Too Filthy, Stay Away

Faster, faster!

Even without stepping outside, Serena Feng knew the enemy was coming in fierce and strong. The villa’s guards could hold them off for a couple of hours, but only with a heavy price.

Inside the operating room, Serena Feng pushed herself to the absolute limit, speeding up as much as she could. She barely dared to breathe, terrified of wasting even a second.

The tension in the operating room was no less than on the battlefield—maybe even more intense. Apart from the steady drip of machines and the sound of fluids, there was only the sharp ring of Serena’s scalpel. She wielded the surgical blade to perfection...

Maybe it was the battle raging outside, maybe it was her desperation to save a life—Serena tapped into a strength she’d never known. Her hands moved so fast that Dr. Redwater and Dr. Marcus Guile couldn’t even follow.

Of course, such a burst of power came at a cost. After an hour, Serena’s face had gone pale, her wrist was trembling, and her tendons ached.

With her nerves stretched to the breaking point, Serena’s stamina and focus were dangerously depleted. Simon Sun saw this and was sick with worry, terrified she’d collapse before the surgery was done...

Simon wanted to tell Serena not to push so hard, but every time he tried, the words caught in his throat. He knew advice was useless now. The explosions outside hadn’t stopped; his master couldn’t relax. All he could do was pray that Ninth Royal Uncle Nolan could buy them more time.

Serena knew she was close to her limit. This body, while well-trained, was still a bit too weak. She hadn’t felt it during the craniotomy, but heart surgery was far more exhausting—her lack of stamina was painfully obvious now.

Huff... Serena seized the chance to catch her breath, blinking her sore eyes. The heart repair was down to its final stage. She had to hold on—she could not collapse at the operating table and let all her efforts go to waste.
