Refining the Fire Spirit Body with the Left-Hand Dragon

2/14/2026

Bang!

The Left-Hand Dragon bit down, crushing the entire Fire Spirit Body and unleashing a torrent of wild flames.

Countless flames twisted together, completely engulfing the dragon's body in fire!

An intense, scorching heat surged up from Evan Lin's left hand. His face changed dramatically, but before he could react, the Left-Hand Dragon spat out a blast of searing dragon breath.

This dragon breath was even more condensed than before, charged with surging spiritual qi. Like a raging torrent, it instantly swept through every meridian in Evan's body.

The sudden, overwhelming pain made Evan groan and cough up blood.

In the spirit-gathering well of his dantian, the thin spiritual qi seemed to be stirred up and began to boil.

A faint red glow appeared on Evan's skin, and the extreme heat burned his clothes to ashes.

Evan clenched his teeth, enduring the pain of bursting blood vessels and swelling meridians.

After a long time.

The burning heat in his blood vessels gradually faded. Evan suddenly opened his eyes, a faint firelight flickering within them.

"So that's how it is!"

Evan felt scorching spiritual qi flowing through his body, and the sensation of his meridians expanding gave him the urge to howl at the sky.

That searing dragon breath finally gathered in the spirit-gathering well atop his spiritual platform, transforming into a faint red spiritual qi. When Evan casually clenched his fist, his bones crackled, and even a light wave of his hand seemed to stir up wind and cloud!

It felt as if, with a mere gesture, he could ignite the entire space!

At that moment, Evan's Scarlet Flame Command transformed into a tiny fire python, kneeling in submission before him. Its eyes were filled with terror and unease as it looked at Evan.

Evan glanced at his left hand. The Left-Hand Dragon had closed its eyes and returned to calm, but its body now bore even more fiery markings—clearly the imprint of the Fire Spirit Body.

"So that's it. The Left-Hand Dragon directly refined the Fire Spirit Body! My current body couldn't fuse with the Fire Spirit Body, but the dragon is different."

"Now that the Fire Spirit Body has been refined by the dragon, it's as if I've refined it myself. And whatever trick the dragon used, the power feels far greater than a normal Fire Spirit Body!"

Evan's eyes shone brightly and he grinned, but when he glanced at the mirror in the room, he was momentarily stunned.

In the mirror, his hair was now a fiery red, and sparks flickered deep in his eyes, making him look rather strange.

Evan took a deep breath, calmed the surging spiritual qi inside him, and forced his blood and qi back under control. Once everything settled, he returned to his usual black hair and black eyes.

"This dragon's abilities are way beyond what I imagined."

Evan sighed. Back on the Immortal Martial Continent, once he broke through the Heavenly Gate, he should've transcended the mortal world and become a True Immortal.

But being ambushed by the ancient dragon inside the Heavenly Gate led to his death and rebirth, sending him back to his youth. Being able to see Joy Zheng again and make up for past regrets was truly a blessing in disguise.

Besides, this dragon clearly has many abilities I haven't yet discovered. With its help, when I climb the Heavenly Gate again, I'll probably be even stronger than before.

Evan got out of bed.

Just then, the closed door was suddenly pushed open from the outside.

"Are you okay?"

Stella Huang, wearing black-rimmed glasses and holding a stack of drafts, looked worried.

She had just come home from work, and as soon as she entered, she heard strange noises coming from Evan's room.

At first Stella didn't think much of it, but as she got closer, she heard Evan groaning, which startled her.

She hesitated about whether to open the door, but in the end couldn't help herself. Worried something had happened to Evan, she pushed the door open in a rush and peered inside.

Evan was a little stunned; he'd been so focused on the pain and the Left-Hand Dragon that he hadn't noticed anything outside the room.

At that moment, thanks to the Left-Hand Dragon, Evan's clothes had been completely burned away—and Stella had suddenly burst in...

"Ah!"

Stella froze for three seconds, her face flushing bright red. Suddenly realizing what she'd seen, she shrieked, slammed the door, and fled back to her own room, her heart racing and cheeks burning as she replayed the scene in her mind.

"This is such a headache."

Evan shook his head and took a fresh set of clothes from the wardrobe to change into.

When he finally opened his door to go out, Stella was still hiding in her room. Evan thought for a moment, then knocked on her door.

"Do you need something?" Stella's timid voice came from inside the room.

"Want to go eat? I'm a bit hungry." Evan tried to sound as calm as possible to avoid embarrassing Stella.

After all, Stella was only worried about his safety, so Evan couldn't hold any grudge against her.

Stella was silent for a long time before finally mustering the courage to open the door, putting on a serious face. "Then I want hot pot!"

Seeing that Evan didn't mention what happened earlier, Stella finally relaxed.

After dinner, Stella had to rush her drafts at home, while Evan went back to his room to cultivate, running the Grand Dao Foundation Art several times and guiding the faint red spiritual qi through his body. After one cycle, he felt completely refreshed, the exhaustion from three days of treating Molly Su's Fire Spirit Body swept away.

The next day, Evan finally went back to school.

In the classroom, both students and teachers were already used to Evan disappearing for days at a time.

During class, Byron Yang saw Evan suddenly show up at his desk and could only sigh inwardly.

He had talked to Evan about this many times, hoping he'd take his studies seriously and focus on the last few months before the college entrance exam, pouring all his energy into preparing for it.

But Evan just treated his words like wind in his ears, leaving Byron completely disappointed. He couldn't hit him, and honestly didn't dare to even give Evan a scolding. Since Evan didn't disturb anyone in class, Byron just let him be.

Over the next few days, Evan found that the Grand Dao Foundation Art produced spiritual qi that was slightly denser than before, tinged with a faint red glow. The quality was purer, and his cultivation speed was a bit faster, which made Evan quite satisfied.

Occasionally, when he ran into Lynn Chen at school, Eric Yu was always stuck to her like glue. Every time Eric saw Evan, his face was full of anger he didn't dare express.

Evan completely ignored them.

A few days later, Evan received a call—not from Sam Su, but from Eldest Brother Su.
