Mjolnir Exosuit

The group quickly marched for over half an hour, finally reaching the outer perimeter of Wolf Valley. They found a vantage point on a high ridge, from where most of the valley's action was visible. Big Huzi, Ark, and several Afuhan tribesmen gathered together, swiftly locating hiding spots and spreading out to conceal themselves. Han Feng and other "Dragon God" special ops members also dispersed, finding cover according to battle formation. Shawn Young and Fiona Tang huddled together under a massive boulder, using a military binocular to peer into the valley.

Inside the valley, the sounds of killing shook the sky—explosions, roars of various light and heavy weapons, and gunfire streaked through the air, illuminating it with bursts of fiery sparks. Thick smoke drifted across the sky above the valley, and within the haze, two gigantic metallic figures flashed by with silver light, rampaging through the valley and making strange, mechanical noises.

Wherever those two metallic giants passed, a hail of gunfire erupted, with RPG rockets trailing long tongues of flame toward them. Yet, the metal beasts seemed unfazed, swiftly sweeping through the valley, their bodies spitting out fierce streams of firepower. The sound was like a raging dragon’s windstorm, and wherever they charged, screams of agony followed.

Shawn Young and Fiona Tang shared a military binocular, both intensely focused on the battle inside the valley. They watched as two fast-moving, humanoid metal monsters tore left and right. Even if rocks or pits blocked their way, unless the obstacles were massive or deep, the metal monsters could leap or skirt around with ease. Any Islamic Holy War fighters hiding among rocks or ordinary cover—if they poked their heads out, the metal monsters would charge straight at them, smashing those unlucky fighters into bloody pulp with sheer force. The scene was absolutely gruesome! And the weapons on those metal monsters were so terrifying, their firepower tore through the valley’s sturdy rocks like a wild wind shredding sheets of paper. It was jaw-dropping!

Meanwhile, the Islamic Holy War fighters mostly wielded regular AK-47s, RPG launchers, small-caliber mortars, and grenades. When their bullets hit the metal monsters, sparks flew—but the machines remained unscathed. Even the strongest RPG rockets might make them pause briefly, kicking up black smoke on their armor, but the silver-gray outer shell stayed perfectly intact.

Shawn Young stared, mouth agape, and muttered, “Damn! These two things are practically straight out of a sci-fi movie like ‘Avatar’! I never thought their firepower would be even scarier than what you see on the big screen!”

Fiona Tang leaned in too, her eyes glued to the military binoculars, tracking the two metal giants. After a while, she shivered and exclaimed, “Whoa! No way—that’s the US Army’s next-gen single-soldier exoskeleton combat system, the ‘Mjolnir Exosuit’! Raytheon just announced it, and now it’s already in action! They say it’s five years ahead of the world in exosuit tech, designed for special operations. Can’t believe we’re seeing it live!”

Lei Juan piped up, “Uh, what exactly is an exoskeleton combat system?”

Fiona Tang explained, “An exoskeleton combat system—originally, that means the outer shell of insects or crustaceans, providing support and protection. But for humans, it’s a battle robot operated by a soldier, with super tough armor. Regular weapons—or even armor-piercing rounds—can’t get through the shell. Raytheon uses composite titanium alloy mixed with metal ceramics for protection. Even a rocket hit won’t do any real damage! Plus, judging by what we’re seeing, the Mjolnir Exosuit’s firepower system is way stronger than a ground attack helicopter like an Apache!”

Shawn Young was stunned, eyes wide as he watched the two metal monsters rampaging through the valley. He said, "That Mjolnir Exosuit is seriously ferocious! Those Islamic Holy War fighters are in deep trouble!"

Fiona Tang nodded, "Yeah, totally. Their situation is extremely grim. Even though they've got the numbers, with those weapons, there's no way they can handle two terrifying Mjolnir Exosuits. I bet it won’t be long before the battle turns into a one-sided massacre by the US Army! If those Islamic fighters weren’t so familiar with the valley’s terrain, they’d probably be wiped out by now!"

Shawn Young stared at the two Mjolnir Exosuits rampaging through the valley—their fierce, silver-gray armored shells, cold steel frames, and towering five-meter-tall bodies. The weapon systems mounted on them were even scarier: heavy autocannons and powerful guided micro-bombs, plus two huge ammo pods strapped to their backs. Even someone clueless about weapons like Shawn could tell that once those pods fired up, the destructive power would be off the charts.

Fiona Tang couldn’t stop shaking her head, sighing, "These two Mjolnir Exosuits are insane! Their main firepower is a seven-barrel 30mm autocannon, plus a bunch of guided micro-bombs. With their insane mobility and dense firepower, they could take out a regular attack helicopter or tank in no time! Right now, only the Americans have managed to build and deploy something like this. Our own defense scientists are working hard, but we’re still way behind the US in key technologies—even behind Japan and other developed countries. Sigh, if we could bring one back for our weapons experts to study, that’d be amazing! Our own mech research is still pretty weak."

That got Shawn Young thinking. He asked Fiona Tang, "Hey, Fiona, if we somehow brought one of these exoskeleton mechs back home, would we get a huge commendation?"

Fiona Tang nodded without hesitation, "Of course! That’d be an even bigger achievement than catching ‘Black Eye’! The tech in these exoskeleton systems is at least as advanced as stealth fighters—maybe more so! But honestly, we can only drool over them; getting our hands on one is pure fantasy. With our current weapons and even your Daoist powers, we’d be wiped out before we could lay a finger on them!"

Shawn Young squinted through the binoculars a bit longer, then suddenly said, "Well, every war machine has a weakness. If we can find it, we’ll know how to take it down."

Fiona Tang frowned, "Ugh, figuring out their weakness would probably cost a ton of lives! Plus, we’ve got our own mission—don’t risk it by messing with those things!"

Shawn Young stayed silent, still watching the battle unfold in the valley. After a while, he pointed toward the Wolf Valley battlefield and handed the binoculars over. "Hey, Fiona, look again—something’s changing."

Fiona Tang took the military binoculars and looked carefully. She saw that one of the Mjolnir Exosuits had suddenly slowed down, then rolled back to an open area at the rear of the valley and stopped. The other Mjolnir Exosuit kept rampaging, and none of the Islamic fighters could do a thing to it. It was like a terrifying war machine single-handedly crushing dozens of fighters—no one could even fight back!

But with only one Mjolnir Exosuit in play, the Islamic fighters—who’d been beaten like rats—started poking their weapons out from tunnels or hidden caves and fired back. In an instant, gunfire and thick smoke filled the valley, weaving a dense web of bullets and explosions!

Shawn Young and Fiona Tang both turned their binoculars toward the Mjolnir Exosuit parked in the open area at the rear of Wolf Valley. Suddenly, a hatch on its back popped open, and out jumped a man dressed like an astronaut—clearly the mechanic operating the Mjolnir Exosuit.
