Corpse Walkers of the Grand Void Expanse

"Shepherd Heavenly Venerable, what are you doing?"

Everyone on the ship jumped in fright, their scalps tingling. Elaina Cloud called out loudly, "Those Corpse Walkers are our guardians! Don't do anything reckless!"

Liana Flowersoul's eyes flickered, and she said softly, "Shepherd Heavenly Venerable is acting recklessly. It's safer for us if we get rid of him. What do you all think?"

Logan Cross frowned slightly and glanced at the others, noticing that nearly everyone on the ship was nodding in agreement to execute Shepherd Heavenly Venerable.

It seems Shepherd Heavenly Venerable still hasn't realized that almost everyone on this ship wants him dead.

Logan Cross felt a sense of absurdity. Quinn was nominally their leader for this mission to rendezvous with Flame-Venerable and Venerable Void, but it turned out nearly everyone on the ship was actually here to get rid of him!

Even Logan Cross himself bore a grudge against Quinn for his severed arm.

This Grand Void expedition seems like it's designed solely to get rid of Quinn, not to explore the Grand Void at all, Logan Cross thought.

Quinn ignored the calls from the people on the ship and continued to observe the Corpse Walkers.

They were indeed Pre-Historic Creators, with Taichu God-Stones embedded in their brows. But they had been dead for who knows how long—there was no blood flow, no aura at all.

These Pre-Historic Creators kept walking in a single direction—the very direction pointed out by Wayne Gale's star-river divine art.

Quinn flew to the side of one Corpse Walker, circling the giant as he tried to determine the cause of death.

Strangely, there wasn't a single wound on these Corpse Walkers, and their clothes looked fresh as new.

Quinn pondered for a moment, then transformed his Sword Pill into a flying sword, slicing off a corner of a Corpse Walker's clothing. Oddly, the garment instantly regrew.

The reason their clothes could regrow was that the corpses' divine sense, via the Taichu God-Stone, kept creating new matter.

"Though they are dead, their divine sense endures. Their thoughts remain as they were in life; even if their bodies are damaged, their divine sense repairs them."

Quinn figured out the principle, but he still couldn't tell why the Corpse Walkers kept moving toward one place.

Shu Jun's voice sounded: "Let me communicate with their divine sense and see what they experienced in life!"

"They don't even have souls, yet you can communicate?" Quinn asked in surprise.

"Of course. For us Creators, as long as our divine sense is strong enough, we can even acquire the knowledge of every Creator who ever died, gathering the wisdom of all."
