Familiar Spiritual Power

Grace grabbed Cutie Pie and leapt out of the window.

Cutie Pie kept channeling healing energy into her, and her spiritual channels recovered enough for her to move again.

She left Snowdrop Garden and returned to Serenity Pavilion, where Hope and Claire were still awake, waiting for her.

"Miss Lawrence, where did you go? We were worried sick!" Hope asked.

Grace paused, then said, "I didn't go anywhere. I came back to Serenity Pavilion this afternoon and have been sleeping ever since."

Hope and Claire exchanged a glance and said, "Yes, Miss. We understand."

"You two should get some rest now!"

"Yes, Miss."

...

After the two maids left, Grace looked down at the Cutie Pie in her hands.

It kept channeling that same restorative energy into her spiritual channels.

This energy felt strangely familiar.

The time when Emperor Tuoba Hong rescued her from the palace—she'd injured her spiritual channels to fake a suicide attempt when Colin Gu came to visit.

Later, Evan Xiao came to heal her, and it felt exactly the same.

Cool and soothing—really comfortable.

"Cutie Pie, how come you're just like Evan Xiao? You can heal wounds too?" Grace asked.

Of course, Cutie Pie couldn't answer.

"Could it be... the Divine Dragon gave you both this power?" That was the only explanation she could think of.

Otherwise, how could a person and a snake both have the same healing powers?

Cutie Pie nodded.

Just as expected!

Grace nodded and said, "Thank you, Cutie Pie. You really saved my life this time."

Cutie Pie kept healing her.

It looked completely focused.

So Grace stayed quiet and worked with Cutie Pie, regulating her breath and letting it heal her. By sunrise, she was basically fine.

After Cutie Pie finished healing her, it slipped back into her Sanctum and crawled into its hibernation den.

Grace followed, bent down at the den entrance, and asked, "Are you going to keep hibernating?"

Cutie Pie poked its head out and nodded.

"I bit the Dragon Scale, so I must've woken you from hibernation..." Grace said apologetically. "I hope it doesn't affect your health or cultivation."

Evan Xiao shook his head and disappeared into the den.

...

Last night, Evan Xiao was sound asleep when he suddenly sensed her biting the Dragon Scale.

There was a barrier outside the Zhu Estate, so he had to transform into Cutie Pie to get inside.

But he has things to do tomorrow and has to leave again.

So he pretended to go back into hibernation, letting her think he was still in the den. That way, she wouldn't run off to the General's Manor to look for Cutie Pie...

...

Grace took a nap, and soon it was morning.

Aunt Autumn arrived before Grace even got out of bed, telling her to visit Dowager Lady Evelyn Zhu.

"Aunt Autumn, why are you sending me to Grandmother so early? Did something happen?" Grace asked.

"Yes. Lady Blue Moon went to Dowager Lady Evelyn Zhu first thing this morning, saying you tried to assassinate her last night." Aunt Autumn looked at her inquisitively.

"What? Me, trying to assassinate her in the middle of the night?" Grace was utterly shocked.

Aunt Autumn shook her head. "I don't know what's going on, but you'd better hurry over! The Prime Minister is already there too."

Grace nodded. "Thank you, Aunt Autumn. I'll get dressed and head right over."

After Aunt Autumn left, Pan'er looked at Grace worriedly. "Miss Lawrence..."

"It's fine," Grace said. "Don't worry, just act normal."

The two maids nodded.

When they arrived at the Hall of Longevity, Minister Zhuo and Grace Wan were already there.

There was a wound on Grace Wan's neck—not fatal, but it looked pretty shocking.
