Invitation and Refusal

Bilinzi and Nangong Yan also turned to look at Evan Yang, waiting for him to reveal his furnace.

Evan Yang hesitated—not because he did poorly, but because he went too far: every pill in the furnace was supreme-grade. He feared the consequences if he revealed them all.

"Hey, little beggar, what's wrong? Did you ruin your batch?" someone jeered.

"Ruined?" Evan heard this and secretly chuckled. He made a few moves inside the furnace, then opened it and said, "Three waste pills."

"Three waste pills? Haha, little beggar, you’re doomed! Three waste pills? That means six supreme-grade and four high-grade pills!!" Hearing Evan say he had three waste pills, the crowd burst into laughter.

Three waste pills? Bilinzi and Nangong Yan finally relaxed and laughed, "Kid, you lost this time!"

"Haha, the little beggar lost! The Treasureforge First Furnace really is number one, still as brilliant as ever." Some started promoting Bilinzi—clearly Nangong Yan's people, waiting for a chance to boast.

Actually, those three waste pills were made when Evan deliberately let the Heaven-Cold Seed absorb their essence, so they became waste pills. To avoid losing, he kept seven supreme-grade pills. He asked, "City Lord, which wins: seven supreme-grade, or six supreme-grade and four high-grade?"

"Seven? Did I hear that right?" Evan’s words stunned everyone into silence.

"Impossible, impossible." Bilinzi screamed inwardly. The silence around him made him feel an unprecedented fear.

Nangong Yan asked with an extremely serious expression, "Are you sure you have seven?"

"Seems so, but City Lord should check." Evan Yang 'reluctantly' opened the pill furnace, nearly driving the spectators mad with suspense.

The seven supreme-grade pills lay quietly beside the three waste pills, like seven newborns. Yes, seven—they counted again and again, but it was always seven, not less, not more, and all were supreme-grade.

A dead silence fell. To make seven supreme-grade pills with an ordinary furnace was unbelievable—even the user of the Treasureforge First Furnace lost. Gradually, people began to discuss it.

Finally, someone stepped forward, "Kid, you’re amazing! Would you like to join our family? We have everything you need!"

"Move aside, move aside." Someone squeezed in loudly, then addressed Evan, "Brother, our family has countless treasures and herbs. As long as you want, you can have as many herbs as you need!"

"Who dares compete with me!" Another person pushed forward, trying to recruit him again. Only Bilinzi, still standing in disbelief, clutched the Treasureforge First Furnace, his heart full of unwillingness, as if he’d been cast into hell.

"Thank you for your kindness, but I don’t want to join any family. Thanks, everyone!" Evan didn’t want to enter any clan, so he politely refused them all.

Seeing this, Brandon Tu knew he couldn’t linger, so he cupped his hands respectfully to Nangong Yan and said, "City Lord, the pill duel is over. I’ll take my young friend and leave now."

After trying twice to defeat Evan, Nangong Yan had no choice but to smile and reply, "Come visit Centralgate City again when you have time." With so many clan heirs present, he couldn’t hide the facts or block Evan openly.
