Evan Yang finally understood Elder Liu's intentions: he was to unseal Mason Liu. With so many people present and unaware of Elder Liu's true strength, Evan knew it was impossible to fight, so after thinking it over, he smiled and said, "Aren't you afraid the Palace Lord will blame you, Elder Liu?"
"If you don't say anything, who would know?" Elder Liu replied with a smile.
"And you're not afraid I'll say something?" Evan smiled at Elder Liu.
Elder Liu's expression changed at Evan's words, but he quickly smiled and said, "Do you think I'm a fool? Here, take this and swallow it."
With that, he produced a brown pill and handed it to Evan.
"What is this?" Evan asked curiously.
"What do you think? It's Ten-Day Scourge Powder. It flares up once every ten days. You're an alchemist—you should know that." Elder Liu knew about Evan's achievements at Sacred Mountain; now he wanted to control Evan to unseal his grandson and turn this talent to his own use.
"Ten-Day Scourge Powder? Elder Liu, you wouldn't really make me take it, would you?" Evan asked, feigning curiosity.
"That's right. Swallow it, or don't bother going back." Elder Liu said in a commanding tone.
Evan secretly laughed to himself: "Poison? Once it enters my mouth, it might as well be a tonic."
"Well? Are you going to swallow it, or should I deal with you right now?" Elder Liu sneered.
"Alright, you win." Evan took the pill and swallowed it.
Seeing Evan swallow the pill, Elder Liu smiled and said, "Good. Now follow my instructions."
Elder Liu then explained Mason Liu's whereabouts to Evan, told him how to make contact, and even gave him a space ring that could hold living beings. However, the space inside was tiny, only about one percent the size of Evan's own living-being ring.
Evan took the ring and secretly laughed to himself: "A free treasure."
After giving his instructions, Elder Liu sent Evan back, so Evan returned to Fiend Palace.
He knew Elder Liu's men were watching closely, so he first went to the Crimson Sanction Hall. To draw attention, Evan also sent out some information as he walked.
When Owen Bing received the news, he was both surprised and delighted—Evan had finally returned. As everyone got the message, they hurried over, and soon Evan was surrounded by the crowd.
"Captain!" Owen Bing said with a smile.
Evan nodded and glanced around, discovering there were already over a hundred people here. "Who are all these brothers?"
"They're all recruits from the past few years," Owen Bing replied with a smile.
"I see. Not bad—they all look energetic. Keep leading them in the future," Evan said with a smile.
"Captain, where have you been all this time? Why are you only just coming back now?" Owen Bing asked curiously.
"I went to the Human World for a while—got held up by some things," Evan replied with a smile.
With over a hundred people gathered, they naturally drew a lot of attention. Originally inside her room, Faye Gale jumped up when her maid told her Evan had appeared, rushed outside, and sure enough saw Evan surrounded by the crowd.
"Damn it, only now you come back!" Faye Gale snorted coldly and walked toward Evan, but didn't go all the way over—there were too many people, and she didn't want to draw attention.
Evan noticed Faye Gale had come. His goal was achieved, so he asked Owen Bing and the others to head back, then made his way toward the Crimson Sanction Hall.
At the entrance to the Crimson Sanction Hall, Faye Gale walked over, slapped Evan, and said, "Kid, do you think I'm invisible?"
"Oh? What brings you here?" Evan asked, pretending to be surprised.
"Kid, you're faking it!" Faye Gale said angrily.
"Sorry, there were too many people just now—I didn't notice you," Evan sighed.
"You brat—" Faye Gale started to say, but seeing all the attention around them, Evan waved his hand and said, "Let's go somewhere else."
They left together. The person monitoring Evan hurried back to report.
When Elder Liu heard Faye Gale had come out halfway, he muttered, "Damn it, why did she show up?"
"No idea," the person replied.
After thinking for a moment, Elder Liu said, "You must contact him and make sure he shakes her off, then heads to the Crimson Sanction Hall."
"Alright," the person nodded.
Meanwhile, Evan was secretly transmitting his voice to Faye Gale, telling her everything about Elder Liu. When she heard it, she was furious and wanted to curse right then, but Evan stopped her: "Don't let the Liu Family know."
"They really made you take poison?" Faye Gale asked, holding back her anger.
Evan nodded and said, "Don't worry, I have my own ways—this won't be a problem."
"So what are you planning to do now?" Faye Gale asked curiously.
"The Liu Family is watching me. They want me to hurry up and rescue Mason, so I need your cooperation," Evan Yang said.
"How do you want me to cooperate? Just tell me," Faye replied bluntly.
"In a moment, I'll go to the Crimson Sanction Hall to rescue Mason. Then you find a chance to catch me—make sure you grab me—and have Elder Shaw give me a Mind-Veil Pill. Ask me who sent me to do this. Got it?" Evan explained.
"You mean...?" Faye responded.
"Yeah, this time Elder Liu needs to be implicated—not just his grandson." Evan grinned.
"Kid, I get it. Alright. But are you sure that poison isn't a problem?" Faye asked worriedly.
"No problem. When the interrogation happens, it'd be best to have some credible witnesses. Otherwise, Elder Liu might try to weasel out of it," Evan said with a smile.
"Relax. If he tries to play tricks, there's no way he'll get away with it!" Faye snorted coldly. After settling the timing with Evan, they each went their own way.
Evan had barely walked a few steps when he ran into people from the Liu Family. One of them said to Evan, "Elder Liu wants you to act quickly."
Evan nodded, "Yeah, got it."
The man nodded and left, continuing to supervise Evan. Evan soon arrived at the Crimson Sanction Hall, and using Elder Liu's method, slipped into the place where Mason Liu was held.
After opening the door, Evan walked in and saw Mason Liu was still unconscious.
"Kid, sorry for making you sleep so long," Evan thought to himself, then released Mason's seal.
He woke Mason Liu up. When Mason saw where he was, he exclaimed, "Where am I?"
"Of course, it's the Crimson Sanction Hall. Your grandfather sent me to rescue you," Evan said with a smile.
"You—you aren't..." Mason only knew Evan was the one who sealed him, but had no idea what happened after.
"Well, you have a powerful grandfather. Even though you were brought back to Fiend Palace and locked up in the Crimson Sanction Hall, your grandfather asked me to get you out," Evan replied.
"Are you sure?" Mason was terrified to find himself back in the Crimson Sanction Hall, but hearing his grandfather wanted to save him, he relaxed a bit and said, "Let's go, hurry up and get me out!"
"Yeah." Evan smiled, and just then, a crowd arrived outside.
