Big Trouble Is Brewing
She pulled out the cloth and—bam! There was this squished little hole, perfect for spying straight into the room from outside.
She left the window and door just barely cracked open, then hurried across the hall to Anna’s room.
She waited a bit, then—bam!—noises started coming from across the hall.
Creak, creak—the racket was anything but subtle.
She could even make out some heavy breathing.
Grace ducked behind the bedsheet to spy, only to see that the door, which had looked half-open, was now locked up tight.
Looked like someone had snuck in through the back window.
Grace tiptoed back into Anna’s room, hopped out the back window again, and crept around to the back window of her own room.
That back window was shut tight too, clearly bolted from the inside.
Grace peeped through that squished little spyhole and saw a man moving up and down, obviously doing something way too R-rated to describe.
The hole was so low on the window, she could only see the guy’s chest and waist—no way to glimpse his face.
But she recognized his clothes—they were a military uniform.
Wait, seriously? A soldier?
Could it be one of the guests who came today?
Did Cecilia Chen really team up with one of today’s guests to do something this nasty to her?
"Dude, you’re really going at it! How long has it been?" came a low voice from inside. "Hurry up! I’m about to keel over!"
Grace nearly choked—wait, there’s more than one guy?
The guy doing the deed panted and replied, "Bro, I’m just getting started! This chick’s nothing special, but hey, at least she’s fresh! Let me have a little more fun!"
"Seriously, she’s way below Cecilia’s league. How come she can’t even handle this? And we have to do the dirty work?"
"Who knows! The General never goes for girls—maybe he’s got weird taste?"
"Hurry up, before someone catches us."
"Chill out! They’re busy drinking over there. This won’t end for another two hours!" the guy grunted. "Go hard! Leave some marks—pinch, pull, whatever. We need solid proof when the time comes!"
...
The two guys kept chatting while doing their thing...
Grace tiptoed away, quiet as a mouse.
With a scene like that, you bet Cecilia’s going to send someone to catch them in the act.
But since those two were soldiers, Grace figured Cecilia would wait till they finished, then have Anna or someone else find her naked and ‘violated’, and report it to Evan Xiao.
That way, her reputation would be ruined, but the two troublemakers wouldn’t get caught by Evan Xiao...
...
Grace grinned, jumped out the back window, and stuck to the quietest paths.
She wanted to find Quentin Chin, or Louis Lin would do too.
Lucky her—she hadn’t even snuck out of the Cold Moon Pavilion yet when she ran right into Quentin Chin.
"Mr. Chin!" Grace grabbed him and dragged him behind the fake mountain.
"What’s up, Miss Fish?" Quentin Chin asked, looking puzzled.
"It’s bad!" Grace blurted. "Big trouble!"
"What happened?"
"Just now, I ate with Anna. She saw I was burning up with fever and insisted on staying in my room to keep an eye on me," Grace explained. "Then I went to the bathroom, and when I came back, my door was locked from the inside—I couldn’t get in!"
"Huh? That’s a thing?" Quentin Chin looked totally confused. "Are you saying Anna was stealing from your room?"
"No!" Grace frowned. "I heard noises inside, like men’s voices, and... it sounded like something really bad was happening. I freaked out and came running to you!"
Quentin Chin was a stickler for justice. Hearing this, he frowned and said, "Let’s go check it out!"
