After listening to Gavin Wei, Evan Chu said, "Why is everything you mention related to blood? Some of these species I've never even heard of—where did you get this information?"
Evan’s question was clearly redundant. Gavin Wei was a Medicine Immortal from ancient times—he’d dealt with all kinds of spirit herbs and rare species; otherwise, he wouldn’t know how to treat Roxanne Lin. Though he couldn’t cure her completely, he could buy her a thousand years.
"Boss, I keep telling you to read more and you never listen. These things are all recorded in ancient texts! You just need to hurry up and find the blood of these rare species." Gavin Wei shot Evan a look as he spoke.
"I’ve got dragon blood myself, Roxanne has phoenix blood, Old Black still has qilin blood. As for Barbaric Flood-Dragon blood, Heaven Mosquito blood, and Cloud Leopard blood, we’ll need everyone to help search for those. If it exists in the Immortal Realm, I’ll do whatever it takes to get it." Evan said seriously.
"Alright, then get moving. I’ll start preparing the medicine now and wait for you to bring back all twelve types of blood." Gavin Wei said, then walked straight into the pharmacy, ignoring Evan.
Evan immediately returned to Frostbane Grand Hall. "Pass my order: convene an emergency meeting—everyone Protector and above, gather in the hall!"
At the moment, only a few elders were handling sect affairs in the hall. Hearing Evan’s command, Blazefire Immortal Emperor couldn’t help asking, "Boss, did something big happen? Why do you look so anxious?"
"Blazefire, hurry and call everyone over—I have something important to announce." Evan said, a little impatiently.
Soon, the hall was filled with more than thirty people. Everyone stared at Evan in confusion, not understanding why he’d called them together in such a rush.
"I’ve gathered you all here for something important. Right now, the palace needs several types of rare blood. These are extremely hard to obtain—if you know where to find any of these species, speak up or go get them. The palace will reward you handsomely." Evan announced.
The crowd grew even more confused, none of them knowing why Evan Chu needed all that blood. Everyone waited curiously for him to reveal exactly which bloodlines he wanted.
Evan then listed out all the rare bloodlines Gavin Wei needed, and several people looked baffled—some of the names they'd never even heard before. It was clear this mission was going to be seriously tough.
"Palace Lord, I know where the Cloud Leopards live. They usually stick to the clouds around Tianshan, hiding year-round, and they're a super rare kind of immortal beast. They're not that strong, but their speed is insane. I'm willing to go get Cloud Leopard blood for you." One Protector stepped forward and declared.
"Good. I'll leave the Cloud Leopard blood to you. You can take ten sect disciples with you. I want you back within ten days, at the latest," Evan ordered immediately.
The Protector quickly called another Protector to join him and left. Both of them had early Immortal Emperor cultivation, but Evan was confident their strength would be enough for the job.
"Palace Lord, I've seen Barbaric Flood-Dragons before. They live out in the Sea Regions, and they're insanely strong—some of them even reach late Immortal Emperor level. I'm willing to take a team and go after one," another Protector said.
Evan frowned slightly and replied, "Lingxiao, pick a few people and go yourself. This is a critical mission—you have to succeed."
"Got it. Don't worry!" Lingxiao smiled and reassured Evan.
A few elders then mentioned the habitats of some other species, and Evan sent people to track each one down. But there were two species nobody had ever even heard of: the Heaven Mosquito and the One-Horned Cat.
"Are you sure none of you have ever heard where those two species live?" Evan pressed the remaining crowd again.
Everyone could only shake their heads helplessly. Evan already had an idea, so he said, "Jade, Yvonne, come with me to the Golden Dragon King. Maybe he knows where those two species are hiding."
No time to waste—Evan, Jade, and Yvonne left the grand hall, hopped onto Goldwing's back, and shot toward Coldshroud Imperial Palace. Thanks to Goldwing's speed, they arrived in just half a day.
"Palace Lord, may I ask what brings you here today?" The Golden Dragon King saw Evan arrive, looking a little anxious, and asked.
"Golden Dragon, I need to know the origins of two species—the Heaven Mosquito and the One-Horned Cat. Have you ever heard of them?" Evan asked without delay.
"Heaven Mosquito? One-Horned Cat? Those are Primordial-era beasts! In the Immortal Realm, they're probably extinct. Even if they exist, they're next to impossible to find. Palace Lord, why do you want those two?" The Golden Dragon King asked, puzzled.
"It's a matter of life and death. Just tell me if you know where they are—I urgently need their blood, and this can't wait," Evan said seriously.
Jade is basically an ancient immortal herself, but even she had no idea where those two beasts originated. That alone showed just how rare they were.
"Palace Lord, Heaven Mosquitoes usually live in swamps. They're as big as a calf, fly crazy fast, and their spear-like proboscis is downright terrifying. Even I'd avoid a Heaven Mosquito if I ran into one—they're a real pain among Primordial immortal beasts," the Golden Dragon King explained.
"What about the One-Horned Cat? Where do those show up?" Evan asked.
"The One-Horned Cat is also called the One-Horned Desolate Beast. It looks just like a small cat but with a single horn on its head. They're quick, their illusions are natural-born, and they're fire-attribute Primordial immortal beasts. Even if you run into one, it'll slip away in a flash. They usually haunt volcanic regions," said the Golden Dragon King.
"Golden Dragon, can you say for sure if these Primordial immortal beasts still exist? This is critical—I need a definite answer," Evan pressed.
"They probably exist, but they're incredibly rare. Palace Lord, you need to be mentally prepared for how tough this will be. They're only found in Primordial regions. I only know about the volcanic area where the One-Horned Cat shows up. As for Heaven Mosquitoes, I'm afraid I can't help—Primordial swamps are basically gone in the Immortal Realm. Maybe they're in the Demonic Realm or Netherworld, but then they'd be demonic or nether beasts, not immortal beasts," the Golden Dragon King replied.
"As long as they're out there, we can work with it. Go get ready—let's head out and find the One-Horned Cat now. Time's tight and we can't afford any delays," Evan said.
The Golden Dragon King left to handle sect business. He soon returned and said, "Palace Lord, let's go. Just fly straight west—there's a massive volcanic cluster out there, and I'm sure the One-Horned Cat will love that place."
Evan, Jade, Yvonne, and the Golden Dragon King all hopped onto Goldwing's back and shot west toward the volcanoes at top speed...
