Exploring the Yun Family's History

Cecilia Gu was pulled away by Rona Muir, leaving her seat and heading out first.

Max Mo turned around and met Charles Yin's gaze.

Charles Yin, if you let go now, I won't hold back!

Max Mo, Cecilia Gu is mine. You can forget about laying a finger on her in this lifetime!

The stares of the two men collided fiercely in the air.

Sylvia Ran glanced at Charles Yin, then at Max Mo, and seemed to understand something.

Max Mo then caught up with Cecilia Gu and Rona Muir, while his assistant had already prepared the car.

As soon as the three of them stepped outside, the assistant opened the car door for them.

Cecilia Gu leaned back in her seat, and before she could say anything, Max Mo walked in carrying a box.

"What's this?" Cecilia Gu asked curiously.

"This is a local snack from K City. Don’t eat too much or you’ll spoil your appetite for dinner." Max Mo smiled and said, "Try it out. If you like it, take some home."

When they heard there was food, Cecilia Gu and Rona Muir immediately perked up.

When they opened the box, sure enough, there were several delicate snacks inside.

Cecilia Gu was already a bit hungry, and seeing the snacks, she didn’t hold back—she picked one up and happily started eating.

"Mmm, this is so delicious!" Cecilia Gu nodded and said, "Rona, try this one, it’s really great! Let’s take some back with us!"

Rona Muir also took a bite and nodded, saying, "You’re right! This kind of snack only tastes this good locally. Everywhere else, the flavor’s just not the same."

"Mmm, exactly!" Cecilia Gu and Rona Muir kept eating, clearly enjoying themselves.

When Cecilia Gu was almost done eating, Max Mo handed them wet wipes to clean their hands.

Rona Muir asked Max Mo in confusion, "I’ve traveled all over with my boss, but I’ve never seen this snack before. Or maybe it’s just never tasted this good."

Max Mo smiled gently and said, "Of course. This snack is actually a Yun Family specialty. This box was sent over by them."

Cecilia Gu was stunned. The Yun Family?

Of course, since she came to K City as the young mistress of the Yin Family, the Yun Family would naturally know about her.

But the snacks the Yun Family sent—were they hoping to use her as a way to express their longing for their lost daughter?

"Don’t misunderstand, these are for you, not anyone else." Max Mo guessed what Cecilia Gu was thinking and quickly explained, "These were sent by Auntie Yun Xiaoqing. She’s met you and really likes you. That’s all."

Cecilia Gu smiled gently. "It’s fine, even if they’re using me to express their longing for someone else, I can understand. Now that I’m a mother too, I resonate with those feelings."

Seeing that Cecilia Gu didn’t mind, Max Mo secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Max Mo was a local, so he naturally knew all the best places to eat and have fun.

Max Mo took Cecilia Gu and Rona Muir to a local historic site. He’d made arrangements in advance, so the site was closed to the public and open just for the three of them.

The best guide at the site enthusiastically gave Cecilia Gu and Rona Muir a tour.

Cecilia Gu actually loved traveling, but her family was poor when she was young, and even after growing up… well, she was still poor, so she barely had the chance to travel.
