"If we have to use one, use the pill refined for His Majesty the Celestial Emperor." Lucy Luan clutched her Storage Pouch protectively.
Sean Shaw smiled, "Of course."
"Um..." Lucy hesitated, wanting to say something but stopping herself.
"What is it?"
"Everything they're saying about me is total nonsense," Lucy said.
"Total nonsense?"
"Of course! The Divine Lord, Adrian Drake, they're all just like siblings to me! I see them the same way I see Ryan Lu!"
Sean was silent for a moment, then suddenly asked, "And what about me?"
"Huh?"
"Am I just like Ryan Lu to you, too?"
Lucy bit her lip. "...Let's just keep looking for the Redface Beauty Chicory."
She turned and walked away.
After searching for ages, she finally found it.
It looked a bit like aloe, with red blossoms—dewy, vibrant, and absolutely gorgeous.
Back at the Spirit Alliance, she extracted the juice from the Redface Beauty Chicory, processed it, and sprayed it on both of them.
If the Soulbane Vine dared to absorb their Divine Power again, it'd be poisoned and shrivel up.
The two of them set out again for the Primeval Demon Wilds, dove deep into the Primeval Abyss Gorge, and arrived at that ominous cave mouth once more.
Lucy strode right up, bold as brass, and planted herself in front of the Soulbane Vine.
This time, the vine seemed to have developed intelligence—it didn't move at all, as if it could smell the Redface Beauty Chicory.
"Go on, suck! Why aren't you sucking now?" Lucy reached out and pinched its leaf. "Come on, I dare you!"
In a flash of purple light, the Soulbane Vine suddenly transformed into a purple-robed child.
Lucy, who had been pinching its leaf, found herself pinching his cheek instead.
The child glared at her. "You two again! What do you want now?"
"Whoa! You actually transformed?" Lucy raised an eyebrow, pinching harder. "A little guy like you sure lives well! Normal Soulbane Vines can't transform. Just how much Divine Power have you sucked up?"
"None of your business! Who are you anyway?" The child slapped her hand away. "Why are you here?"
"Let me ask you, what's with that weird oppressive aura in this place?" Lucy asked.
"How should I know!"
"You live here and you don't know?"
"Just because I live here doesn't mean I know everything! No one can get close to what's down there."
"Fine... But you must at least know what's in the cave, right?"
"Why do you want to know?"
"We want to capture two powerful demon beasts and take them back to the Divine Realm," Lucy said. "The really strong ones. We won't hurt them, just bring them back."
"Ha!" The child snickered. "You two little brats sure talk big."
"Oh? You think we can't handle it?"
"You can try," he said, then suddenly let out a piercing scream. "Aah! Help!"
The scream was sharp and panicked, like he was really in mortal danger.
Just as the scream faded, a beam of white light shot out from the cave, morphing into a gigantic beast that lunged at them.
Its color and body were like forged steel; its outstretched wings blotted out the sky, radiating a terrifying aura.
Sean Shaw drew his sword and faced it head-on.
It was the Puresteel Sword, the ancestral blade of the dragon clan, passed down through generations.
