Cecilia Chen Ordered Us to Do This
He went with Grace and also heard the commotion inside the room.
Then, with a grim face, he whispered something to Evan Xiao and called him over too.
Evan Xiao arrived at the door and kicked it open with one swift motion.
Inside, two people were busy—one fumbling around, the other groping Anna. Her fair body, especially her chest and lower half, was already covered in bruises and marks, looking utterly miserable.
The door was suddenly kicked open, startling both of them. They hurriedly pulled on their clothes and dropped to their knees in front of Evan Xiao, begging, "General, spare us! General, please! We were just drunk!"
Both of them knew Evan Xiao's reputation well, and they trembled with fear.
Evan Xiao was clearly furious, his face dark as a storm, and he spat out three words through clenched teeth: "Get out!"
The scene inside was truly a mess.
So, the two of them came out and closed the door behind them.
Grace figured they'd probably confess soon.
So, she quickly pulled Steward Qin aside and whispered, "Steward Qin, may I trouble you with something?"
"I wouldn't dare call it trouble. If you need anything, just say the word," Steward Qin replied.
"Go and quietly bring Eric Shen over," Grace said.
"Huh? But... family scandals shouldn't be aired in public..." Steward Qin hesitated.
"I just overheard them say it was Cecilia Chen who put them up to this. She was actually aiming for me! Anna just got caught in the crossfire," Grace said. "Cecilia Chen is so vicious, she's not worthy of Eric Shen! Let him hear their confession himself!"
Quentin Chin frowned but agreed.
Not to mention Lily Bai once cured Shen Ke, and she's the general's sweetheart—just from a moral standpoint, he couldn't stand it anymore.
Lily Bai was Cecilia Chen's savior, and yet she sent someone to hurt her?
......
The two men knelt outside, under the sheets drying in the yard, begging nonstop: "General, spare us! We really were just drunk!"
Evan Xiao kicked each of them over and demanded, "Speak! Who put you up to this?"
He knew this room belonged to Lily Bai.
He wasn't stupid; he knew it couldn't be just a drunken mistake.
"No one put us up to it, we really were just drunk!" The two men stubbornly refused to say anything else.
Evan Xiao didn't waste words. He nodded and ordered, "Take them away and punish them according to military law!"
With that, he turned and walked away.
Evan Xiao was strict with his troops. Assaulting women or robbing civilians were capital offenses.
When the two men heard this, they finally panicked and blurted out, "General, it was Cecilia Chen who told us to do this! You know, her brother did us a favor! We were just repaying a debt!"
Evan Xiao stopped, his gaze icy cold as he looked at them. "Is that true?"
"If I'm lying, may my entire family be wiped out!" one of them swore, raising his hand.
"Me too!" the other chimed in, raising his hand. "She said the General was obsessed with that maid, and if she stirred things up and got her married off to Eric Shen, you'd let her go and finally marry Cecilia Chen! Otherwise, she'd kill herself..."
"Exactly! We just couldn't bear to see our benefactor's little sister suffer, so we agreed to help her!"
Evan Xiao was silent for a moment, then said, "Forty lashes each! Take them away!"
"Yes, sir!" The guards came forward and dragged them off for their punishment.
