Lily Evans glanced at Alexander Hayes, pursed her lips, and said nothing for a while. She took Belle by the hand and left. Halfway there, she turned to look back, only to find that Alexander Hayes had already disappeared.
"Where did His Highness go?" Belle asked curiously.
A bitter smile appeared on Lily Evans's face as she shook her head, "Don’t worry about him... Belle, let’s go inside and check on the children."
Inside the room, Charles Hayes and Connie Evans were both lying down, with their wet nurses watching over them.
The moment Lily Evans saw the children, all her worries vanished. Her heart was filled with the sight of their innocent little faces.
Connie Evans was only one day older than Charles Hayes, but when the two children were placed together, Connie—though a girl—was noticeably bigger than Charlie.
At the moment, Connie was especially lively, babbling and waving her hands and feet, then, with great effort, she managed to roll over.
Connie's wet nurse laughed, "Miss Connie just learned to roll over today!"
"Connie can roll over now!?" Belle exclaimed joyfully. She went over, laid Connie flat, and coaxed her, "Connie, roll over for Mama!"
Connie giggled, drooling, and sure enough, rolled over by herself again!
