Beating a Down-and-Out Enemy

Mr. Gong brought Alex Summers and Amy to a stunning garden restaurant for lunch.

Thanks to the unique climate, it's like spring here all year round. The garden restaurant is always lush with greenery and blooming flowers, no matter the season.

Alex stepped inside and couldn't help but gasp, "Wow, this place is usually private—locals never get to eat here! I can't believe I get the chance today."

Amy just smiled and nodded.

Mr. Gong quickly added, polite as ever, "If Alex Summers is impressed, then this restaurant is truly worth it. Please, come in! The owner is my cousin, so we're all family here. Make yourselves comfortable."

"Thank you," Alex replied, nodding politely.

Once inside, they saw an open room about eight square meters wide—no door, just a beaded curtain separating it from the courtyard.

Right now, the beads were pulled aside so the gorgeous view outside was in full display—absolutely breathtaking.

"This place is so beautiful, I have to share it with Mrs. Grant!" Alex whipped out his phone, started recording a video, and sent it straight to Cecilia Gu.

Cecilia quickly sent back her own video. Alex answered right away, excitedly giving her a virtual tour: "Remember I told you about this restaurant before? It's incredible! It's never open to the public—I've only seen pictures, but the real thing is even better! Let me show you the décor, and these flowers are gorgeous..."

Watching Alex's enthusiastic video tour, Cecilia turned to Rona Muir and laughed, "Is my assistant a bit of a chatterbox or what?"

Rona glanced at her. "Isn't that because you spoil him?"

"I like chatty assistants," Cecilia giggled, then called over Bean Sprout and Coco Shen to watch with her. Everyone agreed—once they finished this job, they had to come visit.

Charles Yin watched Cecilia's animated face and smiled too, thinking his assistant must be thrilled now.

Alex chatted with Cecilia for nearly twenty minutes before finally hanging up.

Just then, lunch was served.

Alex couldn't help but praise each dish, snapping photos before touching anything—gotta "disinfect" with a camera first.

That's the modern dining ritual: snap pics first, dig in later.

Amy held her teacup, smiling as she watched Alex's excitement. His happiness was contagious.

At that moment, someone approached from the side, but stayed at a distance, not coming any closer.
