Nora Yun's Son and Daughter

1/4/2026

Eric Jiang rushed into the delivery room, overwhelmed with emotion. He pressed a reverent kiss to Molly Yun’s cheek. “Mrs. Jiang, you’ve worked so hard!”

Molly Yun's face was still pale, but she insisted on asking, "Is it a boy or a girl?"

“It’s one boy and one girl.” Eric Jiang gripped Molly Yun’s hand, his eyes reddened with excitement. “Mom was adamant about not letting us know the babies’ genders beforehand. Now all the stuff we prepared is a bit mixed up. The boy is wrapped in a red blanket.”

The Jiang family had always assumed they would have twin daughters—especially since Sharon Yun, the little girl, is destined to inherit the Yun Family's mystical legacy.

But in the end, they had a son and a daughter. Even Mrs. Jiang was surprised!

That made it even more surprising!

“Is the daughter older, or the son?” Molly Yun asked happily, already thinking of Sharon Yun, the next Astrologer of the Yun Family.

“The daughter was born ten minutes earlier,” Eric Jiang replied gently. “She looks so much like you—like you did in the past.”

Molly Yun’s eyes widened. “Like I used to?”

“Exactly.” Eric Jiang smiled. “Cecilia Gu is outside watching the babies, and honestly, Sharon looks just like her too.”

Molly Yun couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

That’s not a bad thing at all.

Cecilia Gu held the little girl tightly, unable to let go, and asked Mrs. Yun, “Mom, was I like this when I was little too?”

“You and your sister are twins. I don’t really remember you at that age, but when your sister was born, she looked exactly like this!” Mrs. Yun said emotionally. “My biggest regret in life is that I didn’t get a good look at you when you were born.”

Back then, Madam Yun hid the truth and told Mrs. Yun that Cecilia Gu had died, then took her away.

So after giving birth, Mrs. Yun was exhausted and believed it, never getting to see Cecilia Gu.

That became Mrs. Yun’s lifelong regret.

“Mom, it’s all in the past.” Cecilia Gu saw her mother getting sad and quickly changed the subject. “Let’s go show the babies to my sister! She hasn’t seen the little ones yet!”

“Alright.” Mrs. Yun and Cecilia Gu carried the babies into the room together.

When Molly Yun saw them come in, she quickly lifted her head to look at her two children—Sharon Yun and Jason Jiang, the new generation of mystical protectors.

These were her own flesh and blood—her eyes instantly filled with tears.

“Sis, let me raise the little girl in the future,” Cecilia Gu joked. “She looks so much like me!”

Mrs. Jiang couldn’t help but chime in, “What are you talking about, child? Our Jiang Family can easily raise a little girl. No need to send her off to her aunt!”

Everyone in the room burst out laughing.

Mrs. Jiang eagerly took the little girl in her arms and showered her with kisses. “Molly, you’re our Jiang Family’s hero! You’ve given us both a son and a daughter! Let Grandma take a look at our little girl—she’s so beautiful!”

Seeing Mrs. Jiang so delighted, Mrs. Yun and Cecilia Gu couldn’t help but laugh too.

Molly Yun also couldn’t help but smile.

“Get some rest,” Mrs. Yun said gently, wiping the sweat from her daughter’s brow. “We’re all here for you.”

Molly Yun nodded, watching as Cecilia Gu and Mrs. Yun left the room.

Time flew by, and soon the twins’ first month arrived.

In just one month, the two babies had grown a little.

The little girl looked more and more like Cecilia Gu, while the boy was the spitting image of his father. Even though he was still blowing bubbles in his swaddle, his features were so delicate you could already tell he’d grow up to be a real heartbreaker.

The Jiang Family’s full-month banquet was grand and lively.

Cecilia Gu and Charles Yin helped out the whole time, while Sophie Mo got roped in to greet and entertain guests up front.

Molly Yun had just finished her confinement period and was almost back to her usual self, but her family doted on her and wouldn’t let her handle any chores—she just needed to stay in her room and look after the twins.

“Sis, Grandma just sent over the babies’ names. Take a look.” Cecilia Gu handed Molly Yun a red slip of paper. “She picked their nicknames, but you get to decide their formal names.”

Molly Yun unfolded the paper. It listed the twins’ birth times and their names: Sharon Yun and Jason Jiang.

Molly Yun’s expression shifted slightly.

“Sis, what’s wrong?” Cecilia Gu teased the babies’ little feet, watching them kick around—so full of life and fun.

She remembered when Yina was born—she was just as restless.

Once the nannies and maids had left the room, Molly Yun turned to Cecilia Gu. “Grandma has confirmed it—the Astrologer’s legacy will be inherited by the little girl.”

“Sharon Yun?” Cecilia Gu immediately glanced at the sleepier little girl. “Is it her?”

Molly Yun nodded. “Grandma told me that if a new Astrologer is born, her name must have the character ‘Shuang’—meaning ‘twin’ or ‘double.’”

“Why is that?” Cecilia Gu asked, puzzled.

“I don’t know either,” Molly Yun said softly. “I always thought a boy would inherit the Astrologer’s bloodline, so our Yun Family would have a male heir to carry the legacy. Who knew it’d be a girl?”

Cecilia Gu was surprised too. She looked at the twins and said, “No matter what, they’re both Yun Family children. We’ll love them just the same.”

Molly Yun nodded, touching Sharon Yun’s tiny finger. “She’ll have to take the Yun surname. From now on, the Yun Family’s greatest responsibility will fall on this little girl. Before they were born, I didn’t feel it. But now, watching them grow, I can’t help but worry. She’s so small—can she really carry such a big legacy?”

Cecilia Gu sighed. “Sis, you worry too much! I’m her aunt, you’re her mom—between the two of us, she’ll have all the guidance she needs. There’s no way she’ll go astray!”

Molly Yun couldn’t help but laugh. “True, I never thought I’d be getting advice from you!”

Cecilia Gu made a funny face at Molly Yun. The sisters nudged and bumped each other, acting childish but having the time of their lives.

At the full-month banquet, Mr. and Mrs. Jiang couldn’t stop grinning. The congratulations from guests made them beam even brighter.

The Jiang Family had waited so many years to welcome a daughter-in-law and finally got both a grandson and granddaughter—two at once!

The Jiang Family members all felt a new sense of pride.

Someone knocked at the door. “Mrs. Jiang, there’s a strange guest outside. They brought a full-month gift and said it’s for you to review personally.”

“Let them in,” Molly Yun replied.

The Jiang Family has its own security standards—dangerous things would never make it inside.

So Molly Yun wasn’t worried about anything bad happening.

A servant brought the box in and placed it in front of Molly Yun and Cecilia Gu.

Cecilia Gu curiously took it. “I’m opening it now!”

Molly Yun nodded.

Cecilia Gu carefully untied the ribbon and opened the box. Inside was an exquisitely crafted clay figurine.

Cecilia Gu picked up the clay figurine and examined it closely, then burst out laughing. “Wow! This little figure looks just like Sharon Yun. Sis, look! It’s uncanny!”

Molly Yun reached out to take it, comparing it to the sleeping Sharon Yun. It really was a perfect likeness.

Who made this clay figurine?

Such incredible craftsmanship!

“Hey, there’s a card in here too.” Cecilia Gu spotted a card in the box, picked it up, and fell silent after reading it.

“What’s wrong?” Molly Yun reached for the card, and when she saw what was written, her expression suddenly changed.

On the card, in elegant English script: “For the future High Priest.”

Molly Yun grabbed the clay figurine and hurled it out the window, furious. “He just had to ruin this day for me!”

Cecilia Gu looked at the discarded figurine, then at the little girl sleeping soundly in her crib. “I don’t believe it. With so many of us protecting her, how could Yiran possibly take her away?”

“Exactly! I won’t let him get near the children!” Molly Yun said, her face dark with anger. “She’s my child—I won’t let anyone lay a finger on her!”

Cecilia Gu squeezed Molly Yun’s hand. “Don’t worry, I’m here too! I’m her aunt!”

Molly Yun pursed her lips and finally relaxed. “He’s such a troublemaker.”

When the babies turned one hundred days old, their names were finally settled.

Sharon Yun took her mother’s surname. Instead of a formal name, she was simply called Sharon Yun and entered into the Yun Family genealogy.

The Jiang Family, out of respect for the Yun Family’s wishes, agreed to add the mother’s surname for the boy. After discussion, they used the name Madam Yun had divined: Jason Jiang Yun. He was entered into the Jiang Family genealogy as the next heir.

Sharon Yun was the older sister, but she loved to sleep. In her first hundred days, she did nothing but eat and sleep, growing chubby and adorable.

Jason Jiang Yun was the opposite—energetic and cried loudly.

No matter how much her brother cried, it never seemed to wake his sister.

If the doctor hadn’t repeatedly assured her the baby was healthy, Molly Yun would’ve worried that Sharon Yun had a problem.

Sharon Yun was a little sleep goddess—she slept through her first three months.

After three months, she finally opened her eyes to play for a while.

Cecilia Gu accidentally noticed that Sharon Yun’s eyes were different from her brother’s.

Sharon Yun’s eyes were especially dark and bright.

Cecilia Gu had raised children herself and knew that newborns’ eyes are usually blue, not black.

At first, Cecilia Gu was a little worried. But then she remembered—Sharon Yun is destined to become the next Astrologer of the Yun Family. It makes sense her eyes would be different.

“Mommy, Mommy, I want to see my little brother and sister!” Yina Yin called out noisily from outside the door.

“Shh!” Cecilia Gu put a finger to her lips. “Don’t wake your siblings. Be good, Yina. Wait until they wake up, okay?”

“Okay.” Yina Yin reluctantly let go of her mommy’s finger and left.

She’d prepared a bunch of slingshots to share with her little brother and sister!

But Mommy said her siblings were still too young to play.

Well, she’d wait until they were older and play together then!

Yes, that’s the plan!
