Reunion with Sean Kerr

1/4/2026

Cici heard the voice and whipped around.

She saw a man who looked familiar yet strange, standing behind her with a frown.

This man was a bit shorter and slimmer than Charles Yin, with delicate features—he could be considered quite handsome.

But the way he looked at her was filled with helplessness and urgency.

"You are..." Cici couldn't help but ask, "Do we know each other?"

The man was stunned for a moment, then looked at Cici as if suddenly enlightened. "So you still don't remember..."

Cici's heart skipped a beat. Did this person really know her?

Why did there always seem to be people who knew her, but she didn't know them? Why did they keep appearing in front of her?

What exactly had she lost?

"I'm Sean Kerr." The man gave a helpless, bitter smile. "Didn't Rona come to London with you?"

He knows Rona Muir?

Cici's eyes widened, then she realized, "Ah, you're the man Rona's been avoiding?"

Sean Kerr gave a bitter smile. "So that's how she introduced me to you."

Cici shook her head, saying, "She didn't come to England. I don't think she's in France either."

Sean Kerr nodded, looking at Cici with a rather complicated expression.

Back then, so many things happened. He was deeply moved by the resilience Cici brought, and gradually accepted her presence.

No one expected that just when everyone thought there were no more obstacles, something like that would happen.

Back then, when Cecilia Gu was betrayed by Helen Jiang and chose to save her child at the brink of life and death, Sean Kerr was truly impressed by her.

A mother's strength truly knows no bounds.

No wonder Rona Muir saw her differently. To find a chief assistant for Cecilia Gu's child, she even made a special trip to Myanmar.

No wonder the Jiang Family owed the Yin Family a debt they could never repay because of what happened to Cecilia Gu.

Eric Jiang blamed himself so much that he nearly exiled himself.

To make amends to Cecilia Gu, Eric Jiang even sought out the Mo Family and knelt outside the Mo Family patriarch's door for three days and nights.

The Mo Family patriarch was so troubled by his persistence that he finally told the Jiang Family that Cecilia Gu was still alive, but all her memories were sealed and she had been sent overseas.

After receiving the news from the Mo Family patriarch, Eric Jiang devoted all his energy to searching for Cecilia Gu.

With the Jiang Family's power and influence, Eric Jiang found Helen Jiang's whereabouts overseas before Charles Yin could act, and immediately told Charles everything about the person who harmed Cecilia Gu.

Charles Yin only said one thing at the time: Some grudges must be avenged personally. He didn’t mind waiting a bit longer to give her the chance for revenge herself.

Because of what Charles Yin said, Helen Jiang wasn’t brought back to China.

Still, the Jiang Family hated Helen Jiang to the core.

The Yin Family hated Helen Jiang even more.

If Charles Yin hadn’t spoken up, Helen Jiang would’ve been wiped out completely.

Oh, and there’s that mastermind behind the scenes too.

She thought she was hiding well, but in the face of such a powerful network, all that so-called hiding and disguise was just a joke.

Charles Yin was a patient wolf king—he liked the thrill of hunting himself.

So, whatever they owed Cici, she would get it back with her own hands!

If Cici didn’t know, what was the point of tormenting those masterminds into nothing?

It wouldn’t help Cici vent her anger!

So, those pests were kept alive for now—to let them taste despair, and then be crushed bit by bit!

If you’re going to play, you might as well play on home turf.

So, life abroad for these people was pure misery.

No matter where they went, they faced setbacks and exclusion. Soon, they couldn’t make it abroad and had to obediently return home to look for another chance.

Now that the little pests have returned to China, Cici, shouldn’t you go back too?

At that moment, Sean Kerr looked at Cici with a complicated expression. His eyes flickered as he said, "If you don’t mind, could I treat you to a meal? I have a lot of questions—about Rona Muir—that I’d like to ask you."

Cici thought for a moment and nodded.

No matter if this man knew her before, Rona Muir was her friend now.

At this point, Cici hadn’t realized that Rona Muir had deceived her too.

She thought Rona Muir was simply a friend she’d met after coming to France.

Sean Kerr took Cici to a nearby restaurant.

He casually ordered two lunches, then asked, "Has Rona Muir been with you these past two years?"

"Technically, yes," Cici said with a slight smile. "But I’m really busy, so we don’t see each other much. I’m always traveling for work across Europe, and she’s busy with classes in different countries."

Sean Kerr forced a smile. "Yeah, she’s always so full of energy. Has she... been with any other men these past two years?"

Cici suddenly laughed. "Are you doubting yourself, or her resolve? Well, Rona's got great qualities, so it’s true she has plenty of admirers. Her looks are really popular in Europe—especially in France, where she’s exactly their type. Plus, she’s got a great personality. How could no one chase after her? We never have to buy flowers at home, because her admirers send enough to keep our balcony filled with something new every week."

Hearing Cici’s answer, Sean Kerr’s expression really did change several times.

"You’re probably the one Rona’s been avoiding all this time, right? If she’s treating you like the plague, you must be the only one. When I said I was coming to England, she just drove off—she didn’t come with me at all. So you won’t find her in England! I don’t know what happened between you two, but let me give you some advice: that’s not how you chase a girl. Rona isn’t like other girls; those tricks won’t work on her. You’d better figure out what she really needs before you decide how to pursue her."

Sean Kerr struggled for a long time before finally saying in a low voice, "Alright, I admit you’re right. Just like three years ago, on that ship, when you told me those things. I admit you were right then too."

Cici’s hand froze midair, fork and knife suspended. "Three years ago? On a ship? So we really did know each other before?"

"Of course," Sean Kerr replied casually. "Rona’s been avoiding me ever since three years ago, when I hurt you for another woman..."

"Wait a minute." Cici put down her fork and knife, looking seriously at Sean Kerr. "Are you saying Rona and I knew each other a long time ago too?"

Sean Kerr was stunned, then stopped what he was doing and asked Cici, "Don’t tell me you don’t remember her either?"

Cici’s expression hardened; for a moment, she didn’t know what to say.

She’d met Rona Muir two years ago in a café. Rona had forgotten her money, her phone—anything she could use to pay.

Seeing how awkward she was, Cici just paid for her coffee without thinking.

Then Rona insisted on thanking her—inviting her to lunch, to outings, stubbornly sticking around until they became close, and eventually dragging Cici to buy a little apartment together.

No wonder Rona always treated her differently—turns out they really were old friends.

From what Sean Kerr said, three years ago, Rona Muir was already on her side.

She even argued with the men pursuing her because of Cici...

Thinking about it, a wave of warmth suddenly washed over Cici’s heart.

No matter if she was the same person she’d been three years ago, Rona had never given up on her.

Rona Muir. Rona Muir.

You’ve treated me so well—how could I ever repay your friendship?

You spent two years putting on a clumsy act just to find me—do you even realize how bad you are at pretending?

She always blurted out my name—Gu Xixi... Gu Xixi... Was that my old name?

Right, a while ago, a bank in China suddenly called me, saying there were billions in my account back home—and the account holder’s name was also Gu Xixi...

What on earth happened to me three years ago?

Why do I have two names?

Why do I have an account with so much money?

How did the bank even find me?

Why can’t I remember anything?

Sean Kerr noticed Cici’s troubled expression and quickly asked, "Did I say something wrong?"

Cici shook her head but didn’t say anything.

"Cici, we might not be friends, but there’s something I want to say." Sean Kerr’s long fingers tapped lightly on his water glass. "Don’t you want to figure out what memories you’ve lost? I know a bit about what happened, but I think it’d mean more if you discovered the truth yourself, wouldn’t it?"

Cici nodded silently.

Cici looked at Sean Kerr, hesitating to speak.

"If you have any questions, just ask. For Rona’s sake, I’ll tell you whatever I can." Sean Kerr saw Cici’s conflicted expression and smiled. "Of course, if there’s something I can’t say, I absolutely won’t."

Cici hesitated, then asked, "Was Yin Sicheng really my husband?"

Sean Kerr nodded. "Yes."

Hearing this, Cici felt a complicated mix of emotions.

So the man she’d fallen for was actually her ex-husband...

Why did she leave him so resolutely?

Was it because of feelings? Or was there another reason?

"Then... is Ethan Yin really my son?" Cici’s heart tightened as she spoke.

"Yes." Sean Kerr nodded again.

Her heart finally settled back into place.

Suddenly, her maternal instincts exploded—unstoppable and overwhelming!

"And what about Miles Gu...?" Cici looked at Sean Kerr with hope.

"Rona rescued him from traffickers. You adopted him, gave him your surname and inheritance." Sean Kerr continued, "In essence, he’s no different from Ethan Yin."

Boom—the last barrier in her heart completely collapsed.

So, they really are my sons!

Sons—I have sons!
