Spirit of the Star Core

2/14/2026

Evan Chu was deeply stung by those words. Make the world bear the Chu name? Easier said than done.

More than a dozen Holy Emperors were present. They weren’t fools who’d let Evan Chu play them—if he made any rash moves, the peaceful situation would instantly erupt into battle.

“Sigh! Forget it! If I, Evan Chu, want to achieve something, I’ll seek, I’ll search, I’ll fight, I’ll snatch—any method is fair game! But there’s one thing I won’t do… I won’t steal the fruit of a friend!”

Evan Chu still couldn’t cross that line in his heart.

The Star Core was found by the Mansfield Family, and it was Desmond Mansfield who asked for his help. In every sense, Evan Chu had no right to covet this Star Core. It wasn’t that he didn’t dare—he simply couldn’t. Mansfield wasn’t an enemy, and using despicable means against a friend wasn’t Evan Chu’s way.

So, he gave up.

When Evan Chu’s inner spirits—Chaos Spirit, Elemental Spirit Pearl, Geocore Soul Mother, and Sea-Eye Spirit Spring—heard he’d given up, they all cursed him furiously: ‘Womanly softness!’

You couldn’t really blame them. They weren’t human; all they saw was a chance to absorb power, caring nothing for human ties or messy emotions. So it was perfectly normal that they couldn’t understand.

But honestly, Evan Chu’s decision here really was a pity.

Mason Mansfield hadn’t noticed Evan Chu’s inner struggle. He saw that everything was ready, smiled, and said, “Since we’re prepared, let’s begin. Evan, please take your place on the Stellar Stone Platform.”

"Alright!"

Evan Chu sat firmly atop the platform. In an instant, the Starry Void Sigil floated above his head, radiating a fierce power.

The moment the Sigil appeared, all the Holy Emperors below tensed up. They could feel the surge of power—just this brief flash was enough to unsettle them. It was as if this young early-stage Saint Venerable really could shatter all their spatial domains using the Sigil alone!

Seeing this, Mason Mansfield was overjoyed. "Good! Hahaha!"

Right now, Mason wished Evan Chu was as strong as possible. The stronger Evan was, the higher their odds of successfully opening a Trial World from the Star Core.

Evan Chu’s ten fingers danced, slowly unlocking the power of the Starry Void Sigil. He fused his life-origin into it, binding his fate to the Sigil—live and die as one. Each time he released a thread of power, the terrifying waves grew even stronger.

It looked like tying his life to the Starry Void Sigil was a huge risk, but in reality, it was the only way to unleash its most primal power. Only by merging completely could Evan Chu truly control the Sigil’s strength.

Otherwise, any method that didn’t fuse life-origin was just borrowing the Sigil, not truly mastering it. If someone snatched it away, you’d be helpless. But once fused, you could control both your own life and the Sigil’s survival.

If an enemy tried to steal it, at the very least you could choose mutual destruction—if I can’t have it, neither can you!

Maybe only someone as crazy as Evan Chu would dare to do this.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh… The power unleashed by the Starry Void Sigil swept across the space. For a moment, the Holy Emperors beneath the Stellar Stone Platform almost doubted their own eyes—they started to think Evan Chu wasn’t just early Saint Venerable, but a true Holy Emperor!

"Patriarch, maybe we should really put our hopes on him! We’ve been underestimating him… With power like this, he’s no weaker than an ordinary Holy Emperor."

"Mm! You’re not the only one who noticed. So, everyone, when it’s time to assist, make sure you give it your all!"

"Understood! We all get it! We’ve been waiting for this moment a long time!"

Boom!

As they spoke, Evan Chu finally unlocked the third seal on the Starry Void Sigil. His face flushed instantly—he nearly couldn’t hold out!

The Starry Void Sigil itself had nine power seals. Each one required immense strength to break and a solid foundation to withstand.

Right now, unlocking the third seal was already Evan Chu’s absolute limit. Any further, and he’d be courting disaster.

"Three seals! For a heaven-defying treasure like the Starry Void Sigil, even most mid-stage Holy Emperors would struggle to unlock the third!"

"Enough talk—bring up the hexagonal Star Core!"

"Yes, Patriarch!"

With the patriarch’s order, none of the Holy Emperors dared slack off. When the family first gave up on acting against Evan Chu, everyone felt hopeless—was the Mansfield Family doomed to fail again?

A dead gray cloud hung over everyone’s hearts. They all thought: if failure is inevitable, then what’s the point of anything we do next?

But now things were different. Evan Chu’s power erupted for real, giving them new hope!

Maybe he couldn’t match Mason Mansfield, the peak late-stage Holy Emperor Patriarch, but Evan Chu could already unleash power rivaling a mid-stage Holy Emperor. That meant the Mansfield Family might still succeed!

All the Holy Emperors instantly erupted with powerful Stellar Power. Energy barriers covered the entire world, and the hexagonal Star Core was brought out from the sealing formation, fully revealed before Evan Chu.

Evan Chu didn’t know any of this. All he did was unleash the full power of the Starry Void Sigil, merging the hexagonal Star Core’s force with the Sigil, just as Mason Mansfield had asked.

More than a dozen streams of Stellar Power surged into Evan Chu’s body, instantly washing away all his pain. The flush in his face faded too.

Feeling a new surge of power, Evan Chu steeled himself, moved his hands, and directly unlocked yet another power seal!

"Fourth-level power! Good!"

Mason Mansfield was incredibly excited, working quickly to link his Star Core with the Starry Void Sigil. All the Stellar Power had already been transferred into Evan Chu’s body. With Evan channeling that force, he fully unleashed forty percent of the Sigil’s power. Now, all that was left was to open the Star Core.

However, starting was easy—the next step was nowhere near as smooth as Mason Mansfield had hoped.

The six ridges of the Star Core began to blur into nothingness—a sign the sealing barrier was about to be torn apart. With such power, ripping open the seal should have been easy; the real challenge was building the corresponding spatial nodes and world pillars.

But before anything could begin—before the six ridges had even fully vanished—suddenly…

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A thunderous explosion erupted. The Star Core’s center unleashed a violent backlash. Three Holy Emperors standing too close were blasted away, and Mason Mansfield, who was controlling the Star Core, was severely injured—he spat out a mouthful of blood.

The other Holy Emperors were all affected—only three managed to stay steady and maintain their Stellar Power. Yet Evan Chu, seated atop the Stellar Stone Platform, remained unmoved, though inside he was utterly shocked.

That explosion hadn’t touched him at all. In fact, his spiritual sense slipped into a crack in the Star Core at just that moment.

But what he saw next made him gasp—A spirit body! A Star Core that’s generated a spirit body—this is a Star Core Spirit!
