Do Not Speak Further

Eric Yu’s eyes were full of mockery and disdain. "As far as I know, tickets for Serena’s fan meeting are almost impossible to get. You’ve been standing here all this time, so I’m guessing you don’t have a ticket, right?"

Sorry, my tickets are pretty limited too. I could ask Serena for a favor and get you in, but honestly, I don’t see the point.

So I’d suggest you just head home. If you can actually step through that door, then all my years must’ve been spent growing up on garbage.

After finishing, Eric Yu gave a scornful laugh and reached out, trying to grab Lynn Chen’s wrist to lead her inside.

But Lynn instinctively dodged, slipping out of Eric’s grasp. Eric felt a chill inside, a flash of annoyance, but kept his expression perfectly calm.

He acted as if nothing had happened, raising his voice: "Come on, I’ll take you guys in. We should be able to see Serena soon—I haven’t seen her in ages."

Wendy Wen rolled her eyes at Evan Lin, then turned away, excited to see Serena Tong. Lynn Chen glanced at Evan, her eyes showing a hint of hidden complexity, before she finally looked away.

Just as Eric Yu and the others were about to head inside, he suddenly heard a voice from nearby.

"Evan, you came too?"

Just then, Stella Huang, who’d finished prepping her interview notes inside, came out and spotted Evan Lin. Her face lit up and she called out to him.

Everyone saw Stella Huang in a sharp professional outfit stride over without hesitation, grabbing Evan Lin’s arm and pulling him straight inside.

She didn’t even pause as she passed Eric Yu.

"Why didn’t you say you were coming? When I asked earlier, you said you weren’t interested!" Stella said, clearly happy to see Evan.

Just as Stella was about to pull Evan inside, Eric Yu’s face changed and he shouted, "Wait! He doesn’t have a ticket!"

"Ticket?"

Stella Huang turned to Eric Yu, frowning slightly. "Sorry, I’m a reporter. I’m allowed to bring one guest in. Do you have any objections?"

Stella recognized Eric Yu and was clearly annoyed by his shouting.

"That won’t work! He’s not even a real Serena fan. This is a fan meeting for Serena, and as her friend, I absolutely won’t let some random outsider sneak in!" Eric Yu was getting aggressive.

His face went pale, then flushed—he’d just claimed Evan Lin could never get inside, but now a reporter was inviting him in, smacking Eric Yu’s pride right in the face.

"And who are you to say that?" Stella frowned, momentarily stunned.

A nearby security guard saw trouble brewing and hurried over. On one side was Eric Yu, the local idol; on the other, a reporter from Capitalview TV Station. He didn’t dare take sides.

"Because I’m Serena’s friend! That guy is obviously up to something, and I suspect he’s here just to cause trouble. You say you’re with Capitalview TV Station? Call your station chief! I want to ask him myself!"

Eric Yu gave a cold laugh.

His father, Quentin Yu, was president of the Capitalview Chamber of Commerce and often brokered deals between company bosses and the TV Station, building up serious connections.

Previously, when Stella Huang wanted to write a column about Evan Lin, Quentin Yu personally called the station and had it switched to a puff piece about Eric Yu.

Listening to Eric Yu’s aggressive words, Stella Huang was left speechless and frustrated.

“What’s wrong, Stella? What happened?”

Not far away, a man in a suit walked over, adjusting his glasses. He was Stella Huang’s department head, personally overseeing coverage of Serena Tong’s fan meeting since it was big news.

“Chief, I want to bring my friend into the venue, but he won’t allow it!” Stella said simply, summarizing the situation.

But the department head didn’t let her finish, waving her off and interrupting. His eyes lit up as he hurried over to Eric Yu, smiling: “Young Master Yu, here to see Miss Serena? You can go onstage for a photo and say a few words—you’ve worked together before, after all.”

No need for any speeches. I’m just here to see Serena, not to steal the spotlight. But you’d better keep your TV Station staff in line—don’t think a little privilege lets you bring anyone you want inside. If something goes wrong, can your station handle the consequences?

Eric Yu snorted coldly, then looked at Evan Lin: "This guy—he’s not even a real Serena fan, as far as I know. But your staff seems determined to bring him in. What’s the deal, huh?"

The department head’s face darkened, then he instantly changed attitude, not even glancing at Evan Lin. He turned to Stella Huang and snapped: "Stella, is your interview draft finished? Why are you out here? Get back inside!"

“Chief!” Stella’s face changed, feeling wronged inside.

“Still talking? Young Master Yu and Miss Serena are friends—would he lie? Why are you bringing all these people here? Do you know how many outlets want to interview Miss Serena? Stay at your post! If you miss the chance, you’ll pay for it!”

The department head’s repeated scolding made Stella’s eyes redden.

Eric Yu looked smug, chin raised. Lynn Chen and Wendy Wen frowned, clearly annoyed by his behavior.

Mason He and his friends watched, feeling especially pleased.

“Evan, why not just beg Brother Eric? He’s super generous—if you kneel and plead, I bet he’ll take you inside!” Mason He joked, still holding a grudge against Evan.

If it weren’t for Evan Lin, Mason He wouldn’t be so humiliated at Capitalview First High.

Utterly embarrassing!

“Well, I might consider it,” Eric Yu sneered. Everyone looked at Evan, waiting for a show.

“Why are you still standing there? If you miss the interview, your bonus is gone!” the department head shouted at Stella.

Stella bit her lip, looking at Evan with deep apology.

“Enough. All this barking—are you even a department head? Say one more word and you’ll be on sick leave next month.”
