"What? Prince Alexander Hayes and Lily Evans are here!?" Charles Chu was delivering the bride to Ling Manor when his trusted aide rushed in with the news. He was so furious he could grind his teeth, shooting a glare at Prince Ling, who was carrying the bride, and muttering to himself, "Useless good-for-nothing! As a favored prince, you can't even block a mere subject. What use are you? Truly worthless!"

Charles Chu was utterly speechless at Prince Ling. If this were the Kingdom of Chu, as Crown Prince, nobody would dare defy his orders—not even a whisper!

But Prince Ling? He actually let Alexander Hayes and Lily Evans stroll right in to attend the wedding!

If Princess Mira catches sight of them, it'll be a disaster. When she gets lovestruck, she's completely uncontrollable—she's bound to make a scene!

It's one thing to make a fool of herself on a normal day, but to do it at her own wedding, in front of the Emperor and Empress of the Kingdom of Jin, and start chasing after another man? That would be a total catastrophe!

Charles Chu was anxious and asked his aide in a low voice, "Where are Prince Alexander and Lily Evans now?"

"Prince Alexander is in a side room with Lily Evans."

"Send someone to keep a close eye on them. Under no circumstances should Alexander Hayes appear in Princess Mira's line of sight!"

"Yes, Your Highness!"

After giving his instructions, Charles Chu hurried after the bride and groom into the ceremonial hall. With the Emperor and Empress of Chu absent, he, as the eldest brother, had to stand in as the father for the day.
