Can You Not Leave Me for Even a Minute
Lily Bai quietly snuck after them.
Just as she expected, the First Prince announced he would clear Sean Shaw's name before the whole world.
Of course, he’d only clear him of the city-slaughter charges.
Sean’s assassination attempt on the Celestial Empress and his rebellion against Drake Abyss were already established facts. If he confessed and returned, the First Prince would spare the demon troops and give him a lighter sentence.
Sean said, “Big Brother, I’ll hand over the person to you and I’ll go back to Drake Abyss. But I have one condition.”
“What condition?”
“I want the Celestial Empress to swallow a Divine Crimson Pill in front of everyone and retell the events of Lucia Lu’s case.”
Brandon Xiao frowned. “Usually only criminals are made to take a Divine Crimson Pill. Mother is the exalted Celestial Empress—how could she be forced to swallow one and be interrogated in public?”
Sean said, “Back then, Leo Li and the others captured Ethan Lu and used a Beyond-Shore Sigil on both him and Lucia Lu, forcing Lucia to confess by threatening Ethan’s life. That sigil is still with High God Ethan Lu.”
“But Lucia Lu did take the Divine Crimson Pill!”
“Leo Li and she tampered with it—Lucia never actually took the Divine Crimson Pill,” Sean said.
Brandon Xiao frowned. “Whatever happened back then, Lucia Lu is already gone. What’s the point of digging up the past?”
Sean said, “I just want justice for her! Everyone—living or dead, god or demon—deserves justice.”
Brandon Xiao said nothing.
Sean said, “Big Brother, I’ve always felt you’re different from the others. You have a sense of fairness! Are you really going to be like them now—turning a blind eye whenever it’s your own family?”
Brandon Xiao said, “I can’t condemn my own mother based on your word alone. I’ll question her when I return.”
“She’ll never tell you the truth,” Sean said.
Brandon Xiao changed the subject. “Let’s set the past aside. What about Third Brother? What do you plan to do with him?”
“He’s alive and well,” Sean said. “As long as you stop targeting Lucia’s mother, he’ll be fine.”
“As long as Bianca Whitefan stops causing trouble—”
“Big Brother!” Sean interrupted him. “When the Celestial Empress ordered Lily Bai to kill her, what evil had she done? The Empress was just scared—she wanted her dead, that’s all.”
“She’s someone who deserves to die—everyone wants her gone,” Brandon Xiao said. “I get that you’re loyal to those you love, but kidnapping your own brother just to protect her… Are you really going to keep drifting further away from us?”
Sean smiled. “Big Brother, I never got close to you guys in the first place!”
“Sean, I know you’ve suffered a lot. I promise you, if you come back with me, I won’t let anyone disrespect you ever again.”
Sean shook his head. “I have only that one condition. Big Brother, you can think it over.”
“And if I say no?”
“Then I’ll do things my own way,” Sean said.
Brandon Xiao asked, “And what exactly is your way?”
Sean gave him a formal bow. “Don’t worry, Big Brother, I won’t do anything reckless.”
Sean handed him a Messenger Charm. “If you agree, you can contact me anytime.”
Brandon Xiao took it, and Sean turned and disappeared.
As soon as he went invisible, he spotted Lily Bai.
She was hiding on a cloud, secretly spying on them.
He smiled, walked over, grabbed her, and teleported them far away. “Can’t you go even a minute without me?” he teased.
