"Ha! At least you know a thing or two!" The purple-robed boy boasted smugly. "You two are just waiting to get eaten by her! She doesn't care about anyone—she'll turn on her own kin!"
"Doesn't care about her own kin? That sounds weird—who's related to her anyway?" Lucia Lu asked.
The boy said nothing.
"Huh? Flying Demon Drake... Soulbane Vine..." Lucia Lu suddenly thought of something and looked him up and down. "Don't tell me you two are..."
"Are what, are what! We're nothing!" the boy suddenly cut her off, smacking at her with his palm.
Lucia Lu caught his hand in one swift motion.
In his little palm, there was a smear of blue.
It was poison.
"Madame Jealousy?" Lucia Lu pointed at him. "You can refine poison too?"
"None of your business! Let me go!"
Lucia Lu cast an Immobilization Spell, freezing him in place.
Then she sent a voice transmission to Sean Shaw: "Stop fighting! That might be the Gatekeeper's Flying Demon Drake!"
But the two were already fighting fiercely.
The Flying Demon Drake unleashed all sorts of spells; at this moment, it was using a powerful lightning spell to trap Sean Shaw in a thunder array.
The lightning was red, as powerful as Tribulation Lightning—even at this distance, Lucia Lu found it hard to endure.
At this moment, Sean Shaw put away his sword and summoned an arrow.
The Tenfold Oblivion Arrow!
The arrow he obtained in Emperor Evan Xiao’s mausoleum.
The Gatekeeper’s arrow.
All the lightning was sucked into the bead at the arrow’s tail; then, Sean Shaw drove the arrow straight at the Flying Demon Drake.
The Flying Demon Drake transformed.
It took the form of a young woman.
She was tall, imposing, and wore a cold expression.
Sean Shaw forcibly withdrew the arrow.
"Where did you get that?" The young woman stared him down. "The Tenfold Oblivion Arrow—where did you get it?"
Sean Shaw smiled and bowed. "Senior Azure Flame, the arrow was a gift from the Gatekeeper."
"You recognize me?" Azure Flame asked.
"There’s a portrait of you in the Celestial Palace," Sean Shaw replied. "With your cultivation, and the Soulbane Vine that descended to the mortal realm with you, it wasn’t hard to guess."
Azure Flame said nothing more and flew over to Lucia Lu and Bones.
Lucia Lu hurriedly released Bones and bowed as well. "Senior Azure Flame."
"Come in and have a seat! Bones, go boil some tea." Azure Flame led the two into the cave.
The cave entrance was small, but inside it was spacious, warm, and even a bit refined.
Bones grudgingly went to boil water, glancing back at them from time to time.
"I am Lucia Lu, daughter of Lu Qingzhu of the Bright God Realm," Lucia Lu said. "You may not know my father, but you must have heard of my great-grandfather, Divine Lord Lucas Lu."
"A descendant of Lucas Lu." Azure Flame raised her brows.
Sean Shaw also introduced himself: "I am—"
"No need," Azure Flame interrupted. "With the Puresteel Sword in your hand, how could I not know who you are? Son of the Divine Emperor."
"I am Sean Shaw, fifth in line."
"Why are you here?"
"Well, you see..." Lucia Lu explained. "We came to subdue the great demon."
"What, you want to subdue me?" Azure Flame asked.
"Not at all!" Lucia Lu said. "If we’d known it was you two, we’d have left long ago—we’d never dare disturb you."
Azure Flame and Bones were both attendants of the Gatekeeper.
After the Gatekeeper passed away, they served Emperor Evan Xiao.
It’s said that before Emperor Evan Xiao left, he meant to send them, along with Lord Noctis, to Southcourt Palace.
But instead, they left the Divine Realm and descended to the mortal world, living freely in seclusion from then on.
