Falling Onto Lily Bai
Xiao Yi glanced at Leo Li.
"When this arrow was locked in the Frost Casket before, it had no glow at all, and there was a lightning sigil at the tail," Leo Li said. "Now, the sigil is gone, the killing aura is blazing—this means it’s already recognized a master."
Once a weapon recognizes its master, if anyone tries to move it without the owner's permission, it'll attack them. No exceptions.
If you’re attacked by a regular Divine Artifact, maybe you’ll survive.
But if the Tenfold Oblivion Arrow hits you... you’ll be fried to death.
Xiao Yi stared at the arrow, breathing hard, eyes practically spitting fire. He kept muttering, "How could it recognize you as its master? How is that possible?!"
At some point, Azure Flame had silently appeared beside Damian Black, shifting into her true form—a Fire Demon Drake.
Damian Black hauled Lily Bai up and leapt onto Azure Flame’s back.
Azure Flame spread her wings and took off.
"Stop right there!" Xiao Yi and Leo Li both moved at the same time.
Azure Flame whipped her head around and, with a thunderous roar, spewed a jet of fire. The two men scrambled to dodge.
In that split second, Azure Flame had already cast a spell and sped far ahead.
Lily Bai’s heart finally started to panic. She struggled to break free and escape.
But Damian Black gripped her arm like an iron clamp. With her spiritual power sealed, she couldn’t break free at all.
Maybe... she’d have to sever her own arm!
Cutting off the arm he held and escaping—that had to be better than dying here.
Lily Bai steeled herself, channeling her power to her shoulder joint, ready to chop off her own arm and make a run for it.
But Damian Black was faster—he sealed her spiritual power again before she could act.
And instead of grabbing her arm, he switched to choking her by the neck.
Well, she couldn’t exactly chop off her own neck...
Lily Bai felt like crying.
Henry Xiao and Leo Li were still chasing after them.
Lily Bai waved frantically, shouting for help: “Fourth Highness! Young Master Drake! Save me!”
Henry Xiao sped up even more.
He even transformed into his drake form, darting between heaven and earth.
Azure Flame, being a demon drake and not a god, just couldn’t match Henry Xiao’s speed. The gap between them kept shrinking.
But then, a stretch of black mist appeared ahead, crackling with thunder and lightning.
The lightning was exactly like the Genesis Bolt from moments ago.
Azure Flame dove right in.
Henry Xiao tried to follow, but Leo Li yanked him back just in time.
Henry Xiao shifted back to human form, fuming. “Why are you stopping me?”
“Why do you think?” Leo Li snapped. “You seriously don’t know what’s inside this maze? You want to rush in and get yourself killed?”
Henry Xiao slammed the ground in frustration, unable to calm down.
“Even if Damian Black has the Tenfold Oblivion Arrow, he’s still absorbing lightning through his body. He must be seriously hurt,” Leo Li said. “Let’s head back, gather the Gods, and figure out a plan.”
Henry Xiao took a deep breath, nodded, and led his troops away.
...
Black clouds blotted out the sky, thunder and lightning everywhere.
The lightning here was Genesis Bolt too.
But Azure Flame twisted and turned, dodging every single bolt.
Lily Bai’s eyes went wide. She gasped, “Is this... the legendary Wildlands Tribulation Thunder Array? The one even gods and ghosts won’t enter?”
Damian Black still had her by the throat. Hearing her, he turned his eyes to her.
Their eyes met.
Right now, Damian Black looked like a scorched sweet potato just pulled out of the fire.
His clothes were in tatters, his whole body charred black, burned fabric and skin fused together—a sight that hurt just to look at.
But his back was ramrod straight, and even with scorch marks all over his face, he looked just as cold and composed as ever.
He acted like he’d only suffered a few scrapes.
Seriously, what kind of monster is he...
