Morgan Shangguan had her own considerations. For now, those lurking in the shadows probably didn’t know her true identity—she’d always kept it hidden, and the Cloud Guild had only recently risen to prominence. She also trusted Quentin Hua not to reveal unnecessary details in front of that person. Therefore, positioning the Cloud Guild as an enemy of the Ghost Guild had its advantages!
Early in the morning, Morgan Shangguan was woken by a disturbance. Not wanting to open her eyes, she simply reached out and gently brushed away the hand moving across her face, muttering, “Roxy, stop fooling around!”
Usually, it was Roxy who was the most mischievous, always climbing all over her. But she seemed to have forgotten that since Ethan Gray refused to share a room with Damien Gray at night, Roxy hadn’t been in their room either!
Damien Gray snorted in displeasure, “All you ever think about is that brat!” Well! After Ethan Gray was promoted to ‘smelly boy,’ Roxy Shangguan had now been promoted to ‘smelly girl!’ Jealous men really are terrifying!
The warm, gentle touch on her lips finally brought Morgan Shangguan back to full consciousness. Neither Roxy nor Ethan were clueless infants—no matter how hungry they were, they wouldn’t mistake her lips for food!
She opened her eyes slightly, glanced at Damien Gray, then lazily wrapped her arms around his neck, letting him kiss her as he pleased.
After the kiss, Damien Gray reached out to smooth her slightly messy hair and said softly, “Qin Yan came to see me. Want to go watch the show?”
Morgan Shangguan raised an eyebrow, still holding onto his neck. She smiled, then suddenly rolled over to lie on top of him, gently pulling open his collar and laughing softly, “Damien, aren’t you uncomfortable?”
Damien Gray’s whole body tensed, his dark eyes growing deeper. He warned in a husky voice, “I haven’t touched you in a long time!” Right now, he really couldn’t take any teasing—when it came to her, his self-control was always lacking!
Morgan Shangguan propped her head up with one hand, her gaze fixed on his face. She frowned, “It has been a long time! Has the Prince grown tired of me after being with me for so long? What should I do?” Her expression was one of worry, but her eyes clearly sparkled with amusement.
Seeing the teasing glint in her eyes, Damien Gray took a deep breath and asked, “Are you really alright?”
“I’m perfectly fine!” Morgan couldn’t help but sigh inwardly. She’d originally wanted to see how long he could hold out before touching her, but seeing him struggle so much, she couldn’t bear it any longer.
Hearing this, Damien Gray didn’t hold back any longer. But just as the air grew heated and their clothes fell away, Morgan suddenly pushed him aside and asked, “Did you just say Qin Yan came to see you?”
Damien looked utterly defeated, gritting his teeth. “You’d better not say you want to go watch the show now!” Otherwise, he’d definitely kill... Qin Yan!
Morgan shrugged innocently. She’d only been paying attention to him and hadn’t really listened to what he said—she was just now realizing it! So she wasn’t intentionally interrupting him. “So what now?” she asked. Stopping him at this moment didn’t seem realistic!
Damien Gray snorted coldly, “Let him wait!” Then he pinned her hands, as if afraid she’d run away, looking every bit the man about to ravish a respectable woman!
Morgan couldn’t help but laugh out loud, but was immediately silenced by Damien’s kiss as the room filled with romance and passion.
Meanwhile, Qin Yan was feeling anxious. He understood the gap between Qin Fortress and the Cloud Guild; if he wanted to defeat the Cloud Guild, he’d have to seek cooperation with the Ghost Guild. But the Ghostmaster’s thoughts were unfathomable—getting him to act, who knew what price would have to be paid! And the price might be small compared to the risk that the Ghostmaster simply wouldn’t want to help at all.
Still, the Ghostmaster had saved his life once before. Qin Yan didn’t know why, but at least the Ghostmaster hadn’t wanted him dead. Now that the Cloud Guild was openly opposing the Ghost Guild, the Ghostmaster probably wanted to deal with the Cloud Guild too. Maybe this moment was just too sensitive for direct action, or perhaps it was inconvenient for him to act personally. So if Qin Yan came to offer himself as a tool, perhaps the Ghostmaster would accept and use him.
Even with all this analysis, Qin Yan was still worried the Ghostmaster wouldn’t even agree to meet him—after all, that was a common enough occurrence.
There were no fewer people who wanted to meet the Ghostmaster than those who wanted to see Quentin Hua. But people sought out Quentin Hua for his beauty, while those who wanted to meet the Ghostmaster usually had something to ask of him. Everyone has desires—not only those from the evil path, but even the righteous. The difference is one is blatant, the other knows how to hide it. Regardless, whether evil or righteous, meeting the elusive Ghostmaster was extremely difficult!
But unexpectedly, the Ghostmaster actually told him to wait—meaning he’d decided to see him after all. Qin Yan hadn’t expected such luck. It seemed the Ghostmaster really did have use for him, so there was room for negotiation!
Of course, he didn’t believe the Ghostmaster was helping him out of kindness!
But from morning to noon, from noon to midday, and then from midday to afternoon—by evening, even the most patient person would grow restless. Yet Qin Yan didn’t dare rush things; if he annoyed the Ghostmaster, it would all be for nothing!
For the sake of Qin Fortress, he could only grit his teeth and keep waiting!
Outside the door, Maxwell Jing turned and left, entering the room next door. As soon as he walked in, he laughed, “Qin Yan really is patient! But even if the Guildmaster made him wait ten days or half a month, he’d probably wait it out. Why are we guarding him anyway? Are we afraid he’ll run off?”
Ethan Gu sat at the table, took a sip of tea, then set down his cup and looked over with a blank expression. “Are you still not awake?” Who knows who heard that Qin Yan was looking for the Guildmaster and rushed over early to watch the couple’s scheming, even dragging him along. The Ghost Guild is certainly not idle these days!
Maxwell Jing walked up beside him, leaned in close to his ear, and teased, “So should we go back to sleep?”
Ethan Gu picked up his cup and took another sip of tea, keeping an ear on the sounds from next door, and paid no attention to Maxwell’s suggestion.
Maxwell Jing hooked his arm around Ethan’s neck from behind and threatened, “Ethan Gu, don’t think I won’t strangle you!” If he didn’t know Ethan’s personality so well, he’d really start doubting Ethan’s feelings for him!
But thinking about it, maybe this was for the best—because whenever Ethan Gu wasn’t cold and aloof, it usually meant Maxwell was about to have a run of bad luck!
