The Loom of Time

12/19/2025

"The Creation Brush..." Jade Vaughn's eyes gleamed with insatiable greed. For someone like him, mountains of cultivation resources were no longer the most important thing. What mattered most were the universe's rare treasures—and the Creation Brush was one of those few.

As the word 'Realm' descended, a new domain rapidly formed around Joe Di. The strands of Twilight Dao Resonance unleashed by the Twilight Comb fell upon the character Joe Di had cast, surging like waves of his divine power, relentless and unending.

Sss—! A piercing, grating sound exploded in the air as the domain conjured by the Creation Brush rapidly dissolved. An irresistible aura of time swept over, and in an instant, Joe Di felt himself aging—his hair turning from black to gray.

As flowers bloom, they must someday fall; in life, our temples will all turn gray.

Joe Di stared blankly at the strands of time and years combed out by the Twilight Comb. It was as if he were watching flowers blossom and wither, or witnessing his own gradual aging—time slipping away, never to be his again.

Boom! The first Twilight Dominion unleashed by the Twilight Comb finally tore through Joe Di's domain. Instantly, his hair turned completely white, his skin aged rapidly, and his vitality began to wane at an alarming rate.

Joe Di was shocked, but in that split second, he regained his clarity. Without waiting for the second wave of Twilight Dao Resonance to strike, he summoned the Lethe Bridge.

In an instant, the resonance of reincarnation transformed into ring after ring of heavenly Lethe aura, surging around Joe Di.

The second temporal divine art struck the Lethe aura atop the bridge, stirring up waves of time in the void—twilight surging everywhere. Yet, within the fluctuations of this temporal aura, Joe Di sensed a new law.

With a long roar, Joe Di realized that after summoning the Lethe Bridge, he had a chance to escape. But at this moment, he abandoned that chance completely. The Dao resonance of the Lethe Bridge surged wildly, continuing to clash with the second wave of twilight and years unleashed by the Twilight Comb.

A single loom—years woven and gone in a flash!

Boom! Joe Di gained complete understanding of the law of time within. Crack! His skin and bones shattered—an aura of aging and death swept over him.

Joe Di laughed heartily, not the slightest bit disheartened. He swept up the Lethe Bridge, his figure vanishing instantly from beneath the Twilight Comb.

His distant chant echoed: "A single loom—years woven and gone in a flash..."

This was the Loom of Ages he had just comprehended. After entering the Dao Domain, he finally grasped a new supreme technique—the Loom of Ages.

Someday, when he masters the Second Loom of Ages or even the Third, he will use the power of time itself to teach Jade Vaughn a lesson with his own Twilight arts.

But today, he had to leave. If he didn't, he would die at Jade Vaughn's hands. That man's Twilight Dominion was simply too terrifying. Fortunately, Joe Di's physical body was formidable and his lifespan long.

Jade Vaughn trembled with excitement, muttering, "The Creation Brush, the Lethe Bridge—this is the Lethe Bridge, it's really the Lethe Bridge..."

Immediately, he charged madly in the direction Joe Di had escaped. At that moment, he even forgot to wonder how Joe Di had survived under the Twilight Comb—he only wanted to capture Joe Di, to refine every inch of him and uncover all his secrets.

He secretly cursed: Why did all these ants with lesser talent have better fortune than him, Jade Vaughn? Whether it was the Lethe Bridge or those elusive laws, even the Creation Brush—if only he could obtain just one, his achievements would far surpass today.

Jade Vaughn's achievements and fortune today had almost nothing to do with luck—they were all earned through his own wisdom and scheming.

......

Joe Di did not use any Cosmic Essence, nor did he take Dao Pills to restore his vitality.

The First Cosmic Essence was precious, and he had little left. His vitality had been severely stripped away by Jade Vaughn's Twilight Dominion, but as long as his cultivation advanced, he could reclaim all he had lost.

Most importantly, Joe Di was still comprehending the lingering aura of time left on him. Jade Vaughn truly was formidable—though he nearly perished, it allowed him to grasp a time-based divine art that was truly his. With the Loom of Ages, his vitality would no longer be corroded by the Twilight Dominion.

As long as he found the place Jade Vaughn had mentioned and mastered the Loom of Ages, he would never again be limited to just the Azure Veil Blade in battle.

Jade Vaughn knew his escape arts were lacking, but he did not consider himself weaker than Joe Di. What was Joe Di's cultivation? What was his own?

With his level of cultivation, catching up to Joe Di shouldn't have been difficult. It wasn't a matter of escape technique—it was a matter of cultivation gap.

Yet soon, Jade Vaughn was stunned. Even when he pushed his escape art to the limit, the distance between him and Joe Di only grew. Clearly, the gap in escape technique was even greater than the gap in cultivation.

If he hadn't been so unwilling to let his prize slip away, he would have given up long ago.

Those elusive laws, the Creation Brush, the Lethe Bridge...

Each one was something he had dreamed of. Before this, they had been mere steps away—and all possessed by an ant who hadn't even reached the Third Step. How could he accept their sudden disappearance?

Joe Di wasn't worried at all that Jade Vaughn could catch him. After comprehending the pinnacle of the Dao, his Lawstride technique now stood at the very summit of the universe.

Perhaps some escape arts could rival his Lawstride, but Joe Di refused to believe any could surpass it.

At this moment, Joe Di did not head for the vortex. Instead, he went to the place Jade Vaughn had mentioned—the source of this universe's vital energy.

He was now at the initial stage of the Prime Realm, and having just grasped the Loom of Ages, what he needed most were all kinds of elemental energies. Although his Ninth World held some resources, they were not nearly enough for Joe Di.

Moreover, Nora Xiu was in seclusion within the Ninth World, consuming a great deal of resources.

As time passed, Joe Di's insight into the Loom of Ages grew deeper, and the twilight aura left by Jade Vaughn on his body faded away.

At this point, Jade Vaughn could only track Joe Di by following the lingering Twilight Dao Resonance.

Another three months passed. Jade Vaughn stopped, gazing into the boundless void, sighing. His eyes were filled with unwillingness—the treasures he had nearly grasped had slipped away. He hadn't even managed to catch a Prime Realm cultivator...

That was bad enough, but the real issue was that he had thoroughly offended this Prime Realm cultivator. If someone had told him before that a Boundary Fusion Realm cultivator should worry about offending a Prime Realm cultivator, he would have just laughed it off. But now, Jade Vaughn was genuinely anxious about offending Joe Di.

Joe Di could withstand his Second Layer Twilight Dominion even at the Prime Realm. What would happen once Joe Di reached the Third Step?

With another long sigh, Jade Vaughn could only lament: in life, disappointments far outnumber successes.

......

After erasing the twilight Dao resonance from his body, Joe Di knew Jade Vaughn would never catch him again. With newfound clarity in his Dao, his cultivation would grow stronger by the day—and at an accelerating pace. Next time they met, it would be Jade Vaughn who had to flee.

Having shaken off Jade Vaughn, Joe Di's speed did not slow at all. Following the coordinates inscribed in Jade Vaughn's jade slip, he continued his rapid flight for another month before finally stopping.

Joe Di had never been to the Chaotic Realm, but he had visited the Lost Dao Domain. The Lost Dao Domain had once been an unformed chaotic world, so Joe Di had some experience with hidden chaotic realms like this.

The place before him looked no different from any other void, but Joe Di could clearly sense subtle differences in the cosmic rules here.

Unfortunately, his Eye of the Way was still too low in rank; otherwise, even if his divine sense couldn't reach, his Eye of the Way would have revealed it.
