Formation

He met her gaze.

For this one look, the women of the Bai clan have waited countless lifetimes.

Lucy Bai's eyes grew dazed, then suddenly turned resolute.

She forced down her emotions, sitting there and staring coldly at Master Lin from Seacrest.

The elder beside her narrowed his eyes, sizing him up.

“This Master Lin from Seacrest... I never expected him to be so young. His strength is terrifying—far beyond what any ordinary person could ever reach.”

“I think it's safe to say now—this Master Lin from Seacrest is exactly the one your Bai clan has been waiting for.”

“It's just that your clan owes a debt to that woman from your ancestors—whether she was immortal or demon, no one knows. But her power was truly terrifying. As for this young man before us, what exactly is his connection to her?”

The elder murmured softly.

But no one could answer his question.

This was a question Lucy Bai herself couldn't figure out.

The woman who saved the Bai clan's ancestors—how could that have been just a hundred years ago?

Yet she made the women of the Bai clan wait generation after generation for someone who would only appear centuries later.

If you really told that story, probably nobody would believe it.

Before now—

Lucy Bai herself had all kinds of doubts, but just now, the moment she saw Master Lin from Seacrest—

Lucy Bai felt an overwhelming certainty in her heart.

This young man before her was the one the Bai clan had waited for.

It was an indescribable instinct.

Lucy Bai watched his every move.

But that boy over there didn't even bother to turn his head or give her another look.

“This Master Lin from Seacrest even has a few bluffing tricks up his sleeve.”

You Han spoke quietly from the side.

Grandmaster You squinted, sizing him up, but said nothing.

The massive bronze sarcophagus standing there was especially quiet.

Its mouth was pointed straight at Master Lin from Seacrest, and the huge iron chains hung silently in the air.

“Since you're here, there's no need for more words.”

Grandmaster Victor Zhou nodded. “I've been famous in Hong Kong for years.”

“Over the years, plenty have tried to step on my head and make a name for themselves—just wishful thinking.”

“But every last one of those people met a dead end.”

“Have you really thought it through?”

Grandmaster Victor Zhou spoke slowly.

He remained calm, not showing the slightest hint of fear despite all the strange sights Master Lin from Seacrest had brought.

“Of course.”

As Master Lin from Seacrest spoke, he stepped onto the lightning cliff of Coldspire Peak.

He glanced past Grandmaster Victor Zhou, looking toward Aiden Zhou, whose face was pale and twisted.

Aiden Zhou was desperately using every bit of his power to connect with Coldspire Peak's array formation.

His fingers flew behind his back, forming all sorts of hand seals.

“But before anything else, I need to deal with this baldy.”

Master Lin from Seacrest turned to Aiden Zhou.

Baldy.

When Master Lin from Seacrest said those two words, Aiden Zhou's face changed instantly.

“Who are you calling baldy!”

He glared at Master Lin from Seacrest.

Having had his hair burned off by Yvette Locke, this was the most humiliating thing he'd ever experienced.

Because of the bald head, Aiden Zhou now felt less confident even facing Lucy Bai.

“Last time, I spared you, but now you've captured my person. That crime can't be forgiven.”

Master Lin from Seacrest looked at him, slowly shaking his head, voice clear and cold.

“Your person?”

Aiden Zhou's face darkened, gritting his teeth: “That girl ran up Coldspire Peak alone, even had the nerve to demand my master roll out!”

“Go on, tell me—should I have caught her or not?”

Aiden Zhou was furious.

To make sure Master Lin from Seacrest stayed here today—and to buy himself enough time to fully merge with the array formation—

He had to stall for a while.

“She's half my disciple. If she wants to come to Coldspire Peak, you should step aside.

If she tells your master to roll out, your master should roll out.

If she charges up the mountain and you don't let her through, that's your fault.

If she comes for your master and your master doesn't show, that's your master's fault.

Both master and disciple are in the wrong. That's all there is to it.

Master Lin from Seacrest's face was perfectly calm.

Grandmaster Victor Zhou frowned at these words.

“This Master Lin from Seacrest is actually pretty interesting.”

Grandmaster You spoke with keen interest.

“Looks like he's really planning to take on both Victor Zhou and Aiden Zhou.”

You Han nodded, secretly shocked.

He truly hadn't expected Master Lin from Seacrest to say such shameless things in such a calm tone.

This level of blatant favoritism was almost too much.

Yvette Locke, listening to his words, looked at Master Lin from Seacrest with bright eyes, her face full of excitement.

She looked like she couldn't wait to rush over to him.

But she was still tied up, unable to move.

“A hero in his youth—this Master Lin from Seacrest sure talks big.”

The elder standing beside Lucy Bai spoke softly: “But who knows if his skills are as big as his words.”

“I see Aiden Zhou over there, after all that preparation, is about to finish merging with the formation.”

“Soon, Master Lin from Seacrest will face an Aiden Zhou who only grows stronger the longer he fights.”

“Inside Coldspire Peak's array, Master Lin from Seacrest's inner power will be crazily squeezed out, and whatever is drained from him will flow straight into Aiden Zhou.”

“One rises, one falls—even if Master Lin from Seacrest has heaven-defying skills, what good will it do?”

The elder shook his head and sighed.

Lucy Bai stood there, her expression calm.

Her gaze never left Master Lin from Seacrest.

“If he really dies here, maybe he wasn't the one after all—just a misunderstanding.”

Lucy Bai spoke softly: “I believe the man our Bai clan waited generations for can't just be all talk.”

She finished speaking and said no more.

“So it's all my fault and my master's, huh?”

Aiden Zhou's face was cold, rage in his eyes: “Since you, Master Lin from Seacrest, dare to talk to me like that, I won't hold back anymore.”

“Let me deal with you for my master!”

“Come on, Master Lin from Seacrest. Last time I fought your disciple, I held back—that's how she got lucky and won.”

“If I go all out, not only will she be captured, you'll end up the same way!”

Aiden Zhou's face was wild, about to say more.

“Formation ready?”

Suddenly, everyone heard the young man's quiet, casual words.

Everyone froze, shocked to the core.
