Today, no matter what, the Blue Clan Patriarch was determined to seize this stronghold.
But plans never keep up with reality. No matter how hard the Blue Clan Patriarch tried, the other side always had a way to counter him. Frustrated, he glared and said, “Free Alliance, do you really want to go against our Blue Clan?”
“What’s so great about your Blue Clan? Without that one behind you, you wouldn’t be anything!” The other person sneered, giving him no face at all.
Seeing the other side completely unfazed and even mocking him, the Blue Clan Patriarch snorted coldly. “Fine, your Free Alliance will pay for what you did today.”
Then, furious, he stormed off, with the Guard Captain and others quickly following behind.
“They left?” White Wolf and the others said in surprise.
“Don’t let your guard down. The Blue Clan won’t give up that easily. But as long as I’m here, they won’t be able to stir up any trouble.” The Free Alliance’s Spirit‑Wandering expert said.
“Senior Tian, what if that one from the Blue Clan shows up?” White Wolf couldn’t help but worry about the appearance of that Blue Clan figure, especially after hearing in the base that he might break through to an even higher realm. Just thinking about it made him uneasy.
“Don’t worry. Right now, that person is facing something big. He won’t abandon it just for this small matter.” The man smiled.
“Something big? What could be so important?” White Wolf and the others looked at each other, puzzled. What kind of event could make a powerhouse ignore his clan’s safety and dignity—even skip the second Demon Sect invasion?
“You’ll find out in the future. If I told you now, it’d just be idle talk.” After glancing at everyone, the man said this and left.
White Wolf and the others were left exchanging confused looks.
Blue Clan, a few days later. The Blue Clan Patriarch sat in the castle, with Terry Blue, Bennett Blue, and the Guard Captain present.
Ever since Evan Yang dealt such a heavy blow to the Blue Clan, whenever anything related to him came up, everyone would gather together.
Right now, they were curious because the Patriarch had gone to a Free Alliance stronghold to capture Evan Yang, but came back empty-handed. Terry Blue and Bennett Blue wondered what happened—why didn’t they catch Evan, and why did their grandfather look so grim?
“Patriarch, should we ask that one to step in?” The Guard Captain, seeing the Blue Clan Patriarch leave in disgrace for the first time, felt especially uneasy and wanted that person to come teach those people a lesson.
But the Patriarch sighed helplessly. “If it were possible, I’d have asked him to come during the second Demon Sect invasion. But he can’t.”
“Why?” The Guard Captain asked, and Terry Blue and Bennett Blue looked at the Patriarch, eager to hear the reason why even that one from the Blue Clan couldn’t step in.
“Actually, I should have told you all long ago. But I was afraid you’d lose faith in the Blue Clan.” The Patriarch looked at his three most trusted people with resignation.
“What’s going on?” The three sensed something odd about the situation.
The Blue Clan Patriarch didn’t answer directly. Instead, he asked, “Terry, Bennett, do you know where your parents, uncles, and aunts went?”
“Didn’t they go somewhere to train in secret?” Terry Blue and Bennett Blue exchanged glances, and Terry spoke to the Patriarch.
“Training? That’s just a cover—a story for everyone else.” The Blue Clan Patriarch said helplessly.
“A cover? Why?” The two looked at the Patriarch in disbelief. Not just them—even the Guard Captain was shocked by the news.
“Sigh, it’s mainly related to the Death Crystal Field. And it’s so important that it’s always been kept secret.” The Blue Clan Patriarch explained.
The three all fixed their eyes on the Patriarch, waiting for his answer.
Death Crystal Field? Why is it connected to them?
As the truth came out, Terry Blue and Bennett Blue were so shocked they wondered if they were dreaming.
Even the Guard Captain was stunned.
“Now you should understand why that one can’t come out—not just him, even your parents can’t leave. The main reason is they have to stand guard there, or else the consequences would be dire.” The Blue Clan Patriarch said once he saw the three had taken it in.
Terry Blue and Bennett Blue finally understood, but the thought of Evan Yang getting away so easily made them furious.
But with all the Blue Clan’s key figures unable to appear, they could only swallow their anger.
“Grandpa, are we really going to let that guy get away forever?” Terry Blue said, unwilling to accept it.
“No. I’m just curious. When he entered the Shadowhand Guild, the area was sealed off—he shouldn’t have been able to disappear inside. But after he entered, the mountain was empty.” The Blue Clan Patriarch was now trying to figure out Evan Yang’s true identity and where he might have gone.
Could Evan Yang have gone underground somehow?
“Patriarch, could it be related to that formation?” the Guard Captain asked.
“That formation was destroyed long ago. If it’s possible, it must have been an old array. Maybe he got out through there.” The Patriarch muttered to himself.
“Grandpa, are we just going to let the Blue Clan be bullied like this?” Terry Blue and Bennett Blue had managed many cities, but lately their control had waned and people were growing dissatisfied with the clan.
“Looks like I’ll have to go there myself and see if I can bring back some strength.” The Blue Clan Patriarch said after thinking for a while.
“I want to go too.” Terry Blue was surprised and excited to hear about this family matter for the first time.
Bennett Blue also wanted to go, but the Patriarch refused. Before leaving, he specifically instructed the Guard Captain to manage the Blue Clan well and ensure the safety of these two.
This time, it was kept secret. After all, the Blue Clan now had only one Spirit-Wandering expert holding the fort, and if the Patriarch left, their defenses would be greatly weakened. If anyone had ill intentions toward the Blue Clan, the consequences would be severe.
So everything was done in secret. Apart from the three here, no one else knew.
Terry Blue and Bennett Blue went about their usual business, managing Baina together.
After some time, the Blue Clan Patriarch returned with a group of people, his confidence restored. He immediately took them to the stronghold.

When the stronghold members heard the Blue Clan was arriving with many experts—including Spirit-Wandering experts—they all looked uneasy. The others quickly left, afraid the Blue Clan’s actions might affect them.
“What do we do now?” Everyone sat together anxiously discussing. There were few left in the stronghold, and no one knew how many experts the Free Alliance had here or how many Spirit-Wandering experts they could send out to counter the Blue Clan.
“Looks like this place isn’t safe anymore.” Xin Jiang sighed helplessly.
“So what do we do now?” Brandon Tu asked. Although he was no longer a city lord, he was still responsible for everyone’s safety and their next move.
As the leader of the Shadowhand Guild, Xin Jiang had managed the sect for years, and naturally had her own distinctive way of keeping things organized.
After a moment of thought, she said, "We should split up. The Blue Clan doesn't know us—they only recognize Evan Yang. If we go our separate ways and regroup later, it'll be much safer.",
"Where do we go?" someone asked, puzzled.
Xin Jiang smiled. "I've got a few secret hideouts across the continent. You can lay low in one of them for now."
"Really? The Blue Clan won't find us there?"
"Not unless you give yourselves away," Xin Jiang replied, shaking her head with confidence. She was sure of her safehouses—besides, the continent was vast; no way the Blue Clan could search every inch.
Everyone went quiet, then started murmuring. Finally, Xin Jiang spoke up: "We're all Evan Yang's friends, brought together because of him. Let's make it democratic—if you want to follow me, come along. If you'd rather stay, that's fine too."
Everyone knew Xin Jiang's connection to Evan, and since they all sensed this place wasn't safe, they chose to trust her and left together.
Xin Jiang and Brandon Tu started dividing everyone into groups, then quietly led them out in batches. No one suspected a thing.
"They left?" Bruno Bear asked Wyatt Wolf, curious.
Wyatt Wolf nodded. "Yeah, they left in groups."
"Good. Looks like this place isn't safe anymore. At least they'll be safe. Otherwise, if that kid comes out and finds his friends in trouble, he'll definitely stir up another storm," Bruno Bear said.
"What about us?" Wyatt Wolf asked, feeling helpless. This place was about to become a battlefield, and this time it was the Blue Clan—different from before. If there was just one Spirit-Wandering expert previously, now there were at least two, maybe more, and no one knew exactly how many.
"You three should return to the base. As for the other experts and ordinary folks, send them to another outpost." The Spirit-Wandering expert suddenly appeared beside Wyatt Wolf and gave instructions.
"What?" The three were surprised to be sent back to the base so suddenly, but considering their own cultivation was only Soul-Forming, while the opponent was Spirit-Wandering, they knew a direct fight would only mean quick casualties.
In the end, Wyatt Wolf and the other two reluctantly accepted the Spirit-Wandering expert's advice and led a group away from the outpost.
"The Blue Clan should be arriving soon," the Spirit-Wandering expert said, taking out a Transmission Stone and contacting the other side.
"They set out a while ago—they should be here soon," came the reply.
"Alright, keep an eye on the Blue Clan. Let me know if anything happens." He put away the Transmission Stone, surveyed the outpost, and sighed, "Another outpost gone... Why do they keep coming after us?"
He swept the area with his divine sense and sighed, "Let's go."
With a flash, he left. The remaining ordinary people had already started leaving, so the outpost quickly grew cold and deserted. What had once been bustling was now empty and quiet.
The Blue Clan had no idea the news had already spread. When they arrived, they were stunned—the entire outpost was nearly empty.
Even the few who remained were newcomers, clueless about what had happened. They stared at the outpost, faces full of disbelief at everything unfolding.
"Late again!" The Blue Clan Patriarch roared in fury.
"Big brother, is the Free Alliance really going up against us?" asked the man beside the Blue Clan Patriarch—his own younger brother, who had spent years stationed in the Death Crystal Field.
