was two meters away, Evan Chu chained Shifting Position twice, sliding nearly ten meters sideways. Ryan's attack hit nothing but air.

"Such speed! What kind of movement technique is that?" Quite a few people in the crowd cried out in shock.

Ever since Evan Chu broke through to the Earth Martial Realm, his Shifting Position had become even faster and covered more distance. Ryan Ouyang's punch didn't even touch Evan's afterimage—it was a complete miss.

The force of the punch whipped up a fierce wind on the Life-and-Death Platform, leaving Ryan Ouyang's explosive hairstyle a total mess. His angry face looked just like a demon.

"Stop dodging, coward! If you've got guts, fight me head-on! Only losers keep running away!" Ryan Ouyang yelled.

Evan Chu smiled at Ryan and said, "It's not that I want to dodge—I'm just worried that if I strike, you'll be dead in an instant. I'm still thinking about how you should die. You haven't answered me yet!"

Arrogant—totally arrogant. That was what everyone who didn't know Evan Chu was thinking.

"Quinn Wu, do you think that guy will win?" A purple-robed youth in the crowd asked his companion.

"That kid's no ordinary student. If you can live in a single dorm at the academy, you must be strong. I bet if he really attacks, Ryan Ouyang won't last three moves."

"That strong? How many moves would you need to beat Ryan Ouyang?"

"Probably three moves. After all, he's third-level Earth Martial, and I'm only one level higher."

Ryan Ouyang reaching third-level Earth Martial was proof of his talent, and Evan Chu's words actually made him calm down.

That earlier probe was clearly fake—this kid deliberately acted like he was only second-level Earth Martial to make me drop my guard. I almost fell for it; his scheming runs deep.

At this moment, Ryan Ouyang finally saw Evan Chu as a true rival. A large, red-glowing saber appeared in his hand...
