Evan Chu saw the expression on the Violet Thunder Fox's face and felt a sense of foreboding. Was she really planning to test his true strength?
At that moment, the Violet Thunder Fox smiled and said, "I really do want to see just how strong you are. You won't refuse, will you?"
Her voice was still so enchanting, so alluring that Evan Chu felt a strange sensation in his ears. But he knew his own limits very well—facing off against a ninth-rank spirit beast? That was just asking for death.
"Macy, do you really think I'd agree to that? You should drop this idea—I don't have time to mess around with you." Evan Chu said immediately, deciding it was best to keep some distance from the Violet Thunder Fox in her human form.
"Hehe, I knew Big Brother wouldn't agree—you're just too stingy! But even if you did, I wouldn't actually go through with it, hehe!" Her tone was still the same, making the nearby students a little overwhelmed.
"Are you messing with me? Can't you stop being so mischievous? I... I..." Evan Chu stammered, unable to finish his sentence.
If it were Roxanne or Rhea, Evan Chu would have said without hesitation, "I'd punish you right here and now, so you learn the consequences of teasing a man." But the stunning beauty in front of him was actually a fox—no matter how desperate he got, he wouldn't hook up with a spirit beast.
"Lin Feng, can we go back now?" Jenny Sima walked over at this moment, clearly still frustrated with the Violet Thunder Fox—earlier, she’d been forced to endure the Sea Dragon Academy lechers’ insults because of her.
"Let’s wait until Zack Zhao and the others bring back the spoils from this round. I think we’ve got enough magic crystals now." Zack Zhao said with a smile.
"I can’t wait to go home. This damn place is pure torture—I haven’t had a decent night’s sleep or a proper meal since we got here. If I stay any longer, I honestly don’t know if I’ll make it."
Even though Quinn Wu was badly injured, Evan Chu knew he had to say those words for Jenny Sima’s sake. If it were before, he’d have killed Quinn outright—he wouldn’t have survived this long.
Sometimes, Evan Chu realized, he really was too soft-hearted and indecisive.
Soon, Zack Zhao finished distributing the magic crystals and Starstones. Naturally, those two high-grade Starstones were reserved for Evan Chu—everyone agreed on that.
“Evan, we have no idea where the teleportation gate is. This place is huge—how do we even start looking?” Zack Zhao asked.
Evan Chu smiled at Zack Zhao and said, “It’s normal that you don’t know. But I do.”
“You really know? Where is it?” someone asked, skepticism in their voice.
Zack Zhao admired Evan Chu even more. Ever since they entered through the teleportation array, he hadn’t seen any sign of the gate—yet Evan seemed to know.
There was always a question nagging him: Evan Chu had clearly entered from the ordinary class’s array, so why did he end up in the elite class? But since they weren’t close, Zack just kept the thought to himself.
“Actually, I have no idea either. Heh!” Evan Chu chuckled, but his eyes slid over to Macy Mei.
Everyone’s joy crashed to the floor—they’d just been doused with cold water. Disappointment spread across their faces.
“Why the long faces? I might not know, but someone does! She’s lived here for centuries—if Macy Mei doesn’t know, then the world’s gone mad. Right, Macy?” Evan Chu teased.
“Let’s go. The teleportation gate is only a day’s journey from here—not far at all,” Macy Mei replied.
High above, Goldwing swooped down and landed on Evan Chu’s shoulder.
“Old Goldwing, how many people can you carry while flying?” Evan Chu asked quietly.
“Boss, why are you asking that?” Goldwing responded, confused.
“Just answer honestly—how many can you carry at once?” Evan Chu pressed.
Goldwing’s true form could spread its wings nearly fifty meters wide. Evan Chu was certain he could carry everyone—he just needed Goldwing’s agreement.
Even spirit beasts had their pride—not just anyone could ride on their backs.
“I could probably carry a hundred or so. More than that gets tricky. Wait—Boss, you’re not planning to make me haul all these guys, are you?” Goldwing suddenly caught on.
“That’s right! Congratulations, you got it—just no prize for you!” Evan Chu grinned. He hadn’t expected Goldwing could actually carry over a hundred people; it was beyond his imagination.
Goldwing finally muttered, “Alright, alright… you’re the boss, after all.” He looked thoroughly aggrieved.
Once Goldwing agreed, Evan Chu turned to the crowd and announced, “Good news, everyone—we’ll reach the teleportation gate soon! Surprised?”
“Really?” Jenny Sima was the first to ask, eyes wide with hope.
Everyone shot Evan Chu doubtful looks—they clearly didn’t believe him.
“Of course it’s true! We’ll fly straight there in a bit—though it’ll be tough on Old Goldwing, haha!” Evan Chu laughed, picturing Goldwing’s put-upon expression.
As soon as Evan Chu finished, Goldwing on his shoulder burst into golden light, transforming into a massive golden bird before everyone’s eyes…
The crowd gasped in shock, staring at Goldwing’s true form. Even the students who’d seen powerful beasts before were stunned.
“Whoa—Goldwing’s real body is huge! We’re really flying out of here?” someone exclaimed.
Jenny Sima couldn’t help but smile, her earlier worries replaced by excitement.
Macy Mei grinned playfully. “See? I told you Evan would find a way.”
Zack Zhao slapped Evan Chu on the back. “Boss, you really do have a trick for everything!”
Quinn Wu looked at Goldwing, then at Evan Chu, a complicated expression on his face. He’d lost, but he couldn’t help feeling a little awed.
“Let’s get ready to board!” Evan Chu called out, rallying the group.
One by one, the students climbed onto Goldwing’s broad back, hearts pounding with excitement and nerves.
With a mighty flap of his wings, Goldwing soared into the sky, carrying everyone toward the teleportation gate—and the promise of home.
The Monster Beast Forest faded beneath them as Evan Chu’s group began their airborne journey, hearts full of hope for what lay ahead.
