Charles Yin answered without hesitation, "I can't speak for others, but for me, there is only one love in this life—and only once."
Cecilia Gu took the tablet and tapped exit.
Charles Yin's eyes flickered. "Cecilia, what are you..."
"If everyone was like you, only able to love once in a lifetime, then for Adrian, my sister must also be his only love," Cecilia said softly, head lowered. "When we were saving my sister just now, I could clearly see the despair and pain in Adrian's eyes. No matter why he first approached her, he's already lost. He's fallen for her."
Charles Yin chuckled and pulled Cecilia into his arms. "Alright, whatever you say."
"Charles, am I getting softer lately?" Cecilia whispered. "When I saw my sister walk away without looking back, it felt like I could hear the sound of Adrian's pure heart breaking. He didn't say a word, but he said everything. My sister and I have been able to read each other's hearts since three years ago. So I could hear her pain too. She does feel something for Adrian, just... she's more rational, clearer about what she wants."
"The Astrologer of the Yun Family and the Yun Family woman who gives birth to the next Astrologer are destined by fate. There's a natural, instinctive attraction between them at the soul level. I understand the bond between my sister and Adrian, so I feel even more for her," Cecilia's mood grew heavier. "Why does my sister have to face all this pain and these choices? Before, it was the engagement between the Yun and Mo families, and now it's about the birth of the next Astrologer. I just feel so sorry for her. But there's nothing I can do."
"Adrian kidnapped my sister, and my sister schemed against Adrian. Their lives are destined to be turbulent. This ill-fated bond will torment them both deeply. Since my sister has taken revenge in her own way, let's let Adrian go," Cecilia closed her eyes. "If we kill Adrian, my sister will only be burdened with even more guilt."
"I understand." Charles Yin gently kissed Cecilia's forehead. "I'll pretend I didn't see anything today."
Cecilia Gu nodded firmly. "It's just a shame for my brother-in-law."
"It's not really a shame," Charles Yin chuckled. "At least Molly Yun has always known exactly what she wants. That's enough."
Charles Yin knew that Eric Jiang would come around eventually.
Molly Yun's attitude had never changed.
Just like Cecilia Gu, isn't there always Max Mo in the background, unwavering and devoted?
What could Charles Yin do?
He just had to let things be.
Could he really point at Max Mo and tell him not to love Cecilia Gu?
So, even if Eric Jiang knows Adrian loves Molly Yun, he can only pretend not to care.
Unless he no longer wants to be with Molly Yun.
Cecilia Gu returned to Molly Yun's side, staring blankly at her sister's face.
The trajectories of the two sisters' lives were remarkably similar.
I just hope Adrian doesn't end up like Max Mo...
Cecilia Gu sighed softly, silently praying for her sister.
The plane circled and landed. The moment Nora Yun stepped off, Eric Jiang pulled her into his arms. "Nora, I'm sorry I couldn't protect you."
Leaning against Eric Jiang's chest, Nora Yun finally breathed a deep sigh of relief. Overwhelmed with emotion, she couldn't say a word—she could only hold him tightly, responding to his feelings.
Mrs. Yun and Mr. Yun saw both daughters return safely and finally exchanged a relieved glance.
"Don't just stand here—let's go home first," Charles Yin said. "Let's get a check-up while we're at it."
"Yes, yes, let's hurry home! We'll talk there!" Mrs. Yun said. "Nora, you're pregnant now, you can't tire yourself out. Come on, let's go home right away—I'll take care of you!"
Nora Yun and Cecilia Gu exchanged a glance and both showed a helpless expression before following the group home.
A group of doctors arrived to give Nora Yun a check-up.
Once everyone was sure the two little ones in Nora Yun's belly were healthy, they finally relaxed.
Mrs. Jiang held Nora Yun's hand and said, "It's all my fault. If I'd handled the Su Family's issues myself, none of this would have happened."
"Mom, even if it wasn't the Su Family, there would have been something else. I have to go out sometimes, right?" Nora Yun comforted her. "I came back safe and sound, didn't I? That person didn't get away with anything!"
"Good, good!" Mrs. Jiang said through gritted teeth. "If I see him again, I won't let him off! How dare he hurt my daughter-in-law and my precious grandchild—unbelievable!"
Nora Yun just smiled and didn't echo Mrs. Jiang's words.
From a distance, Cecilia Gu watched her sister and saw the guilt in her eyes. So she helped change the subject: "My sister's carrying twins! Of our generation, only she inherited the twin gene. Mom, why didn't I get the twin gene?"
Mrs. Yun took Cecilia Gu's hand and laughed, "What? Ethan and Yina aren't enough trouble for you? You want even more kids to drive you crazy?"
Cecilia Gu immediately pouted, "I'm just saying!"
Everyone laughed together, and the topic of Adrian was lightly brushed aside.
Time flew by.
Half a year passed in the blink of an eye.
Nora Yun's belly grew bigger and bigger.
A twin pregnancy makes the belly bigger than a single pregnancy.
So after half a year, Nora Yun could barely walk.
Rona Muir, who had been running wild outside, finally had a pang of conscience and returned to N City to help with the business, giving Cecilia Gu and Nora Yun time to prepare for the upcoming birth.
That morning, Nora Yun had just gotten up and hadn't even washed up with the help of the servants when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her belly. "Ah! I'm going into labor! Quick, get someone!"
The whole Jiang Family sprang into action.
The hospital's delivery room had been prepared three months earlier.
They were always ready for the birth.
However, Nora Yun's labor never started, so the room remained empty.
Now that labor had begun, she could be sent straight to the hospital's delivery room.
When Cecilia Gu heard Nora Yun was in labor, she didn't even wash her face—she grabbed her car keys and rushed to the hospital.
She arrived just as Nora Yun was having contractions, and seeing her sister in so much pain, Cecilia Gu panicked. "Is natural birth okay? Maybe a C-section would be better! There are two babies, after all!"
Mrs. Yun quickly stopped Cecilia Gu. "Child, don't make a fuss! Wasn't your own birth just like this?"
But... but... Cecilia Gu was so anxious she couldn't get the words out.
Giving birth yourself is one thing; watching someone else go through it is another.
Cecilia Gu had almost forgotten the pain of her own labor.
Now, seeing Nora Yun in such pain, all she could do was feel sorry for her sister.
Charles Yin soon rushed over too. Seeing his wife so flustered, he quickly took her away. "Mom, Cecilia's too nervous. I'll take her to calm down."
"Go on, go on." Mrs. Yun shooed Charles Yin and Cecilia Gu away. "You're just making things more chaotic."
Mrs. Jiang was anxious too, but seeing Cecilia Gu like this, she couldn't help but say, "Cecilia's just worried. The bond between these sisters is truly enviable."
Mrs. Yun nodded with a smile. "Yes, seeing the sisters support each other puts my mind at ease."
Maybe the Jiang and Yin families' medical teams were just too strong, or maybe the Yun family had utmost confidence in their own medicine.
So even though it was twins, everyone decided on a natural birth.
And these two children were especially strong. Less than two hours after Molly Yun was wheeled into the delivery room, a clear cry rang out!
Waa waa waa...
Waa waa waa... another cry followed.
Both children were born safely!
"They're born, they're born, finally they're born!" Mrs. Yun and Mrs. Jiang were so excited they were in tears!
Meanwhile, at the Yun Family in K City, a giant water tank in front of Old Mrs. Yun held a jellyfish that suddenly blew a bubble.
Old Mrs. Yun's dry face suddenly bloomed into a smile, and she relaxed. "Finally! The Yun Family's new Astrologer has arrived."
Far away, in a cave deep in the primeval forest.
In front of Adrian, the turtle shell split in two with a crack.
Adrian slowly opened his eyes, looked at the broken shell, and a bitter smile appeared on his lips. "Nora, your child is finally born. The new Astrologer has arrived."
After saying this, Adrian reached out to pick up the broken shell, his eyes flickering.
Suddenly, his fingers tightened around the shell, and his eyes snapped up, looking into the distance with a calm expression.
"I won't give up on this child! Now that she's born, let her become the next High Priest!" Adrian stood tall and left the cave.
Outside the cave, members of the Dye Tribe were kneeling at the entrance—there was a whole crowd.
Everyone was chanting and singing ritual songs.
They were singing blessings for the soon-to-be-born High Priest.
Adrian slowly raised his hand and spoke in a strange accent: "People of the Dye Tribe."
Everyone prostrated themselves on the ground, obediently following the High Priest's orders.
"I will temporarily leave the tribe to bring your new High Priest back." Adrian pressed his hands down, looking every bit the shaman. "Pray for our tribe! Cheer for our new High Priest!"
The crowd immediately erupted in cheers.
On the open ground, the crowd sang and danced, celebrating the arrival of the new High Priest.
Adrian didn't join the celebration, but turned and disappeared into the primeval forest.
From today on, he would seal away all his emotions.
He would live only for the tribe.
Little one, I'm coming to find you.
