Unexpected Visitor

12/15/2025

I stared in astonishment, my eyes wide, at the swirl of black before me. It had followed Sylvia Blue here, a force from the Land of Darkness, the power of darkness itself. I was shocked by everything unfolding in front of me.

Sylvia was already fighting four opponents. Emperor God and Phantom Sage calmly blocked her furious attacks, while Tan Tian seemed to be waiting for something. Sylvia Yan had vanished again, and the surface of Divine Law was being completely enveloped by the red cloud.

They still wanted to move Divine Law. Although Divine Law was impacted by my current strength, it was already severely damaged, leaking vast amounts of pure energy. I stood motionless in the air, unable to move. John Chou was still beside me. I had no idea what significance the power of darkness, brought by Sylvia's forceful arrival, held for this world.

"Listen up, brother. If human strength isn't enough, we need to consider other options. For example, the power that arises in the human world, completely different from any other force. What do you think would happen?"

With a thunderous boom, at the instant Sylvia pulled the Dawn Moon trigger, a massive silver beam struck Emperor God's body. He was instantly immobilized, completely restrained by the silver light. Phantom Sage, turning into a pale blue stream of energy, flew toward Sylvia and began his assault.

Pale blue ice spikes shot out from the mist. Sylvia unhesitatingly shattered them with her Wish Prayer sword. Tan Tian appeared before her.

"Didn't you understand what I said? Little girl, with your current abilities, you can't possibly defeat me."

"Even if I can't beat you, I won't let you succeed."

Sylvia roared in anger. Tan Tian said nothing, dodging her sword in an instant. Phantom Sage suddenly wrapped Sylvia's body, immobilizing her for a moment. In the pale blue, silver-glowing sphere, Emperor God was completely unable to move, his face twisted in pain.

"Since you all want to see so badly, I'll show you what the power of that world is truly like."

In the instant Sylvia Blue spoke, a deafening boom erupted. A massive silver light burst forth, and within it, blackness began to emerge. I watched quietly as the Phantom Greatsword slowly materialized. In that moment, the pure, untainted atmosphere around us seemed to ignite, billowing with thick black smoke.

With a rush, Tan Tian moved directly beside the Phantom Greatsword and gripped its hilt. Instantly, a sizzling sound rang out—his hand was completely incinerated to ash by a mysterious black energy. Yet Tan Tian still raised his other hand and grasped the Phantom Greatsword once more.

"This sword holds the power of Corpse State. Little girl, I know very well your ties to our realm. If you send this thing back, their power won't cross over. Are you really willing to destroy everything as it is now?"

Tan Tian's eyes widened, and his entire body turned pitch black. The heads of black beasts appeared across his skin. Pressing down on the Phantom Greatsword, he unleashed a thunderous force—and the sword vanished into thin air.

Sylvia Blue stared in disbelief, and in that instant, I saw the Dawn Moon pistol and Wish Prayer sword vanish from her hands. Sylvia herself crashed heavily to the ground near us.

With a thud, several hands reached out to catch Sylvia. Ji Yuner, Divine Yan, and Ouyang Meng rushed over. Sylvia wiped the blood from her cheek and tried to get back up.

"Don't be reckless, little girl. This is your father's decision. Even you can't change it so easily. Besides me, perhaps only you truly understand your father."

Sylvia turned her sorrowful gaze toward me and John Chou, eyes filled with disbelief.

"No more fighting. Please."

Lady Meng appeared before us once again, eyes brimming with grief as she looked at me. My body was already paralyzed—if I moved even slightly, I would crumble into dust. I knew that after wielding such immense power, my body was utterly destroyed; only my consciousness remained. I was now, undeniably, a dead man.

"Do you have anything you want to say, Ethan Zhang?"

Threads of orange ghostly filaments rained down, weaving into my body. For a moment, I felt able to move again, and my body didn't crumble into dust with every motion.

"Why, Lady Meng? Why..."

"No reason, Ethan Zhang. I've seen everything you've done, but it's all over now. We'll take the Divine Law."

I looked at Lady Meng calmly, feeling nothing inside. John Chou smiled faintly beside me.

"You think taking the Divine Law will be that easy? From what I've seen, it'll take at least two or three hours. And in that time, anything could change. Do you really think victory is certain?"

I glanced at John Chou beside me. The fact that Emperor God and the others hadn't attacked yet was probably for the best—because Sylvia Blue was here. When she drew the Phantom Greatsword, I saw Tan Tian hesitate, then press the sword back down.

Now, they had no intention of killing the Ghost Sovereigns. Sylvia was weak, but if she fought with everything she had, they wouldn't come out unscathed either.

"What's wrong? Weren't you planning to finish us off today? Why aren't you coming down?"

John Chou spoke coldly, then smirked and laughed. The ones above didn't react—they seemed used to such words. All they wanted now was to seize the Divine Law.

Both sides were locked in a standoff. Sylvia Blue came to my side.

"Let me see."

Sylvia reached out to touch me, but John Chou immediately stopped her.

"It's pointless. After channeling such immense power, there's no way you’ll be fine. Nothing you do can help now."

"John Chou..."

Sylvia screamed in anger, swinging her fist at John Chou’s face. With a bang, John Chou caught her fist.

"We're in the same boat. Your power is incredibly weak now. Every world has its own laws—this is the realm of humans and ghosts. You can't just leap here straight from the Dark Banquet. Come with me, little girl. I want to talk to you."

With that, John Chou led Sylvia down below. At that moment, Redhair floated over to me.

"Ethan Zhang, when will you pay back your debt to me?"

I blinked, then replied calmly.

"Of course, I can’t pay it back anymore."

Redhair burst out laughing.

"I have one rule—if someone owes me, I’ll always collect. You still owe me so much. How could I let you just die? Hey..."

Redhair looked up quietly at Lady Meng floating above.

"Think of something, old woman."

Lady Meng stared at me coldly and shook her head.

"I am powerless."

"Is there really nothing you can do? All of this is your fault, you traitorous old hag!"

Redhair raised a hand in anger, but only a wisp of black smoke appeared in his palm. His strength was spent. In this realm, the Ghost Sovereigns could barely recover their power.

I quietly observed everything below. John Chou was still talking to Sylvia Blue—I couldn’t hear their words, but Sylvia’s tense expression seemed to ease.

After a while, the two of them returned from above. Sylvia glared fiercely at John Chou.

"John Chou, if you dare lie to me, I swear..."

"Relax. I don’t trick children. Just watch quietly."

John Chou’s gaze turned icy as he looked up at Tan Tian and the others. The Red Cloud had nearly covered the surface of the Divine Law. Then John Chou glanced at the black mist swirling around my body and spoke coldly.

"Enjoying the view? How long are you going to watch before you show yourself?"

Everyone was puzzled by John Chou’s words and turned to look at me. The black mist thickened, growing larger and denser. I stared wide-eyed.

"Xu Fu..."

Ji Yuner called out immediately, and Divine Yan raised his sword, thrusting it forward. With a clang, Xu Fu caught Divine Yan’s sword. Xu Fu’s long black hair whipped in front of me as he emerged from the darkness.

"What a spectacle! Ha! Both sides have gathered, but the Immortality Society is missing. Does this grand show mean anything without us? Ha ha ha..."

Xu Fu’s eyes gleamed with arrogance as he shoved Divine Yan’s sword aside.

"You’re all so weak now—the seven of you, and even Emperor God. I’ve never seen you like this before. It’s a disaster for you all. Today’s events... ha ha ha..."

"What are you planning, Xu Fu? Didn’t you and the Ghost Ancestor’s soul go to the Buddhist-Taoist realm? You should already be..."

Ber Ziran asked, and Tan Tian above looked suspicious. Emperor God and Phantom Sage also grew anxious.

"Enough—I’m only here to keep the feast going. After all, what’s a feast without me? Ha ha ha."

Xu Fu acted as if no one else mattered, laughing maniacally as he floated upward.

"What do you want, Xu Fu?"

Lady Meng spoke coldly.

"I told you, how could this grand show go on without me—or the Immortality Society?"

With a rush, Phantom Sage appeared behind Xu Fu, raising a hand.
