Evan Chu and Selena Yale stepped through the circular stone gate once more and stopped in front of the first stone door—the entrance to the Weapon Vault, where countless divine weapons surely awaited.
After checking that there were no obvious mechanisms or buttons around the door, Evan pushed hard against it. The stone door slowly opened, sending clouds of dust tumbling down from above.
The two of them entered. The secret chamber wasn’t very large—just about the size of a normal room. Inside, several dozen weapons were arranged: blades, swords, and more, all covered in thick dust.
Evan casually picked up a sword, looked it over, and said, “This sword should be an upper-grade spirit weapon. The blade is sharp—it’s a pretty decent piece.”
“The lowest grade here is still upper-grade spirit weapon. Looks like Lord Frostbane’s collection was pretty impressive back in the day. But compared to his old Frostbane Sword, these are nothing. That sword was one of the Seven Prime Relics.” Selena said.
“You mean this sword?” Evan immediately took out the Frostbane Sword.
“That’s the Frostbane Sword? You actually got the Frostbane Sword?” Selena was clearly shocked, especially seeing the blade so rusted and battered—it was hard to believe.
“That’s right, this is the Frostbane Sword. But it’s sealed, so right now it’s just an exceptionally sharp weapon. Only after breaking the seal can it show its true power.” Evan said with a helpless smile.
“So how do you break the seal? If even you can’t do it, it must be a real headache!” Selena asked.
“Exactly. The seal is extremely powerful. You need Heavenward Spirit Water and Sacred Snow Lotus to break it—but both are incredibly rare, and supposedly only found on the Divine Battlefield. Selena, have you ever heard of them?” Evan asked.
“I’ve heard of both. I remember someone put up Heavenward Spirit Water for auction at the Yellow Ram Auction House a few years ago. As for the Sacred Snow Lotus, I’ve only ever seen it mentioned in ancient texts. It only forms in the freezing Coldflame Pool, and you need a Seven-Color Jade Lotus to bloom before it can turn into Sacred Snow Lotus. It’s incredibly rare.” Selena said.
Evan perked up at another clue about the Sacred Snow Lotus. “Is there anything special about the Seven-Color Jade Lotus? A lotus with seven colors sounds pretty extraordinary!”
“The Seven-Color Jade Lotus is truly magical. Its flowers don’t bloom in all seven colors at once—usually it’s only two or three. Only when the Sacred Snow Lotus fully matures do the petals show all seven colors. That’s extremely rare and really just comes down to luck.” Selena explained.
“I’ve always been lucky. I mean, even a cold-as-ice beauty like you ended up as my woman—what could be rarer than that?” Evan said with a carefree grin.
“You just love to run your mouth. I only became your woman because I had no choice—who told you to be so powerful that you got me pregnant in one shot? But the Seven-Color Jade Lotus is different. It grows in the Coldflame Pool, and just the Coldflame alone is enough to scare most people off, let alone sneaking in to get a Sacred Snow Lotus.” Selena shot Evan a glare.
“That doesn’t worry me. Coldflame can’t hurt me. What I’m concerned about is how to get into the Divine Battlefield in the first place. The whole place is sealed, and breaking in is insanely hard.” Evan said.
“Stop stressing over all that. You should focus on what to do with these weapons—take them all or leave some behind?” Selena said.
“Let’s just take a portion. There are too many disciples in the sect, and it’d be impossible to split everything evenly. Let’s see what treasures are in the other secret chambers first.” Evan casually picked out a few weapons and stowed them in his storage ring, planning to hand them out to the elders and protectors later.
The second secret chamber was the Martial Arts Vault. Evan opened it, but contrary to his expectations, it wasn’t packed with manuals—in fact, there were only three martial technique books in the whole room.
Seeing just three technique books, Evan felt a bit disappointed. But he knew these must be extremely high-level manuals. If they ever leaked out, it would cause a huge stir—and for the sect, they’d be a massive boost in strength.
Evan picked up one of the books and found that its rank was at least high-Earth grade, maybe even Heaven-grade.
“These technique books are pretty good, Linfeng. Aren’t you going to practice one?” Selena asked.
“No need. My martial arts are Saint-rank—these can’t compare. Let’s go check the Pill Vault and see what’s inside. If only there’s a Netherghost Violet Orchid.” Evan said.
But when Evan opened the pill room, the sight inside left him totally disappointed—deeply disappointed.
The Pill Vault was less than five square meters, so cramped that the two of them barely fit. Inside, there was only a stone table with two porcelain bottles on it—one red, one green.
“What the hell! This is just unfair—only two bottles of pills? I thought there’d be shelves of rare herbs and elixirs, but there’s barely anything. Lord Frostbane really wasn’t generous!” Evan grumbled, frustrated.
“Linfeng, at least check the pills first. Maybe they’re sixth-rank or higher. Since Lord Frostbane was an ancient powerhouse, anything he left behind must be extraordinary—the secret chamber’s entrance alone proves that.” Selena said.
Evan picked up one bottle and checked it. There was a label, but after so many years, the writing had faded and become unreadable.
He picked up the other bottle—same story, totally illegible. Even if these were sixth-rank or higher, you couldn’t just take them blindly. What if one of them was poison? That’d be a disaster.
Just as Evan was feeling totally dejected, the Sword Spirit spoke up: “Open both bottles and let me check the scent—I might be able to identify them. Anything Lord Frostbane left should be good stuff.”
With the Sword Spirit offering help, Evan was more than happy to oblige. He immediately opened one bottle and poured out a pill. It was red, with a strong medicinal fragrance—clearly something extraordinary.
After a moment, the Sword Spirit said, “This should be a seventh-rank Bloodspirit Pellet. It’s an excellent healing pill—while it can’t literally revive the dead, as long as someone’s got half a life left, it can pull them back from the brink. And with such strong fragrance, the porcelain bottle itself must be a rare treasure, too.”
Hearing this, Evan was overjoyed. It might not be much use to him, but for other sect members, it was an absolute lifesaver. He quickly sealed the bottle and then opened the second one…
