Duel on the Life-and-Death Platform Part Two

1/19/2026

Ryan Ouyang’s Firecloud Saber glowed a fierce red, standing out brilliantly on the Life-and-Death Platform. The blade radiated a chilling killing intent, making it clear this weapon was anything but ordinary.

Looks like he’s about to use his weapon. At third-level Earth Martial Realm, a weapon-based attack—especially a martial technique—packs way more punch than fists or palms. Since you’re using a weapon, I’ll play along! Evan Chu smirked to himself, then drew a battered, rust-stained Frostbane Sword from his storage belt.

To the crowd, Evan Chu’s Frostbane Sword looked like nothing but scrap metal, while Ryan Ouyang’s Firecloud Saber was a divine treasure. People were stunned—was this kid crazy, or just dirt poor, to actually use such a weapon?

Ryan Ouyang felt a surge of pride. His Firecloud Saber was a top-tier weapon, one of the three greatest blades in his clan, gifted by the clan head when he entered Heavenly Dragon Academy.

Ryan Ouyang laughed when he saw Evan Chu’s sword. “You call that a weapon? Even the junk sold on street stalls is better than yours. If you don’t have a decent weapon, you’d better kneel and admit you were wrong. My offer still stands.”

“Is that so? You’ll see soon enough—my so-called scrap iron is the bane of divine weapons. Don’t believe me? Try it.” Evan Chu grinned. This sword was a gift from Xue Jinshan, a true ancient divine weapon. How could someone like Ryan Ouyang, a frog in a well, possibly understand?

“You don’t know what’s good for you! Next year on this day will be your death anniversary!” Ryan Ouyang couldn’t be bothered with more words. He leapt into the air, Firecloud Saber raised, and slashed down at Evan Chu, trailing a blur behind him.

As Ryan Ouyang attacked, real flames burst from the Firecloud Saber, the scorching heat making the air crackle. Even from a distance, Evan Chu felt the wave of heat—his clothes seemed ready to catch fire.

Is his martial art fused with fire attribute again? Why do so many of these guys have elemental techniques? Evan Chu wondered, secretly surprised.

But Evan Chu didn’t hesitate. Gripping his Frostbane Sword tighter, he shouted, “Tempest Shroud!”

The seventh form of Chasing Wind Sword Art erupted instantly. Now that Evan Chu had reached Earth Martial Realm, Tempest Shroud was far more powerful than before—if his attacks used to be like a trickling stream, now they were a raging river.

A tornado spun up in front of Evan Chu and hurtled toward Ryan Ouyang, drawing shouts of approval from the spectators below.

The tornado collided with the blazing heat wave, the two forces entwining and crackling loudly in midair.

Maybe Evan Chu underestimated Ryan Ouyang’s strength, or maybe Tempest Shroud just wasn’t strong enough. After less than five seconds, the tornado vanished.

The red glow on Ryan Ouyang’s Firecloud Saber had faded, but not disappeared. Ryan, saber in hand, broke through Evan Chu’s defenses and closed in.

He was too fast; even if Evan Chu tried Shifting Position, it was too late. His only option was to block the blade with Frostbane Sword, but the burning saber aura was unstoppable.

In a flash, Evan Chu raised Frostbane Sword to meet the incoming Firecloud Saber, but the fiery saber aura landed directly on his body.

The sheer force from the Firecloud Saber sent Evan Chu flying, the saber aura piercing into him and causing serious internal injuries. Blood splattered through the air as he fell.

“Evan!” “Evan!” Two voices—both women—cried out from the crowd at almost the same time.

Once a fight begins on the Life-and-Death Platform, no one is allowed to intervene except Dean Xavier. The two women could only watch helplessly as Evan Chu was injured, anxiety written all over their faces.
