Words on the Wall

12/2/2025

Maxwell Jing sprawled across Ethan Gu, turning his head to flash her a grin. "No need! Men and women shouldn't touch so casually. Besides, this guy can be pretty unruly, and you can't fight him—you're no match!"

Yuna Ye couldn't help but glance at Ethan Gu, suspicion clouding her eyes. Brother Ethan never seemed the type to be afraid of applying medicine.

Seeing Yuna Ye unmoved, Ethan Gu looked a bit troubled. Maxwell Jing, on the other hand, was unconcerned—he stretched out his bloodied hand and patted Ethan's face, his smile dazzling. "Be good, the pain will be over in a moment!"

Yuna Ye frowned deeply. Why did it feel like Maxwell Jing wasn't trying to apply medicine, but rather looked like he wanted to kill someone?

Ethan Gu turned his face away in distaste. Maxwell Jing’s smile grew even brighter, just as he was about to smear again, his grin suddenly froze—then he stopped moving altogether!

Ethan Gu looked at Yuna Ye, who was still standing there, and said, "Could I trouble you to step out for a moment?"

"Huh?" Yuna Ye was taken aback by his bluntness. Her gaze dimmed, she nodded, and turned to leave.

Once Yuna Ye was out of sight, Maxwell Jing gritted his teeth. "Ethan Gu, can't you stop being so despicable every single time?"

Ethan Gu wiped his face, frowning. "Who told you to get so carried away? And to use such disgusting stuff!"

Maxwell Jing couldn't help but roll his eyes. "That disgusting stuff is yours!" He paused, then added innocently, "Besides, it's the only thing that looks most like blood!"

Ethan Gu grabbed Maxwell Jing’s clothes and wiped away the 'bloodstains' on his shoulder, frowning. "Why do you always have to pretend to be injured?"

Maxwell Jing curled his lips into a smile. "Otherwise? Should I let your little beauty watch how we bond? We could've left, but you wouldn't let go. Why else would I need this?"

Suddenly, Ethan Gu raised his hand and released Maxwell Jing’s pressure point. "Let’s go have a drink!"

At this, Maxwell Jing narrowed his eyes and grabbed Ethan’s collar, his smile turning a bit ferocious. "If you hadn’t said it, I’d have forgotten! Drink? Tell me, just how many secrets have you coaxed out of me?"

Ethan Gu raised his eyebrows, replying blandly, "So you’ve noticed."

Maxwell Jing huffed and shoved him away, straightening his clothes, eyes lowered. "What do you want to know?"

Ethan Gu leaned against the stone wall, gazing at him. "I just want to know why you feel nothing for Yuna Ye."

Maxwell Jing raised his brows at him, smiling. "Who said I feel nothing? I react to any beauty!"

Ethan Gu pulled him closer, his face serious. "You really don’t mind?"

Maxwell Jing shook his head. "Not at all!"

Ethan Gu frowned, then suddenly said, "Then I’ll just marry her!"

Maxwell Jing nodded, uttering a simple 'Oh,' and then showed no reaction at all.

Ethan Gu squinted at him, a fierce glint in his eyes. "Maxwell Jing, are you getting bold now?"

Maxwell Jing pretended to ponder seriously. "My wings were strong from birth! What, is it a crime not to be jealous?"

As he finished, his body shifted, dodging Ethan Gu’s attack. He glanced at the stone wall, now corroded with a large hole, and twitched his lips. "You’re too ruthless! That could kill someone!"

Ethan Gu waved a silver needle glowing with green light in front of Maxwell Jing’s nose, smiling gently. "Relax, it’s just a little lesson. I wouldn’t kill you—I still need you to warm my bed!"

Maxwell Jing stared at the silver needle, feigning fear. "It’d be better if you warmed my bed!" As the needle inched closer, he warned, "Don’t think you’re the only one who knows medicine!"

Ethan Gu replied indifferently, "Don’t forget, I taught you medicine!"

Maxwell Jing raised his brows. "Haven’t you heard the student can surpass the master?"

No sooner had he spoken than Ethan Gu suddenly fainted. Maxwell Jing caught him, laughing. "Now you know, don’t you?"

Ethan Gu slumped weakly against him, frowning. "What did you use?" With the Blood Jade Amulet on him, ordinary medicines shouldn’t work, and he’d always be able to sense anything unusual.

Maxwell Jing grinned with pride. "Stole it from the Princess Consort!"

Suddenly, his smile faded. Looking at Ethan Gu, he sighed, "Han, don’t worry about me. You know I never let myself suffer. The Prince brought Yuna Ye back for a reason!"

"Is that so? Then what about Galen Gu..."

Maxwell Jing cut him off. "Galen is your father, so I tolerated him that one time!"

Ethan Gu was about to say more when a sudden cough interrupted. Both looked up to see a guard standing awkwardly nearby, sneaking glances at them, curiosity written all over his face.

Only then did they realize how intimate they must have seemed. Maxwell Jing didn’t let go of Ethan Gu, but simply frowned and asked, "What is it?" As for Ethan, he couldn’t move even if he wanted to!

With the topic turning serious, the guard lost his curiosity and solemnly said, "The Fortress Master of Qin Fortress is about to celebrate his birthday. Someone just delivered an invitation!"

Maxwell Jing raised his brows at Ethan Gu, who couldn’t help but frown. Qin Fortress was one of the three great righteous martial families. Why would Qin Yan invite a sect leader?

Previously, Jade Dragon Manor’s wedding had invited both the righteous and evil factions for the Treasure Map. So what was the reason this time? He didn’t believe it was because the treasure hunt had made everyone friends!

Maxwell Jing thought for a moment, then said, "Just go straight to the sect master! We’re busy here!"

The man hesitated, then obediently went off to find Damien Gray. Ethan Gu caught the mischievous look in Maxwell Jing’s eyes, and a sense of foreboding crept into his heart.

Maxwell Jing, looking every bit the playboy, lifted Ethan’s chin and teased with a smile, "Han beauty, I’ll treat you well!" With that, he kissed him fiercely.

Just then, the guard happened to turn and see the scene. With a loud "thud!", he fell straight to the ground, staring in shock at the two of them, forgetting even to get up.
