After leaving the deepest part, Evan Yang turned to look at the few snow beasts that had been flying for a long time and smiled, "You don't need to see me off anymore. I'm good here."
"You bastard, kid, don't let us catch you. If we do, you're dead for sure," one of the snow beasts said angrily.
"Catch me? That's not likely. See you around." Evan Yang laughed, then, under the gaze of the five snow beasts, he leapt several times and disappeared from their sight.
The five snow beasts looked at each other. Chasing him any further was impossible—they figured going out there would be human territory anyway. Behind them, the other snow beasts were already in complete chaos, and many had been killed by humans taking advantage of the situation.
In the end, the five snow beasts, furious, turned back and started killing. Unable to find Evan Yang, they took their anger out on the humans.
However, the humans had already received word and evacuated.
When the snow beasts returned to kill, the place was empty. The surrounding snow was stained with blood and littered with corpses, and all that could be heard was the sound of wind and snow.
"Damn it, these damned humans," one of the snow beasts roared in anger.
"Now there's nothing left," another snow beast said pessimistically, sighing.
The other three snow beasts looked extremely grim. Finally, one spoke up: "I'm going to sneak into the human world and catch that kid."
"You're going?" The other four snow beasts looked at this one suspiciously.
"I'm going to learn everything about him, then make my move." That snow beast was furious—especially since Evan Yang had taken the item from the Ice Palace and fooled them for so long.
"I'm going too," another snow beast chimed in.
With two wanting to go, the other three also clamored to join. In truth, none of them trusted each other—they were all after the box, which had thrown the snowy lands into chaos. The Ice Palace was so lively because of that item. If they went to catch Evan Yang, it was impossible to let just one go alone; who knew if that one would try to keep everything for themselves.
Distrustful of each other, the snow beasts finally organized their own troops to stay behind and guard the snowy lands, while they themselves began investigating Evan Yang in the human world.
As for Evan Yang's deeds in Northsource, word had spread among the people. When the Snowpoint Sect heard of Evan Yang's strength, they couldn't believe it; the Three Snow Eccentrics were even more furious. They had originally planned to intercept Evan Yang, but he vanished halfway through.
Even the three couldn't keep up with his speed, so they helplessly went back to Evan Yang's sect to demand answers.
Ling Yu and Lana Situ returned to their own sects and began seclusion cultivation.
Everything seemed calm in Northsource, but beneath the surface, many things were happening. Evan Yang had already left Northsource riding his flying bird.
His target was the Demon Sect Cavern, where he planned to rescue Winter's mother.
With the Fly‑Fire Boots, Evan Yang felt even more confident about dealing with Joel Qiao of the Demon Sect.
Joel Qiao of the Demon Sect never expected Evan Yang to come looking for him again so soon. As he was healing his wounds, he suddenly heard a loud crash—a figure flew in and slammed against the wall.
That person was none other than the Demon Sect Patriarch, now covered in wounds and unable to speak.
"What happened?" Joel Qiao exclaimed in shock.
At that moment, another person walked in—it was Evan Yang.
Evan Yang smiled and said, "Hey there, old monster."
"You—" Joel Qiao was furious at being called that, but when he saw it was Evan Yang, his expression turned strange. "It's you!"
"Who else would it be?" Evan Yang laughed.
"What are you doing here!" Joel Qiao asked, shocked.
"What do you think?" Evan Yang stared at Joel Qiao.
At this moment, the roles were reversed. Back then, Joel Qiao had interrogated Evan Yang about the Strange Spiral Shell in that space, even injuring him. Now Evan Yang stood there, looking at Joel Qiao as if he were just an ordinary person—there was no longer any sense of intimidation.
"Kid, I know I offended you before, but I'm not looking for trouble now. You'd better not mess with me." Joel Qiao had lost five skeletons and knew it was hard to beat Evan Yang, but he didn't want Evan Yang to provoke his dignity either.
"Easy for you to say. Hand over the woman first, then we'll talk." Evan Yang smiled.
"The woman?" Joel Qiao's eyes widened—he hadn't expected Evan Yang to come for her.
"Go ahead, don't think I don't know." Evan Yang said bluntly.
"So you're here for her. Let me warn you, you'd better not provoke me, or I'll kill her right now." Joel Qiao sneered.
"You're as sinister as ever," Evan Yang replied expressionlessly.
"Sinister? Ha, don't forget who I am. Of course I'm sinister." Joel Qiao chuckled.
"Then I need to see that she's safe." Evan Yang said.
"She's safe for now, but if you don't hand over the Strange Spiral Shell, she won't be." Joel Qiao seized the opportunity to demand the shell from Evan Yang.
"The shell? What do you want it for? It's not much use to you." Evan Yang still wasn't fully aware of the shell's powers—besides boosting his divine sense, it didn't seem to do much else.
"Don't treat a treasure like it's nothing. If you don't want it, use it to trade for her life." Joel Qiao sneered.
"Trade? You have to let me see if she's alive first." Evan Yang knew Joel Qiao wouldn't let him see the woman unless he agreed.
Joel Qiao wasn't afraid Evan Yang could rescue her quickly. No matter what, if Evan Yang made a move, Joel Qiao could kill the woman first. So, Joel Qiao opened a hole in the wall and dragged someone out.
That person was none other than the Western Poison Hag.
She was still quite weak. When she saw Evan Yang, she exclaimed, "What are you doing here, kid?"
"How could I not come after seeing your injuries?" Evan Yang was shocked by her wounds.
"Don't worry about me—go find my daughter. If anything happens to her, I won't let you off, you little brat!" The Western Poison Hag saw Joel Qiao holding her hostage and noticed the Demon Sect Patriarch lying nearby. She wasn't sure what happened, but she knew Evan Yang was here to rescue someone, so she told him to save her daughter first.
"Don't worry, I've already taken your daughter away." Evan Yang sighed.
"Really?" The Western Poison Hag was overjoyed.
