Complex Cave

"They really said that?" The sect master frowned.

"Mm."

"How did our sect end up in this mess!" The sect master said helplessly.

"Right now, the only way to calm their anger is to capture that beggar and hand him over. Otherwise, if the Huang Clan really moves against our sect, Master, you know what the consequences will be." Lynn Snowmoon's Martial Aunt said.

"Mm, of course I know. Go tell them that a month from now, we'll give them a surprise." The sect master reluctantly said.

Lynn Snowmoon's Martial Aunt nodded, glanced at the Third Layer Peak, then left. The sect master remained, gazing at the Third Layer Peak, curious about this beggar who could make both the Blue Clan and Huang Clan hate him so much.

Lynn Snowmoon's Martial Aunt arrived at a mountain peak with many buildings, all quite luxurious. She entered one of the houses.

Inside, two people were seated—one was the man whose wedding was interrupted by Evan Yang, the other was an elder from the Huang Clan.

"Senior Xiang, any updates?" Huang Jun stood up, frustrated. He'd waited here for months, and after Lynn Snowmoon entered the forbidden area of Jinxiu Peak, he was helpless. He'd tried searching several times but found nothing.

"The sect master said you'll definitely get a surprise in a month." Xiang Chunzi replied with a smile.

"Thank you, Senior Xiang." Huang Jun said with a smile.

"No need to be so polite. This was our fault to begin with, and in a month, you'll definitely be delighted." Xiang Chunzi said confidently.

"Oh? What kind of surprise?" Huang Jun thought Lynn Snowmoon would be handed over, but hearing Xiang Chunzi repeat this, it seemed like something else was going on.

"You'll find out soon enough." Xiang Chunzi just smiled, offering no further explanation.

As for Evan Yang, after entering, he began searching the mountain. The peak was huge and long, with many natural caves, all deep and winding. Each trip in and out took him half a day.

"Where is she, anyway!" Evan Yang said anxiously, noticing that many caves were dangerous. Not every cave was safe, and with no news from Lynn Snowmoon via Transmission Stone, it seemed something had happened to her.

After finishing his search of a new cave and finding nothing, Evan Yang came out helplessly, just in time to see someone from Jinxiu Peak looking for him.

When the two met, the woman asked, "Are you that beggar?"

"That's me." Evan Yang wasn't in a good mood and was ready to teach this newcomer a lesson.

The woman thought she'd gotten lucky, meeting him so quickly. But after just a few moves, Evan Yang tossed her aside. She watched in terror as he walked away, unable to move a muscle.

Evan Yang continued searching for Lynn Snowmoon.

Along the way, he ran into several people from Jinxiu Peak. Each time, Evan Yang taught them a lesson and tossed them aside. If anyone outside could see with divine sense, they'd be shocked.

"Ten days now, and still no news of her!" Evan Yang muttered helplessly.

Divine sense couldn't be used here, so he had to search each place himself to find out if she was there.

He arrived at the entrance of another cave. "Let's go in and take a look."

He walked in, and once inside, Evan Yang didn't come out for a long time.

This cave was very deep, with many branches. The main problem was that divine sense couldn't be used. Evan Yang had to rely on his instincts, memorizing each path and retracing his steps, like a mortal wandering blindly. The cave was so low he had to be extra careful when flying, often squeezing past rocks that blocked his way.

Days passed like this.

"Whew, I've already gone through the hundredth fork in this cave." Evan Yang muttered helplessly.

These days, he kept circling back; sometimes he'd hit a dead end and have to try another path.

Just when Evan Yang thought this cave would be a dead end, he noticed some clues.

Inside one cave lay a woman Evan Yang recognized well. She was resting with her eyes closed, but had several wounds and her aura was chaotic.

As soon as Evan Yang arrived, the woman opened her eyes. Seeing him, she exclaimed in shock, "It's you!"

"Yeah, where is she?" Evan Yang asked excitedly.

"She went inside." The woman replied, pointing to the tunnel behind her.

"How long ago?" Evan Yang asked.

"It's been two months now." she answered.

"That long!" Evan Yang was shocked.

"To avoid the Huang Clan and sect members, we came to this most mysterious cave. Here, we ran into some powerful creatures. My junior sister is stronger, so she went deeper. I stayed here, but I'm nearly at my limit." she explained. This was Lynn Snowmoon's senior martial sister, Faye Violet.

"Powerful creatures?" Evan Yang hadn't expected other beasts here, and judging by Faye Violet's wounds, she'd just fought recently.

"Yeah, every so often as you go deeper, some appear. You have to clear them out to keep moving forward. My junior sister was worried about my safety, so she told me to stay here and wait for her." Faye Violet said helplessly.

"Alright, I'm heading in. Take care of yourself." Evan Yang was worried about Lynn Snowmoon's safety, but seeing Faye Violet here gave him hope. He decided to keep searching.

"Mm." Faye Violet replied. Evan Yang flashed forward at incredible speed, surprising Faye Violet with his sudden burst of power.

"He's gotten even stronger," Faye Violet muttered.

Evan Yang sped ahead, noticing bodies in some places—creatures that looked like mice.

"Burrowmice," Old Clam said.

"What's a Burrowmouse?" Evan Yang asked as he hurried along.

"They're good at digging, and have some attack power. Your Flying Mouse has burrowing abilities too, but it's even stronger than Burrowmice. As for these Burrowmice, their digging skills are above average." Old Clam explained, comparing them to the Flying Mouse.

Evan Yang nodded, speeding up. The tunnel ahead grew from small to large—now four or five people could fly side by side, instead of just one.

"These just died." Evan Yang reached a spot with many corpses, the blood still fresh. He figured Lynn Snowmoon hadn't gone far.

Evan Yang kept speeding ahead, hoping to quickly find Lynn Snowmoon.

After a while, he arrived at an underground city. Evan Yang had seen many underground places, but never a city like this. The mice here had become spirits—standing upright, muttering to each other. Evan Yang scanned the area, searching for any sign of Lynn Snowmoon.

"Some of these mice seem powerful, too." Evan Yang noticed some caves radiating an aura as strong as a human Soul-Forming cultivator. If Lynn Snowmoon had come here, she'd be in trouble.

Evan Yang was anxious, hoping Lynn Snowmoon would show up soon, or at least he'd find some clue about her.

"Can you disguise me as one of them?" Evan Yang planned to blend in and see if he could learn anything about Lynn Snowmoon.

"Sure, as long as they're not Spirit-Wandering, they won't see through it," Old Clam replied confidently.

"Alright, help me out." Evan Yang asked.

"Mm." Old Clam answered. Evan Yang's appearance changed instantly—now he looked just like a mouse.

Like this, Evan Yang blended in with the other mice. When he walked out, the mice saw another mouse emerge and weren't surprised. They just went on with their business.

"Where could she be!" Evan Yang was frustrated that divine sense couldn't be used here. Otherwise, he'd have found Lynn Snowmoon already.

The underground city was huge, with its own patrol mice. Evan Yang kept searching for any clue about Lynn Snowmoon.

Just then, a patrol squad seemed to get some news and rushed off somewhere. Evan Yang followed, sensing something important was happening. Otherwise, the patrol wouldn't charge off for no reason.

Evan Yang followed them to another underground area, farther from the city and with fewer mice.

This patrol squad was at the Core-Condensing Realm—too weak to worry Evan Yang. If he wanted, he could wipe them out in a single move.

He was just curious why they'd come here.

As Evan Yang stepped inside, he saw a familiar figure—Lynn Snowmoon, sword in hand, fending off the mice's attacks.

The strongest mice were only at the Nascent Soul Realm, and Lynn Snowmoon had reached Nascent Soul Early Stage. She'd been fighting for a long time—mouse corpses were everywhere, and more patrol squads kept arriving.

As the mouse army moved in, Lynn Snowmoon fought back and pushed them away. Then a stronger mouse appeared, unleashing its power and injuring Lynn Snowmoon. Evan Yang leaped forward, and as the mouse was about to hit her, he waved his hand—space pressure sent the mouse flying.

The surrounding mice were shocked—how could a mouse like this suddenly appear?

The mice started chattering at Evan Yang, but Lynn Snowmoon, badly wounded, watched the mouse who'd saved her with suspicion.

"Don't look at me like that." Evan Yang smiled. He'd finally made it in time, preventing disaster for Lynn Snowmoon.

Human speech! Lynn Snowmoon was stunned—after months here, she was shocked to hear a voice, and from a mouse no less.

"How can you speak human language?" Lynn Snowmoon stared at Evan Yang, confused.

"Because I'm actually human." Evan Yang smiled, and with all the mice and Lynn Snowmoon watching, he returned to his true form.

Seeing this familiar face after so many years, Lynn Snowmoon was stunned for a moment, then her eyes filled with tears as she looked at Evan Yang.

"What, are you so moved you're going to cry?" Evan Yang couldn't handle the sad atmosphere and quickly joked.

"You... why are you here?" Lynn Snowmoon, realizing she'd lost her composure, forced herself to speak through the pain.
