The Insect Horde’s Plot

1/18/2026

The hundreds of flying swords achieved far greater results than a dozen rounds of Cloudburst Arrows, directly causing nearly five million insect deaths.

Seeing this, the warriors on the city wall were instantly reinvigorated.

But Ian Song noticed that after this wave of attacks, the hundreds of flying swords had dimmed considerably. Mainly, after slaying Flying Beetles, the corrosive fluids inside their bodies inflicted some damage on the swords.

So, he concluded that at most three attacks could be made before these Immortal-Dao cultivators would have to recall their flying swords for maintenance.

Sure enough, things went just as he expected.

After three more attacks, the flying swords’ glow faded greatly, and their power dropped sharply.

So, they had no choice but to recall their flying swords.

The archers and Immortal-Dao cultivators killed nearly twenty million Flying Beetles, but against a billion, it was still a drop in the bucket.

Fortunately, fifty Sigilforge warriors held the sky for now, slowing the Flying Beetles’ approach to the wall.

Just then, three more squads arrived.

A squad of just twenty-one members—that must be the Xingtian Squad.

Another team was made up entirely of women, all dressed in vibrant, eye-catching gowns. Unfortunately, except for the middle-aged woman leading them, every other woman had her face veiled with white silk.

Even so, Ian Song spotted the masked girl Ouyang Weiwei among them.

She hadn’t been seen for a while, but now she’d broken through to the Sigilforge Realm.

As soon as they appeared, the women soared into the air together, casting a pollen formation to slow down the Flying Beetles.

The third squad to arrive were Divine Path cultivators devoted to the Radiant Faith, all dressed in creamy white robes and carrying staffs. Most notably, every one of them was either strikingly handsome or beautiful, making for a pleasant sight.

But since no one on the wall was injured yet, these healers looked a little out of place, almost idle.

"Kill!"

Clad in crimson-gold war armor, Hector Xingtian roared and swung his two giant axes, charging straight into the Flying Beetles.

With a single swing, his twin axes split the black cloud in two, instantly inflicting at least half a million casualties.
