Is Lily Evans Sick
When Su Li woke up, it was already the first day of the Lunar New Year. Rubbing her eyes and opening them, she noticed it was much brighter outside than usual. She pushed open the window and saw the world blanketed in silver, with large snowflakes drifting down from the sky. The crisp air instantly refreshed her spirit.
A new year brings new beginnings. Everyone in the Prince's Manor donned fresh clothes, and the two little girls, Emily 'Yaya' Wang and White Lily, couldn't help but romp about in the snow.
Even April, though a bit older, couldn't resist the temptation and joined the snowball fight.
The giggles of the three girls soon attracted Quentin Lin from next door.
Four children of different ages tumbled and played in the snow, their laughter making the nearby gatekeepers double over with mirth.
"Quentin, where's your mother?" Su Li asked as she watched Quentin Lin build a snowman.
Quentin was having so much fun that he blurted out, "Dad and Mom are making a baby! I don't know if they've gotten up yet!"
Su Li's mouth formed an 'O' shape, and then she saw Mrs. Wang walking over. Hearing Quentin's words, Mrs. Wang's face turned bright red with embarrassment, and she hurriedly covered her face and ran away.
"Hahaha, Mom's embarrassed!" Su Li clutched her stomach, laughing so hard she nearly doubled over.
"Sister Li, help me build a snowman!" Quentin Lin grinned and invited Su Li to join the snow games.
Su Li, usually busy and wound up like a top, finally got to relax for the New Year. Suddenly, she realized she was just a seventeen-year-old girl—still not even an adult by modern standards!
The playful mood caught up with Su Li too, and she enthusiastically joined Quentin Lin in building a snowman.
Alexander Hayes stood nearby, his eyes full of adoration as he watched his beloved wife play in the snow like a child.
"There's still not enough snow! We need more to make a big snowman!" Su Li called out breathlessly, her cheeks flushed with excitement and laughter.
Quentin Lin took her words to heart and started shoveling snow with both hands, his little fingers turning red from the cold.
Su Li quickly grabbed Quentin Lin’s hands and rubbed them to warm him up. "Quentin, don’t stay in the cold too long or your hands will get frostbite. Here, let me show you how to warm them up with snow—no frostbite this way!"
Quentin Lin’s eyes sparkled with admiration. "Su Li, you really know everything!"
Su Li grinned, her face bright. "Of course! I’m an agricultural expert, remember? Snow is just frozen water—nothing scary about it!"
Alexander Hayes couldn’t help but laugh, his deep voice echoing in the snowy courtyard. "You two are quite the pair—who knew building a snowman could be so lively?"
Just as everyone was swept up in the fun, Su Li suddenly paused, her breath coming in short, shallow gasps.
Alexander Hayes immediately noticed and strode over, worry etched on his face. "Su Li, are you alright?"
Su Li tried to wave him off, but her legs wobbled, and she nearly collapsed. Alexander Hayes caught her just in time.
Quentin Lin rushed to her side, panic in his voice. "Su Li! What’s wrong?"
Alexander Hayes quickly scooped Su Li into his arms and headed for the house. "Call for a doctor—now!"
Quentin Lin dashed inside, his voice ringing out as he called for help. The courtyard, moments ago filled with laughter, now buzzed with anxious energy.
Alexander Hayes laid Su Li gently on the couch, his hands trembling as he brushed the hair from her forehead.
Su Li blinked up at him, her lips pale. "I’m fine, really... just a little dizzy."
Alexander Hayes shook his head, his voice gentle but firm. "No, Lily, you’re not fine. The doctor will be here soon."
Quentin Lin hovered nearby, his eyes wide with worry, as the household prepared for the doctor’s arrival.
