Hatred as Deep as the Sea 3

"Still no soul, or rather, no heart—just a skeleton."

I quietly watched Sebastian Zhao battling the Wraithshade in the sky. His strength and skill were flawless—Wraithshade had no chance to even defend himself.

Looking around, massive bone walls towered above, crawling with gigantic skeletal monsters. These creatures released dense ghostly energy, completely isolating this place from the darkness outside. For Wraithshade, escape was now impossible.

And the nine generals, as Yuna Ji's closest friends, had supported her ever since the disaster that befell the Grant Family, helping her shoulder the fate of the entire nation, standing by her side through storm and strife.

Now, those nine friends are gone. After everything that happened in the Netherhell, witnessed through my own eyes, The Nine Generals may still possess thought, but their souls have vanished—they have lost their hearts.

Wraithshade was completely trapped in a desperate struggle, unable to find any way to break through Sebastian Zhao's assault. His only goal was to reach Yuna Ji, but with countless skeletal soldiers and The Nine Generals surrounding her, that was impossible. Just as Yuna Ji said, what followed would be a long war—endlessly killing Wraithshade until the last lingering soul in his body was exhausted.

"What's wrong, Wraithshade? What we've endured is far harsher than what you're facing now. I'll reclaim every debt, piece by piece."

Panting heavily, Wraithshade managed to put some distance between himself and Sebastian Zhao. Sebastian paused his attack for a moment. Even if he couldn't die, this kind of attrition was a tremendous disadvantage for Wraithshade.

"Yuna Ji, when did you become so powerful? What method did you use?"

Yuna Ji giggled and stood up.

With a whoosh, Wraithshade suddenly unleashed a torrent of ghosts from his body. The spirits wailed as they scattered in all directions.

Shoot them down.

At Qiao Yusheng’s command, the black earth near the city wall creaked and split open. Skeletal archers crawled out, raising their bows and firing arrows at the ghosts.

None of the ghosts reached the walls; thousands were reduced to ashes in the rain of arrows.

Stop wasting your efforts, Wraithshade. Today, you will die here—buried in this darkness.

With a furious roar, Wraithshade raised his long spike and charged at Yuna Ji. With two metallic clangs, he slid back—once again blocked by Sebastian Zhao.

Sebastian Zhao died miserably back then—do you remember, Wraithshade? On the battlefield, you robbed him of his ability to act, letting the enemy torture him to death. All of this was your doing. Now, feel just how strong Sebastian Zhao truly is.

As soon as Yuna Ji finished speaking, Sebastian Zhao appeared behind Wraithshade in a flash. His dagger stabbed into Wraithshade’s shoulder, and with a powerful kick, he sent Wraithshade crashing to the ground as spears rose up all around.

Roaring in fury, Wraithshade halted as he neared the spears. With a crack, Sebastian Zhao stomped on his back, driving the spear through Wraithshade, leaving him suspended in midair.

Wraithshade’s body was riddled with holes. He tried to rise but was unable to move, the faces on his body rapidly disappearing.

Everything here is an extension of Yuna Ji herself, which is why these skeletons’ weapons can so easily kill Wraithshade. He was utterly powerless, left only to wait for death. For someone who once held all the power, this was unbearably cruel.

Just as Yuna Ji said from the beginning—Wraithshade must be killed. That was her greatest purpose in coming to this darkness.

Bastard! Yuna Ji, come fight me if you...

With a crunch, Wraithshade’s head was twisted off. Sebastian Zhao lifted it high as the skeleton soldiers erupted in cheers.

Wraithshade’s body, pierced by spikes, slowly crumbled into black sand, falling to the ground—his severed head in Sebastian Zhao’s hand followed suit.

If he tries to run, Thunderfire, drag him out.

In an instant, General Black Plume took the giant axe from his back and leapt forward with a whoosh. The skeletons immediately parted to make way.

With a thunderous crash, the twin axes struck the ground, sending tremors through the earth. Wraithshade was flung from the ground, his body crushed in places. With a blur of motion, Sebastian Zhao’s daggers flashed as he struck repeatedly, relentlessly attacking Wraithshade.

Under Sebastian Zhao’s relentless assault, Wraithshade was gradually lifted into the air, losing all ability to resist or move—forced to watch helplessly as his souls died one by one.

Yuna Ji...

Wraithshade glared, attacking relentlessly in midair. Sebastian Zhao darted around him, his daggers slicing precisely at vital points.

Yuna Ji laughed heartily, clapping her hands, her expression one of vengeance fulfilled.

With a whoosh, a flash of red light appeared. Instantly, a ghost wielding a broadsword flew out from Wraithshade’s body—agile and fast, it struck Sebastian Zhao hard, sending him flying.

You really think I have no...

With two swift blows, Wraithshade turned his head, eyes wide—the red ghost was sliced into pieces by Sebastian Zhao.

The ghost you created isn’t much, Wraithshade.

With a tear, the dagger pierced his heart. Wraithshade clutched the two gaping holes in his chest, the ghosts within him dying one after another. Sebastian Zhao caught his daggers and continued the attack.

Bastard...

With a furious howl, a host of red and purple ghosts appeared behind Wraithshade. Giant eagles flying overhead were shot down one by one—the ghosts seemed formidable in battle.

Sebastian Zhao tried to attack but was blocked by several ghosts. He immediately engaged them in fierce combat.

Yuna Ji...

Wraithshade had bypassed Sebastian Zhao, leading dozens of red ghosts in a charge toward Yuna Ji. Yet Yuna Ji stood motionless, smiling.

Qiao Yusheng had already raised his gleaming longsword, but as soon as Yuna Ji lifted her hand, he lowered it. The other generals preparing to attack also stopped.

You really think you can escape Sebastian Zhao?

As Wraithshade neared Yuna Ji, Sebastian Zhao had already circled around in front of him. With a chorus of wails, the ghosts trailing behind Wraithshade turned to ash in an instant. He stared in disbelief at Sebastian Zhao, his neck pierced by two daggers, blood pouring out.

Yuna Ji walked over slowly, standing behind Sebastian Zhao, her gaze coldly fixed on Wraithshade.

They are warriors who have wandered the battlefield for years. Your ghosts may have some strength, but that’s all. Do you truly think you can kill me? Or even touch me, against my mighty army?

With a cry, Wraithshade was pushed into the air by Sebastian Zhao. He panted, staring quietly at Sebastian Zhao—his techniques were useless, his ghosts all destroyed. The giant eagle riders in the sky cleverly separated the ghosts and defeated them one by one, reacting instantly as each was dealt with.

Years of warfare taught them more about battle than Wraithshade ever knew.

Go on, Wraithshade—it’s over.

As Yuna Ji spoke, Sebastian Zhao launched another attack—just as fierce and swift. Wraithshade swung his long spike, but couldn’t touch Sebastian Zhao.

Suddenly, Sebastian Zhao retreated, and a barrage of arrows rained down on Wraithshade.
