Ryan Li had only taken the Demonic Heart Pill to prove his loyalty to the Demon Sect. Now, he had no choice but to remain in the sect, and didn't think there was any way to resolve his predicament. But Winter's words caught his attention.
As for Evan Yang, he had already placed his hand on Ryan's dantian. "Just stand still, don't move."
After speaking, Ryan immediately felt a warm sensation spread through his body. Evan used the same method as last time to cleanse the toxins from Ryan's body, and soon the Demonic Heart Pill was completely cleared away.
"Alright, you don't have any Demonic Heart Pill toxins left in your body now," Evan said with a smile.
Ryan looked curiously at his chest, and when he saw that the mark from the Demonic Heart Pill was truly gone, he exclaimed with delight, "You really have this kind of skill!"
"Can we leave now?" Evan asked with a smile.
"Of course. Now that you've all left the Demon Sect, there's nothing keeping me here either," Ryan said, smiling.
Evan nodded, then brought Ryan into the tower as well. Ryan's surprise was left to Evan's clone and Winter to explain, while Evan himself headed for another location.
That place was the Sky Unity Sect. Evan planned to investigate the space at the edge of the sky.
At this moment, Sky Unity Sect was on high alert. Evan, curious, walked down the mountain and asked a disciple, "What's going on here?"
"To guard against those strange bugs attacking." The disciple answered, seeing that Evan was a cultivator.
So that was the reason. Evan nodded, then thought for a moment and asked, "Can I go inside?"
"You? Who are you looking for?" The disciple sized Evan up curiously.
"I'm looking for..." Evan originally wanted to look for Pill-King Liam, but then remembered the Sky Unity Sect Master was plotting something and he might expose his identity. So, as he spoke, he knocked the guard disciple unconscious with a soft thud, then in a flash, knocked out several others stationed at different posts as well.
Seeing more than a dozen people fall unconscious just like that, Evan sighed, "If bugs really come, how are you supposed to defend yourselves like this?" He shook his head helplessly.
Afterwards, Evan infiltrated Sky Unity. Having visited Sky Unity Sect several times before, Evan easily disguised himself as an ordinary disciple and walked around inside, making it hard for anyone to recognize him.
Evan made his way up to Elder Lee's tower. After thinking for a moment, he curiously walked inside.
He found no one inside. "Strange, what time is it now? Why is there nobody here?" Every time Evan had visited before, he'd always found hidden disciples lurking in the shadows, but now there wasn't a single one.
This made Evan uneasy, so he slipped further ahead, to a place almost nobody would ever come to.
It was quiet here too. Evan frowned—how could even this place be so silent? Not a single elder was in Pill-King Liam's tower either.
Neither of the elder towers had anyone in them—what was going on?
So Evan activated his divine sense to check the situation inside Sky Unity Sect. He found the ordinary disciples and the people in the Law Enforcement Tower were still there, but the outer and inner elder groups were empty.
Noticing something was off, Evan continued his search, sweeping every mountain, every place, every spot with hundreds of threads of divine sense.
He quickly discovered a hidden cave with some people inside.
He was curious why they were all gathered there, but as he examined them closely, he found their auras were very weak.
"What happened? Are they all injured?" Evan recognized several familiar auras—Pill-King Liam, Elder Lee, and Chu Yi were all inside.
This made Evan worried, so he flashed outside the cave and found a formation there.
Evan recognized the technique at a glance—it was set up by the Sky Unity Sect Master. He quietly broke the formation and slowly walked inside.
He found it was a large cave, with many people lying there, and several big vats.
"What's going on here?" Evan was shocked to see cultivators inside with mangled flesh and all kinds of injuries.
Elder Lee and Chu Yi had the lowest cultivation here, and they were unconscious. The only conscious one Evan recognized was Pill-King Liam.
Pill-King Liam was shocked when he saw Evan. "Why are you here?"
"What happened?" Evan exclaimed. The others, seeing someone enter, quickly got up and ran out through the now-open formation, throwing Sky Unity Sect into chaos.
Evan stayed in the cave, treating Elder Lee and Chu Yi, while Pill-King Liam explained what had happened.
Since returning last time, the Sky Unity Sect Master had secretly dealt with some of the sect's experts, bringing them here and draining their cultivation.
No one knew what technique he was practicing, but those whose cultivation was drained would fall unconscious and eventually die. Quite a few had already died.
Because Pill-King Liam and the others had lower cultivation, it wasn't their turn yet. They didn't know why the sect master had changed so much, or why he'd brought them here despite their lower cultivation.
Evan realized the reason they were captured was likely connected to himself, but he didn't know why the sect master had changed so much. He was eager to learn the Sky Unity Sect Master's true identity.
Elder Lee and Chu Yi woke up and were delighted to see Evan, but there was no time for catching up. Evan immediately brought them into the tower.
Evan then asked Pill-King Liam, "What are these seven corpses?"
It seemed the sect master was trying to refine something, but he was said to be mentally unstable, so he left them here.
No wonder he wanted the Mind-Recall Pill—it was because of them.
"Mind-Recall Pill?" Pill-King Liam was reminded by Evan and seemed to understand.
"Yeah, do you know these people?" Evan noticed all seven were Spirit-Wandering Realm cultivators and was curious, since it was rare for a sect to have so many.
Pill-King Liam looked at them, frowned, and said, "These two are from the Blue Clan. Originally, they were here to help us fight the Demon Sect and Beastmaster Sect, but I don't know what happened. As for the other five, I only know this one."
Evan looked at the one Pill-King Liam mentioned, whose cultivation was the strongest, and asked curiously, "Who is he?"
"The former sect master," Pill-King Liam replied.
"The former sect master?" Evan was shocked.
"Yeah, I was shocked when I first came here, but seeing the sect master torment people every day, I've grown numb," Pill-King Liam sighed.
"Where is he now?" Evan released everyone but hadn't seen the Sky Unity Sect Master yet, so he was curious.
"He appears every night and disappears during the day. I don't know where he goes," Pill-King Liam shook his head.
"Do you know who he is—what he used to be?" Evan wanted to know the Sky Unity Sect Master's background and what he'd done before.
"I don't know. He was recommended by the former sect master," Pill-King Liam shook his head.
"In that case, I'll wake up the rest first," Evan decided to revive the unconscious sect master and others.
"Wake them up? You'll need Mind-Recall Pills for that." Pill-King Liam knew Evan could refine them, but five had been given to Sky Unity Sect and later stolen by the Demon Sect, so there should only be seven left, and Evan needed them to save people. There weren't enough for all seven.
Evan just smiled. "Go to a certain place first."
"Where?" Pill-King Liam asked curiously.
"Go in." Evan smiled, and Pill-King Liam vanished from Evan's sight. When he reappeared, Elder Lee, Chu Yi, and the others were happily chatting with Evan's clone.
Soon Pill-King Liam joined them. All three were amazed—after just a few years, they'd reached late Spirit-Wandering Realm, and the tower seemed incredibly powerful.
As for Evan's true self, he took out seven pills and fed them directly to the captives, then used several threads of divine sense to help revive them.
He needed to revive them before nightfall, Evan thought, so he sped up his actions, treating all seven.
Although Evan wasn't familiar with these seven, he wanted to learn about the Sky Unity Sect Master, and the only way was to hear from them.
As time passed, even with Mind-Recall Pills, only three were revived—one was the former sect master, and two had only recently fallen unconscious.
These three quickly woke up, but the other four remained unconscious even after taking the pills.
When the three woke up, they stared at Evan in shock.
Evan didn't waste words. "Don't talk now, just get out—he'll be back soon."
Seeing Evan was rescuing them, the three suppressed their questions.
Leaving the vat, the former sect master looked at the remaining four vats and sighed, "What a disaster—I really brought back a demon."
He then turned and left with Evan and the others.
Sky Unity Sect was in chaos—even the Spirit-Wandering sect master couldn't protect himself. The elders had already fled, fearing the demon would return.
Seeing the sect ruined, the former sect master sighed, "What a disaster."
"Are you the former sect master?" Evan asked curiously.
"Yes, I haven't had a chance to thank you. May I ask your name?" the former sect master asked humbly.
"Evan Yang," Evan replied.
The former sect master didn't know Evan, and his mind drew a blank. Embarrassed, he said, "Sorry, I guess I'm ignorant—I didn't know about you."
The other two were shocked. One said, "You're Evan Yang?"
"Yes," Evan nodded.
The two stared at Evan as if he were a monster. Finally, they said, "You're really something—you dared to challenge the Blue Clan openly."
"They brought it on themselves," Evan smiled.
The former sect master was confused—Evan challenged the Blue Clan? Was the Blue Clan out of experts, or was Evan just too strong?
"Thank you again. We're not exactly good people, but you should know we were sent here by the Blue Clan. Originally, we intended to capture your friends to threaten you, but things didn't go as planned," one said awkwardly.
The other chimed in, "We were tempted by the Blue Clan's benefits. If not for you, we would've been finished."
