Planning a Heist

12/2/2025

Less than two minutes later, the strange Humvee that had been tailing them sped up and caught up. The mercenaries inside jumped out and spread out in a defensive formation around the area. Soon after, the V-22 Osprey that had been circling over Wolf Valley swooped down, lowering several metal ammo crates to the ground. Two technical engineers—each wearing glasses, bulletproof vests, and steel helmets—slid down metal cables from the aircraft and landed swiftly.

As soon as one of the engineers landed, he quickly unbundled the strange metal wires around the Humvee and expertly connected them to the port on the back of the idle Mjolnir Exosuit. The other engineer activated a complex set of equipment on the Humvee, the computer screen flashing with data. Meanwhile, the mechanic operating the Mjolnir Exosuit directed the mercenaries to rapidly reload it with the various types of ammo dropped from above.

After five or six minutes of frantic work around the Mjolnir Exosuit, the mechanic climbed back into the cockpit. The hatch closed, and the exosuit powered up again, pausing for a moment before charging back onto the battlefield in Wolf Valley, resuming its killing spree!

The mercenaries cheered, grabbing powerful asphyxiation grenades and starting to 'clean up' suspicious targets around the valley! Explosions thundered and thick smoke billowed, shaking all of Wolf Valley!

After circling for a while, the V-22 Osprey landed in a clearing outside the valley and shut down its engines. Soon, the pilot and several U.S. Special Forces soldiers in camo and body armor disembarked. To everyone's surprise, they were holding cheese and sausages, found some rocks to sit on, and started snacking like it was a picnic!

"Damn! Those guys don't look like they're here for war—they look like they're on vacation! Unbelievable!" Shawn Young watched through his binoculars as the group enjoyed their 'working lunch' outside the valley, laughing and chatting like tourists.

"Well—no wonder they're so cocky. I mean, who in Wolf Valley could survive the insane firepower of the Mjolnir Exosuit? With cutting-edge tech backing them up, these Americans are bound to act arrogant!" Fiona Tang said, her voice tinged with envy and amazement.

At that moment, Colonel Hank Han crawled over, moving quickly, and said with a grin, "Heh, damn! Those two battle mechs are freakishly strong—over two thousand people in this valley are getting pounded by them, and nobody can fight back! Makes me itch just watching. If we could get our hands on one, that'd be a blast. Even if we can't, blowing them up would feel pretty damn good!"

Fiona Tang shot him a look and reminded, "Colonel Han, don't forget we've got a mission here—don't do anything reckless. We're just flesh and blood; we can't take on those Mjolnir Exosuits!"

Colonel Hank Han was itching for action, but he knew better. He nodded quickly, "Yeah, of course, I get it. I won't do anything stupid."

But Shawn Young suddenly said, "Hey, what if those two Mjolnir Exosuits lost their backup support—or even power? Wouldn’t they just be two big, scary hunks of metal?"

Colonel Hank Han paused, thought about it, then nodded. "Makes sense. Those big guys can jump around and unleash all that firepower, but their engines must burn through a ton of energy. Unless they run on some kind of mini nuclear reactor—which, let’s be real, nobody’s made yet—they definitely need to refuel regularly! Judging by what we’ve seen, they’re not using nuclear tech. That stuff’s way too sci-fi, and nobody’s cracked it yet—not even the Americans. And even if they did, they wouldn’t waste it here!"

"Oh! That’s how it is! Then we might have a shot!" Shawn Young muttered, head down, thinking fast.

Fiona Tang saw Shawn Young deep in thought and quickly asked, "Uh—are you really thinking about making a move on them?!"

Shawn Young suddenly looked up and replied, "Exactly! We’ve actually got a shot! If we use my plan, we might just pull it off—grab ourselves a Mjolnir Exosuit!"

"Whoa, really?! Comrade Shawn Young, spill the plan! If you’re going for it, I’ll risk my neck and help you out! Hell, if we actually bring one back, our glory will be sky-high! This Afghanistan mission would be totally worth it!" Colonel Hank Han’s eyes lit up.

Fiona Tang was usually cautious, but this time she didn’t object. She just asked, "Brother Shawn Young, tell us your plan so we can see if it’ll work! If it’s doable, we’ll move!"

"From what I’ve observed, that Humvee trailing the Mjolnir Exosuit is the key target. The equipment on it supplies power to those two exosuits! They depend on an energy resupply process, and that’s their weak spot! Plus, the aircraft outside the valley is their backup. If we split up and handle both support targets, we’ll have a real shot at turning those Mjolnir Exosuits into powerless scrap!" Shawn Young laid out his plan.

Colonel Hank Han thought for a moment and said, "If we follow your plan and work together, taking out those two support targets shouldn’t be too hard. But if those metal monsters double back on us, we’re toast! No one’s escaping their rampage!"

Shawn Young nodded, "Yeah, I know that’s the key. So I’ll handle distracting those two Mjolnir Exosuits—draw their attention and fire, so they won’t get a chance to refuel or reload!"

Fiona Tang quickly asked, worried and confused, "Uh—how are you gonna keep those Mjolnir Exosuits focused on you? Don’t risk your life fighting those metal monsters!"

"Heh—don’t worry, I’ve got a solid plan. As long as everything goes smoothly, I’d say we’ve got at least a seventy percent chance of pulling this off! Listen up, here’s what I’ve got in mind." Shawn Young said, then laid out his idea.

After hearing him out, Colonel Hank Han and Fiona Tang exchanged glances, both agreeing with Shawn Young’s plan. They nodded together, and Colonel Han said fiercely, "Alright! Comrade Shawn Young, let’s do this—let’s hit them hard!"
