The Last Silver-Armored Man

2/27/2026

In the days that followed, Evan Yang stayed by Gavin White's side, occasionally gazing at her face and letting his mind wander. He often found himself wondering what their child would look like when it was born.

Luckily, Gavin had no idea what Evan was thinking, as she remained focused on absorbing the Sky-Nine Divine Fruits.

As for the three gold-armored commanders, unless something major happened, they continued meditating with their eyes closed, believing that with Silver Five, Silver Six, and Silver Eight working together, dealing with one Heavenly Dao expert and one Immortal Sovereign would be more than enough. They didn’t pay it any mind at all.

Meanwhile, Silver Nine and Silver Ten lingered outside the vortex for several days. When they saw the others hadn’t come out, they simply stopped worrying and went back to their own business.

Soon, several months passed. Gavin White had absorbed many Sky-Nine Divine Fruits, but the gains slowed down toward the end. She finally stopped and smiled at Evan, saying, “I’m already saturated—better to leave it at that.”

“Originally, there were over a hundred Sky-Nine Divine Fruits here, but now only a dozen or so remain. It’s a shame to let them go to waste,” Evan said, glancing up at the sky with curiosity after hearing Gavin’s words.

Gavin couldn’t help but laugh and cry at once. She imagined the owner of this place—if they knew over a hundred Sky-Nine Divine Fruits had vanished like this, they’d surely be furious.

“I think it’s time we left,” Gavin said.

Evan nodded. “Before we go, let’s refine these into pills. Maybe they won’t be as effective as freshly picked fruits, but at least we can keep them for later.”

“That’s actually a pretty good idea.” Gavin smiled at Evan when she heard this.

Evan picked the remaining fruits one by one, ripened them all, and began refining pills. A few days later, he had finished several hundred pills made from Sky-Nine Divine Fruits. Evan grinned and said, “All done.”

“What about those three?” Gavin asked, glancing at the unconscious Silver Eight and his companions.

“Let’s just leave them here. Even if someone comes looking, they’re completely immobilized now and won’t cause us any trouble,” Evan replied.

Gavin tested it herself, and sure enough, no matter what she tried, they couldn’t move at all. She laughed, “You really do have some tricks up your sleeve.”

“Of course! My child will definitely be even more capable than I am,” Evan said smugly. Gavin paused, unsure if Evan meant it or was just joking.

Seeing Gavin’s expression, Evan thought, Oh no, and quickly laughed, “Just kidding. Let’s go.”

So Evan took the lead, with Gavin following behind. When they appeared, they found the area empty.

“No one’s here—perfect, let’s go,” Evan said with a smile.

Gavin nodded, and the two of them started searching for a way out. But after wandering around for a while, they couldn’t find any opening—only the entrance they’d used before, which was now sealed shut.

“Since we could get in from here, we should be able to get out the same way. Try attacking this spot,” Evan suggested, planning to force it open by strength.

Gavin naturally listened to Evan. She gathered her power, aimed at the entrance, and smashed it with a punch.

In an instant, the entrance flickered a few times, then with a loud crash, an exit appeared. Seeing the opening, Evan grinned, “Knew it would work. Come on, let’s get out of here.”

Evan and Gavin rushed out through the exit, only to run right into patrol guardians Silver Nine and Silver Ten.

“It’s them!” Silver Nine exclaimed in shock when he saw Evan and Gavin. Silver Ten, seeing it was really them, shouted, “Damn it, stop them!”

Completely unaware that Evan and Gavin were now on a different level, the two silvers charged forward without hesitation. Seeing them approach, Gavin asked, “What do we do now?”

“They’re definitely no match for us now. Since they’re important figures, they should have Pass Tokens. To avoid trouble, let’s take their tokens,” Evan suggested after thinking it over.

Gavin nodded, so the two stopped. Silver Nine and Silver Ten arrived, and Silver Nine shouted, “You dare walk out here so brazenly!”

“Why not? Aren’t we allowed to?” Evan replied with a smile.

“Damn it, I haven’t even settled the score from last time! I won’t go easy on you today—you’re dead!” Silver Ten fumed, remembering how Evan had tricked him before.

Silver Nine tried to tangle with Gavin like last time, but Gavin flashed behind him and shattered several bones in his back before he could react.

Silver Nine’s scream startled Silver Ten, who was about to grab Evan. Gavin flashed in front of Silver Ten and smiled, “Your turn.”

Soon, both silvers were seriously injured and lay before Evan and Gavin. Neither could believe how terrifying Gavin’s strength had become in just a few months.

“You realize your mistake now, don’t you? Hand over your Pass Tokens and we’ll let you off,” Evan said with a smile.

“Pass Tokens—here.” Silver Nine and Silver Ten each handed one over to Evan and Gavin. After checking them, Evan said, “Just stay here.” He sealed the two silvers and left with Gavin.

Silver Nine and Silver Ten couldn’t speak as they looked around. Occasionally, someone would pass by, greet them respectfully, and then stare in confusion at the two silvers standing there, unsure what to do.

One person who was familiar with Silver Nine and Silver Ten approached and asked, “Silver Nine, Silver Ten, what are you doing?”

Silver Nine and Silver Ten looked at him, wanting to speak but unable to, so they just stared.

The man frowned, feeling something was off. He tried asking a few more times, but got nowhere. Worried, he tried to contact Silver Four, Silver Five, Silver Six, and Silver Eight, but couldn’t reach them. He finally got through to Silver Seven.

Silver Seven, who was on duty guarding security, received the message and hurried over. He looked curiously at Silver Nine and Silver Ten, tried asking questions, but found they couldn’t move or respond.

Feeling uneasy, Silver Seven asked the man who found them, “How did you discover them?”

"I noticed a lot of people passing by and greeting them, but they didn’t respond. So I tried myself, but got nothing. I wanted to see if any other Silver-ranked officers were around, but Silver Four, Silver Five, and Silver Six were all out of contact," the man explained.

Silver Seven frowned and tried to contact Silver Four, Silver Five, and Silver Six. Confirming they were unreachable, he remembered Silver Eight had been sent away on vortex business. He told the man, “Watch these two here—I’m going to check.”

After instructing him, Silver Seven tried to contact Silver Eight but couldn’t reach him either. He realized that from Silver Four to Silver Ten, only he was left—everyone else was out of contact. That was a bad sign, and he wanted to figure out what had happened.

When he arrived outside the vortex, he muttered, “The gold-armored commanders don’t let anyone near here, but to find them, I’ll have to go in.”

Silver Seven entered, hoping to just take a look, but was startled to find the three gold-armored commanders inside. He knelt in shock, “I’m sorry!”

Gold Three opened his eyes and said, “Why are you breaking the rules and barging in?”

Silver Seven replied, “Silver Four through Silver Eight are out of contact, and something’s wrong with Silver Nine and Silver Ten. I had to try to find the cause, but I didn’t expect to end up here.”

“Something’s happened to Silver Nine and Silver Ten? What is it?” Gold Three asked, surprised. He only knew about Silver Four’s accident and that Silver Five, Six, and Eight were in that space, so he was curious.

Silver Seven explained, and Gold Three calculated the timing, frowning, “They’ve been inside for months—why haven’t they come out yet?”

“Gold Three, what’s really going on?” Silver Seven asked, curious as he saw Gold Three muttering.

“Take this token and go back into the vortex. Find Silver Five, Silver Six, and Silver Eight, and figure out what happened,” Gold Three ordered.

Silver Seven felt things were more complicated than he’d thought. He took the token, left, and re-entered the vortex, which led to another space. There, he quickly found Silver Five, Silver Six, and Silver Eight—all badly injured.

Silver Seven tried everything to wake them, but nothing worked. Worried, he brought all three back, planning to let Gold Three decide.

A short while later, Silver Seven returned to the gold-armored commanders with the three injured silvers.

Gold Three asked, “What happened to them?”

“Just like Silver Nine and Silver Ten—they can’t move at all,” Silver Seven explained. Gold Three released his aura and checked them. He frowned, “Someone used a powerful sealing technique to immobilize them all. Who could have such strong forbidden arts?”

“What’s going on?” Silver Seven asked, curious.

“Wait outside for now. We’ll study this before saying anything,” Gold Three said, frowning as he felt things were getting out of hand. He told Silver Seven to wait outside, then called over the other two gold-armored commanders.

The other two were Gold One and Gold Two. They looked curiously at Gold Three, who explained the situation. After examining the injured silvers, Gold One asked, “So you’re saying they chased someone inside and ended up like this?”

“Yes,” Gold Three replied.

“It’s a powerful forbidden art, but if the three of us combine our strength, we can break it. Let’s do it together—just follow my instructions,” Gold One said after thinking for a moment.

If Evan had been there, he would have been shocked that anyone could break his seal. The three gold-armored commanders joined forces, and under Gold One’s guidance, broke the seals on the three silvers.

The moment the seals were broken, the three silvers woke up from their stupor. Seeing the gold-armored commanders, they were both shocked and delighted, feeling as if they had escaped Evan’s clutches.
