The Formation Rises

"What did you say?"

Hearing Evan Lin speak, Aiden Zhou—who had just been ranting nonstop—instantly turned pale, his expression twisting with embarrassment.

"You want to stall for time? I'll give you time."

Evan Lin looked at him: "I'm also curious—where does a weakling like you get the guts to brag in front of me?"

"I'm guessing the whole Coldspire Peak is already covered in some kind of formation. The feeling is subtle, but I still sensed it."

"So, if your formation is ready, go ahead and use it."

"If it's not ready yet, I can wait a bit longer."

After Evan finished speaking, Aiden Zhou's face was already contorted with embarrassment.

The elder nearby was momentarily stunned, eyes full of surprise: "Master Lin from Seacrest can actually tell there's a formation here?"

"He might just be guessing."

At this moment, Lucy Bai suddenly spoke up. She looked at Evan Lin: "Since Coldspire Peak is the place where Hong Kong's three great masters discuss the Dao, it can't possibly be simple. Anyone who thinks a bit would guess there's probably a formation here."

"But what surprises me is, even knowing there might be a formation here, and even knowing Aiden Zhou is stalling for time, he still acts totally unconcerned—giving him time, waiting for him to activate the array."

"That kind of arrogant attitude could easily push him into an abyss of no return."

Lucy Bai frowned slightly.

She looked at Evan Lin, gazing at the youth's confident face. For some reason, part of her felt admiration, but there was also an unspeakable sense of aversion.

She disliked the attitude of this Master Lin from Seacrest—so full of himself.

Or maybe it was his indifferent expression toward everyone?

Lucy Bai herself wasn't sure.

"Interesting—this kid actually claims he can sense the formation?"

Grandmaster You stood there, looking at Grandmaster Victor Zhou: "Ever since this array was laid, anyone who trespassed here basically never left alive."

"So, anything about the formation almost never leaks out. Yet that kid over there was so confident when he said it—either he's just guessing, or, Grandmaster Victor Zhou, your disciple Aiden Zhou spent so many years and still can't master the array. When he activates it, he actually lets signs slip out."

"Your disciple really is dull-witted. Why not, after today, hand over the Coldspire Peak Grand Array to my disciple You Han? What do you think?"

Grandmaster You's words were full of ridicule.

He was surprised that Evan Lin could see through the existence of the formation here, and even more surprised that Evan knew Aiden Zhou was the one controlling it.

To be honest, in this situation, most people would assume the formation is in the hands of the strongest present.

Like Grandmaster Victor Zhou, who was about to duel him.

Aiden Zhou's endless ranting should have been a ploy to buy time for his master, Grandmaster Victor Zhou, to activate the array.

But this Master Lin from Seacrest locked onto Aiden Zhou right from the start. That kind of sharp insight was enough to surprise anyone.

Surprise is surprise, though.

Grandmaster You still didn't really take this Master Lin from Seacrest seriously.

In his eyes, even if this Master Lin from Seacrest is monstrously talented, he's still young.

Just looking at his appearance—even if he started cultivating from birth, how long could he possibly have trained?

At most, twenty years.

No matter how strong twenty years of cultivation might be, it can't compare to someone like Grandmaster You, who has trained for decades.

"Since you know there's a formation here, why not just surrender?"

Grandmaster Victor Zhou ignored Grandmaster You's words.

He looked at Evan Lin, coldly: "The Coldspire Peak formation was laid years ago by myself, Grandmaster You, and Grandmaster Phoenix Bai—the three of us together."

"As Hong Kong's three great masters, we represent the strongest cultivation power on the whole island."

"We stand at the very top of Hong Kong, and our strength is far beyond what a kid like you can imagine."

Grandmaster Victor Zhou spoke in an unhurried tone.

His gaze stayed locked on Evan Lin, as if trying to see right through him from head to toe.

But the youth standing before him remained calm from start to finish.

Though he was right there, Evan Lin gave off the feeling of standing at a distance—almost untouchable.

He seemed to exist in a completely different world from everyone else present.

The three great masters of Hong Kong had joined forces to lay the formation at Coldspire Peak. Anyone else hearing that would have been terrified.

But this Master Lin from Seacrest looked utterly indifferent, showing no reaction at all.

That attitude left Grandmaster Victor Zhou feeling a strange, unspoken irritation.

Like he'd been ignored in front of everyone.

"Just three fools working together."

Evan Lin shook his head: "The formation you think is so powerful? To me, it's no more than a kid playing in the dirt, molding a little clay figure."

"If you're willing, why not control the formation and fight me yourself?"

Evan Lin looked at Grandmaster Victor Zhou, not in any hurry.

After he spoke,

Lucy Bai stayed silent, and the elder beside her had an indescribable look on his face.

"This kid's got plenty of pride."

You Han looked at Evan Lin, squinting, his tone icy: "Too bad, pride alone won't save you if you lack brains."

"The formation laid by the three great masters—he doesn't show the slightest bit of respect!"

"Does he really think he's some kind of immortal?"

You Han's tone was cold.

Grandmaster You shook his head: "Just watch quietly."

"Just wait and see—when the formation activates, let's see what kind of face this kid makes."

Grandmaster You examined Evan Lin with interest.

"The formation's power is limited, but Aiden Zhou can unleash all its strength."

Grandmaster Victor Zhou looked at Evan Lin: "And you can rest assured."

"While you fight my disciple, I'll stand aside as his master and won't interfere."

"But if you can't hold out and beg for mercy, I'll have Aiden Zhou deactivate the formation."

Grandmaster Victor Zhou had just finished speaking.

"Master, stop wasting words with him!"

Aiden Zhou, already fired up, suddenly widened his eyes. He glared at Evan Lin, his face twisted with rage, and growled, "The formation is ready!"

"Now I'll show you what true despair feels like!"

"Master Lin from Seacrest, aren't you supposed to be strong?"

"I want to see for myself—let's see how tough and arrogant you are inside the formation!"

"Coldspire Formation—activate!"
