Almost Shaking Sean Shaw Into Coughing Blood
"He's definitely not a normal person," Lily Bai said. "He doesn't even have a pulse, and there's no blood."
"What kind of spell is this? It's amazing!"
"Which scale of yours is he? Can you turn back into your true form so I can see?"
Sean Shaw kept ignoring her, refusing to discuss it.
But Lily Bai had no intention of giving up.
She was determined to figure it out today.
Seeing Sean Shaw resting with his eyes closed, Lily Bai suddenly slapped a talisman on him.
Sean instantly reverted into a little dragon.
He lay flat on the bed, eyes wide in shock as he stared at her.
Lily Bai grabbed him, inspecting him from every angle until she finally found the damaged, hole-punched scale at his waist.
"Found it, found it! A red scale! It looks just like Yunqi! Hahaha!" Lily Bai dangled the little dragon, laughing so hard she nearly shook Sean Shaw into coughing up blood.
Sean Shaw struggled out of her grip and dove under the covers.
After a while, the talisman wore off, and Sean Shaw returned to human form, glaring at her furiously.
"Don't look at me like that! I was just curious!" Lily Bai said. "I've always wondered why Skye and you have exactly the same aura. Turns out, he's actually a part of you."
Sean Shaw took a deep breath and finally said, "He was created by my mother's magic. The reason I heal so quickly is because of him."
"But at the same time, he's my weakness. If he gets hurt, I get hurt too! And since he's just a scale, his cultivation can't go very high. So before my mother left, she told me never to reveal this weakness to anyone!"
"So, Miss Bai, please don't tell anyone about this."
Lily Bai nodded like a bobblehead. "Got it! I absolutely won't tell anyone—wait, what did you just call me? Miss Bai?"
"What else would I call you? Miss Lu?"
Lily Bai: "...Heh!"
...
Getting stabbed in the soft scale was a lot less serious than getting stabbed in his real body.
Plus, his self-healing was ridiculously strong. After lying around for half a day, he was up and moving by evening.
"You must be tired of lying around all day," Lily Bai asked. "Want me to walk with you outside?"
Sean Shaw glanced at her and nodded.
So the two of them went for a walk in the peach grove.
Ryan Lu spotted them from afar, bouncing and waving, wanting to run over.
Luna Lian grabbed him and clapped a hand over his mouth. "Where do you think you're going?"
"Mmmph—I'm going to play with them!"
"Can you use a little common sense?" Luna Lian said. "Do you really think it's appropriate for you to join them right now?"
Over there, Lily Bai kept chattering away, lively as ever, while Fifth Highness said nothing, just walking with his hands behind his back, cool and aloof.
The peach grove was peaceful, birds and butterflies fluttering nearby. The atmosphere between them was so relaxed and easy, no one wanted to disturb it.
Ryan Lu pouted and turned away, sulking.
Luna Lian just shook her head with a smile, told the servants not to bother them, and left too.
...
"Hey, do you know what Divine Lord Tanya Quinn told me?" Lily Bai asked.
Sean Shaw: "No idea."
"She told me that back then, the Oracle of Drake Abyss predicted a Demon Emperor would rise and throw the Three Realms into chaos. So the Celestial Emperor formed the Three-Realms Joint Army and sent us into the Primeval Demon Wilds to capture a bunch of powerful demons—all to deal with the Demon Emperor! Hahaha!" Just thinking about it made her laugh.
