Wendy Fang's Confession

1/4/2026

Winston Fan was taken aback. "What did you just say?"

"I said, I like you." Wendy Fang bit her lip and said, "I’ve secretly liked you since you were still in school. I know I’m not good enough for you. I thought it was just a fleeting crush, but later I realized my feelings were real."

"You like me?" Winston Fan couldn’t help but laugh. "What do you like about me?"

"I..." Wendy Fang’s eyes reddened. "I don’t know. I just do."

"Little girl, do you even know what liking someone means? Alright, let’s pretend you didn’t say anything today." Winston Fan rejected her. "My wife can’t be someone who doesn’t know anything."

Wendy Fang got anxious. "Senior, I’m serious! I’ve liked you since I first entered school! Senior, please don’t reject me so quickly. I’ll prove I can be a good girlfriend! If there’s anything I don’t know, I’ll learn! I got into A University, so that proves I’m not stupid! Just give me time, I can do it!"

Winston Fan tapped the table and said, "Do you know I’m currently pursuing Yina Yin, the heiress of Yin Enterprises?"

"I know." Wendy Fang lowered her eyes in sadness and said, "I know I’m not worthy to be compared with Miss Yin. But liking someone isn’t something you can control! Senior, maybe you’ll laugh at me for being overconfident, but I really can’t help myself. That’s why I’m confessing to you, please give me a chance!"

"Miss Yin is amazing, but that’s exactly why she has so many admirers. Those young masters competing for her are all privileged and good-looking. How confident are you that you’ll succeed? I’m different. I come from an ordinary background, and I barely have any admirers. Even if someone pursues me, he’s no match for you. I’d devote myself to you and live a simple life, with no surprises."

"I’ve already been hired as a gardener at Yulan Estates under Yin Enterprises. Unless something unexpected happens, my future work will all be with Yin Enterprises. I’m not here to spy on Miss Yin for you—my position wouldn’t allow it anyway. But just from what I’ve seen in one day, I can tell how popular Miss Yin is. Yes, I admit she’s an extremely outstanding woman, and I have no competitiveness compared to her. But I have something she doesn’t—a heart that loves you wholeheartedly. If I’m not mistaken, Miss Yin hasn’t fallen for you yet, right, Senior?"

Winston Fan laughed, "Those three reasons of yours actually sound pretty convincing."

Wendy Fang nodded vigorously. "Mm-hmm!"

"But you forgot something. I can choose to get married, or not get married at all—I have the right to choose." Winston Fan said leisurely, "If Yina Yin doesn’t choose me in the end, I won’t lose anything. She won’t stop working with me just because her marital status changes. Besides, living single for life doesn’t sound so bad. Marrying someone I don’t love and who brings nothing to the table is a losing deal for me. Don’t you think?"

Wendy Fang’s face paled. "If you don’t give it a try, how do you know you won’t fall for me?"

"Alright, you’re still young. Focus on your work and your life." Winston Fan waved his hand. "My time’s up, I need to get back to work!"

"Wait!" Wendy Fang became anxious, stepping forward and blurting out, "Senior Fan, I still have something to say!"

"You’ve got five more minutes."

Wendy Fang took a deep breath and spoke rapidly, "Senior Fan, you say you could stay single for life, but how is that possible? Maybe someone else could do it, but you’re the CEO of the Fan Family, the future head of the house—how could you never get married or have kids? Even if you want to, would your family let you? In the end, you’ll have to follow your family’s arrangements and get married and have children! Besides, the Fan Family is so big and powerful, it’s like a royal family—there has to be an heir, right?"

"Since you need an heir, why not have a child with a woman who’s actually smart? I got into Aston University with a score of 728, kept excellent grades for four years, passed English Level 6, Japanese Level 2, interned at a multinational company, and now landed a job at Yin Enterprises all on my own. That proves my genes aren’t bad! I might not have top-tier noble genes, but among ordinary people, I’m pretty good, right?"

"Instead of following your family’s arrangements and marrying someone whose background you don’t know, why not consider me—someone whose story and character you know inside and out? Senior Fan, you’d have plenty of time to investigate my background and social circle, cutting off any risk to the family at the root."

I’m in great health. My dad has four brothers and three sisters, and my mom has three sisters and two brothers. Our family’s always had lots of kids—we have really good fertility genes. I’m confident I could give you several children to continue your perfect genes. I don’t want much—I don’t need villas, luxury cars, yachts, or designer bags to boost my status. I have my own job and hobbies, and I’m perfectly happy on my own. I won’t need too much of your time. You can focus on your career, and I’ll take care of the kids and the family as best I can, so you have nothing to worry about.

I can always be there for our kids, help them with their studies, and give them all the motherly love they need. I believe you’d be a great father too. If we work together, our children’s future will be bright.

For you, I’ll treat you with respect. For your parents, I’ll be obedient and caring. For our kids, I’ll be both a teacher and a friend. I may not be able to help you at work, but I’ll take care of your life at home. I’ll keep learning and improving myself, using what I learn to help our little family. So, Senior Fan, please don’t reject me outright—just give me a chance, okay?

Winston Fan couldn’t help but laugh as he watched Wendy Fang try so hard to sell herself. He lifted his slender fingers to his chin and asked, "You’re really that confident in yourself?"

"Yes!" Wendy Fang nodded vigorously.

"Then let me think about it, alright?" Winston Fan checked his watch. "I need to get back to work. A good girlfriend shouldn’t keep me from my job."

Only then did Wendy Fang reluctantly step back half a pace. "Alright, I won’t bother you at work then. Senior, I’ll wait for your answer."

With that, Wendy Fang turned and ran off, limping as she went.

Winston Fan just shook his head speechlessly.

He’d seen plenty of self-recommendations before—like the ancient story of Mao Sui volunteering himself.

But someone as enthusiastic as Wendy Fang—this was a first.

Winston Fan quickly put the little episode out of his mind and pressed the phone on his desk. "Call the secretary in."

After leaving, Wendy Fang didn’t know where to go. She just sat by the roadside, feeling dejected.

She thought back to everything she’d just said, and couldn’t help but feel her cheeks burning.

She’d actually said it all out loud!

After bottling it up for so long, saying everything at once felt incredibly freeing.

But there was also a nagging worry.

Would Senior Fan think she was too bold and passionate, and reject her because of it?

But if she didn’t confess, he’d choose Miss Yin!

She’d regret it for the rest of her life!

Sigh, what a headache!

Elsewhere, Yina Yin was talking to Cherry Miller about this.

"That new girl Wendy Fang, the one who was just hired at the villa—did you know she’s Winston Fan’s girlfriend?" Yina Yin asked.

Cherry Miller looked surprised. "Girlfriend? I’ve never heard that before! That’s nonsense! We all know Winston Fan’s reputation. If he had a girlfriend, why would he personally visit the Chairman and Mrs. Fan? Unless he’s got a death wish. If he’s messing around with another woman and still dares to ask for marriage, the Chairman would skin him alive."

Yina Yin rested her chin on her hand. "But that girl seemed so sure... Whatever, I can’t be bothered to argue. I don’t have any special feelings for Winston Fan anyway. We’re great business partners, but that doesn’t mean he’s husband material."

Cherry Miller teased, "Wow, knocked out of the running already?"

Yina Yin shot Cherry Miller a look. "Like I don’t have enough trouble already? One less suitor is fine by me!"

"What about Miles Gu... hasn’t he come to see you these past few days?" Cherry Miller asked.

"No." Yina Yin paused, her eyes dimming a bit. "Seems like something happened in England, so he had to rush back."

No need to guess—Earl Field must have gone back and started dealing with those idiots.

Once Earl Field steps in, those people definitely won’t be able to handle it.

When they can’t handle it, they’ll either turn to Miles Gu for help or threaten him to take the heat from Earl Field.

All of this is just par for the course.

Yina Yin didn’t spell it all out—partly because she was annoyed, and partly because she held a grudge against Miles Gu.

But Cherry Miller got it instantly.

When it came to Miles Gu, Cherry Miller didn’t know what to say either.

As long as the Second Persona doesn’t voluntarily give up control of the body, the Primary Persona can’t come back.

But if the Primary Persona never returns, Yina Yin’s feelings will never have a home.

Yina Yin could wait a year, or ten years—but not twenty or fifty.

Her feelings, in the end, needed to be grounded in reality.

At that point, she’d truly be stuck between a rock and a hard place.

'Let’s stop talking about him.' Yina Yin changed the subject. 'Here, all the files that piled up over the past few days are yours! I need to get back to working on the new project.'

Cherry Miller stretched lazily. "Ah, such a busy life! When will I ever get a break?"

'When you retire!' Yina Yin teased. 'Don’t even think about it for the next few decades.'

Just as they were talking, Yina Yin’s phone rang. She saw it was Fang Lingling calling.

'Aunt Fang? Is there something you need?' Yina Yin asked in surprise.

'Nothing urgent. I’m at Yulan Estates right now—do you have time to come out for a meal?' Fang Lingling asked with a bright smile.
