Farewell to Bianca Whitefan
Soren Lann said nothing.
Lily Bai stood up and cast a searching spell, hoping to find Azure Flame's remains.
But after searching for a long time, she found nothing at all.
Later, Sean Shaw and Lily Bai both returned.
Soren Lann squatted in front of that stone gate, unmoving for a long time.
He kept feeling that, somehow, he'd just lost something truly important.
Why is he always like this?
……
After Sean Shaw returned, he sent troops to attack the Scarlet Clan.
But through interrogation, they discovered a fact: very few members of the Scarlet Clan knew about Jenna Stormscar's conspiracy.
Even those who did know, didn't know much.
In the end, Sean Shaw simply tightened supervision over them and didn't do anything else.
As for Evercrest Immortal Mountain, he turned it completely upside down—everyone who deserved death was executed.
Like Harvey Yule, for example.
But as for Jenna Stormscar, Liam Leshan, and Lily Bai herself, even after gathering the full power of the Sigil Sect, they still couldn't find them—no sign of life, no corpse, as if they'd vanished into thin air.
And that mysterious sphere Liam Leshan gave Soren Lann—it really could open the Void Gate.
No one knew what it actually was, or where it came from.
Even the Fish had no idea.
……
Twenty years later.
Lily Bai clutched Bianca Whitefan's hand, her tears falling in big drops.
She was already at the end of her strength, her life flickering out.
"Don't be so sad..." Bianca Whitefan reached out to wipe away her tears. "As a regular human-race fiend, I've lived two hundred thousand years—I've got no regrets left."
"Mom...I can't bear to let you go..." Lily Bai choked out, sobbing.
"I still miss your Divine Father..." Bianca Whitefan gazed out the window at the sky. "I don't know...if a fiend can even reincarnate... If I could, my greatest wish would be to meet him again. If there's a next life, I'd treat him so, so well—and never waste a single moment..."
"Yeah, you will, you definitely will!" Lily Bai sobbed.
Bianca Whitefan reached out and gripped Sean Shaw's hand: "Sean, Xiaoyu, you two have to live well... have lots of kids, and be happy together."
"Okay." Sean Shaw's eyes reddened slightly. "Don't worry, I swear I'll protect her—all my life, forever."
"You're the kind of child I can trust..." Bianca Whitefan murmured, her hand slowly falling as she closed her eyes forever.
"Mom..." Lily Bai held her and sobbed in grief.
Sean Shaw reached out and gently patted her back.
……
After Bianca Whitefan passed away, Lily Bai was listless and depressed.
More than half a month went by; she was gloomy all day, didn't want to go out, and couldn't muster any interest in anything.
Ezra Cloud and Chacha, trying to cheer her up, specially went to Peach Blossom Haven and brought back two pots of Luminous Golden Chalice Blooms, presenting them like treasures before her.
"Your Highness the Crown Princess, these are from your residence! Look, aren't they blooming beautifully?" Ezra Cloud said.
Lily Bai glanced at them and asked, "Why did you bring them all the way here? The climate in Drake Abyss is too cold for them to grow well."
"We... we just saw you always unhappy and wanted to cheer you up a bit," Chacha said, looking guilty. "Are you mad at us? Should we take them back?"
Lily Bai stopped them: "Forget it! They're already here—just keep them here."
The two perked up and brought out a basket of Immortal Flat Peaches. "Your Highness the Crown Princess, these are from High Goddess Vivian Lu! Please have some!"
Lily Bai shook her head. "You two eat them. I don't feel like eating."
