None of the students had ever seen Goldwing’s true body before. Back when he killed the Skyfiend Tiger, Goldwing had taken the form of a middle-aged man. Now, with his massive beast form suddenly revealed, everyone was thoroughly shocked.
“Th-that’s the golden bird that was on your shoulder?” Zack Zhao stammered.
“That’s right. He’s an eighth-rank flying beast—you’d better not underestimate him.” Evan Chu smiled, clearly pleased by everyone’s shock.
Everyone was already terrified, but after Evan revealed Goldwing’s rank, their fear only deepened. They stared at him as if he were some kind of monster—just what kind of person was this guy?
His defense was monstrous, and his strength was terrifying. Now, the ‘little bird’ on Evan’s shoulder turned out to be an eighth-rank flying beast—most people could hardly believe their eyes.
“Let’s go. Everybody get on—we’ll reach the teleportation gate soon.” Evan called out.
He grabbed Jenny Sima’s hand and was the first to leap onto Goldwing’s back. Macy Mei, the Violet Thunder Fox, simply floated up and landed gracefully, leaving Zack Zhao and the others astonished.
Excited and a little scared, everyone climbed onto Goldwing’s back. Soon, they lifted off and soared into the sky.
Goldwing flew incredibly fast, the wind whistling past their ears. With Macy Mei leading the way, they quickly arrived at their destination.
After Goldwing landed, Evan Chu immediately noticed that this teleportation gate was different from the one in the ordinary zone.
This teleportation gate is built directly into the mountain wall, not on open ground.
The gate stands over three meters tall and more than two meters wide. A thick mist fills the center, making it impossible to see through, and three stone platforms sit in front, each covered in moss.
Beside the gate, a smooth stone wall is inscribed with words. Though wind and rain have blurred some of the characters, the general meaning is still readable.
After carefully reading the inscription, Evan Chu couldn’t help but smile wryly. "Is the elite area’s teleportation gate really this simple? You just put Magic Crystals into the grooves on the platforms up front, and it’ll send three people at a time."
Thinking back to how he and Goldwing had struggled so hard to pull out the stone rod just so Roxanne Lin and the others could leave, it was almost laughable.
Suddenly, Evan’s mind flashed with suspicion—could this be a trick? The ordinary-class gate was so difficult, so why was the elite-class one so easy?
With that thought, Evan immediately asked Macy Mei, the Violet Thunder Fox, "Xiaoxiao, how did students get through in the past? Have you ever seen it?"
Macy giggled, her voice as enchanting as ever. "Hehe, it’s written right there! Just put your Magic Crystals in and the gate will open. Why ask me? Big brother, you’re not worried the instructions are fake, are you?"
Evan blushed at Macy’s teasing—he really was worrying too much. He could only nod helplessly.
Just then, Zack Zhao walked over to Evan and said, "Since the inscription says to put Magic Crystals into the grooves on the platforms, let’s do it now. Everyone’s eager to go home."
"Alright, but let’s clean the moss off the platforms first."
The moss was quickly cleared away, and Evan found that the platforms did indeed have grooves. But the grooves were so small, there was no way to fit fifty Magic Crystals in them. He found it a bit strange.
Zack Zhao noticed Evan’s confusion and immediately said, "Maybe the crystals get converted into energy when you put them in, like the Stellar Cultivation Chamber. Want to try it?"
"Alright, let’s pick three people to test it." Evan agreed with Zack’s logic.
Three volunteers stepped up and each put their Magic Crystals into the grooves. Just as Zack predicted, the crystals instantly vanished.
Each of the three fed their crystals in. When all fifty Magic Crystals per person were in, the platform shook, and a blinding white light shot skyward. The gate itself began to glow faintly.
"It worked! Hurry, get into the gate! Everyone’s waiting!" Zack urged.
The three immediately entered the gate and vanished. Seconds later, the glow faded from both the gate and the platform, returning them to normal.
Seeing the teleportation work, everyone was elated, relief washing over them. Smiles broke out on every face—even Quinn Wu wasn’t scowling anymore.
They continued to teleport in groups of three, quickly sending everyone away. Zack was in the last batch. Watching his classmates leave, Evan felt a surge of excitement—he wanted to go back too, but his mission wasn’t finished yet.
Evan stayed behind, and naturally Jenny Sima did too. Even though she was reluctant, she endured it for Evan’s sake.
"Evan, why aren’t you going back?" Jenny asked, puzzled.
"I promised Dean Xavier I’d take first place this time. With the Magic Crystals I have left, it’s still a bit tough. I’m planning to hunt a few more Sea Dragon Academy students before heading back. But you really should return—you don’t need to stay here just for me," Evan said.
"I want to stay because you’re here. If I went back without you by my side, that would be truly unbearable. Do you understand?" Jenny replied softly.
Evan knew exactly what she meant. She cared for him so deeply, loved him so much, that she’d endure anything for his sake. Moved by her devotion, he couldn’t help but pull Jenny into his arms.
He spoke gently, "I understand your feelings. I’m sorry for putting you through all this."
Nestled in Evan’s embrace, Jenny felt especially warm. "It’s not suffering. As long as you’re by my side, even hardship feels sweet."
Evan was deeply moved by Jenny’s words. Having a woman like her by his side was true happiness. He said, "Jenny, I’m grateful for the choice you made. But staying here is really dangerous. Think about it carefully, okay?"
"My mind is made up. Don’t say anything more. Even if something unexpected happens, I won’t regret it—as long as you understand my heart." Jenny choked back tears as she spoke.
Evan answered Jenny not with words, but by gently pulling her into his arms again…
Goldwing saw the two of them embracing right in front of him and thought his boss was just too domineering—he had no idea what to do.
Just then, Macy suddenly piped up, "Hey, big brother, if you and sis want to do that kind of thing, at least find a better place! Goldwing and I are still here, you know. Have a little decency! You’re embarrassing us!"
Macy’s words forced Evan and Jenny to stop. Evan looked at her, flustered. "Xiaoxiao, you… couldn’t you just walk away?" The little fox had left him speechless.
Jenny’s face was crimson, her body heating up. She whispered to Evan, "Evan, I… I want to…" but couldn’t finish the sentence.
Seeing her so flustered, Evan asked, "What is it you want?"
Jenny’s voice was as soft as a mosquito’s hum: "I think… we should leave this place."
